I don’t think Zaha should have got a yellow. He’s every right to go for that ball at that height.

Surely, no player is permitted to put a reckless challenge in on another player, anywhere on the pitch. Getting the ball is (nowadays) beside the point; it is the damage or the probability of damage that is the decisive factor.

Was it used in the FA Cup Semis? Not heard anything about it and didn't watch either game.

No but Hughes thought it should have been for Southampton 's disallowed goal when Austin was adjudged to have fouled the goalie .

Just out of interest has anyone tried to analyse how we would have fared if VAR had been used this season?

If anyone has the time or inclination, perhaps they could research the footage that has been shown of us on TV and work out if we would we have gained or lost points?

quick suggestion. could someone start a thread maybe where we light-heartedly and hypothetically look at what might have happened had we used VAR this seasom?

that's for someone smarter than me. it would have to be obvious enough to attract people to comment on the what would might have happened if VAR was in use this season.....

If VARse was in use this season then I think on Saturday we'd have had more time waiting for decisions than match time.

The Roma owner wants VAR after last night. I agree it probably would have got them 2 penalties - but then the 2 they did get over the two legs would certainly have been ruled out and Liverpool would likely have got one for a push on Mane early doors.

Yep, they want it when things go against them and don't want it when things go for them. Who'd have thought?
