Looks good. The only different picks from you guys I might make would be Chicago over Oaktown, Denver to lose at KC, and maybe, just maybe, NYG over the Cowboys. Also, I'll take the home team against Atlanta.

The shoe is really on the other foot on Monday night. SF has been such a legendary team for decades, whilst the Seahawks have been legendarily mediocre. SF is very unentertaining these days now...

3) Midway through the 1Q of Colts/Chargers, I need to ask why only one team felt the need to show up?

 

One more thing...do any of you follow college football?
It's more difficult to follow due to the number of teams, but frankly more rewarding in my opinion. I imagine it's as difficult to follow College football in England as it is to follow Championship football in the US...

It has a much more local feel, much more like English Football support.
I always enjoy Saturday a bit more than Sunday tbh.

 

I try and keep an eye out for College games as the draft approaches, but not from the start of the season.

 

College Footbawl is on NASN, which you have to pay for. I dont bother with paying for it, but I do read Gregg Easterbrook's column on the ESPN website, and he often mentions it.

At 0-23, I still fancied the Colts last night, if only bloody Vinitieri wasn't the new Vanderjagt.

I'm currently watching the recording of the 49ers @ Seattle, and am wondering why, as it is the definition of a nothing game.

 

There have been some tremendously awful blowout games lately.
The 49ers were just awful. The miserable clumsy fumblers known as the Ravens from last week's game would have kicked their asses up and down the field.

Truly pathetic.

 

Twas indeed poor. Thank God for Mike Carlson.

PFC - how were the Thanksgiving games? I saw Brett Favre is still screaming onwards and upwards. Rich Eisen (NFL Network) seems to think that the Pack are the only team from the NFC that can challenge the Pats in the Superbowl come February.

 

Cowboys blew away the Jets. Yawn. I hate the Cowboys. I wish they'd form their own league with Chelsea, Man Utd, the Yankees and the Lakers.

Favre's Pack was unstoppable, though Detroit put some numbers up on them.

Colts won, but I didn't see any of their game against the Falcons.

 

Lakers suck - give me the Warriors any day.
Yankees suck - give me the Giants and the A's
Cowboys - don't get me started... for some reason tho' - I suport the Vikings

Oh - and the Sharks in the NHL!

 

I watched the third quarter of the Cowboys game when i came in from the pub. There is such a reliance on T.O its ridiculous.

You might as well just put him and Romo on the field when attacking, because rarely do they search for anyone else.

Havent seen Greenbay play yet, but looking forward to their big game this weekend.

 

I fancy the Pack over the Pats. I can just see the pompous ****s tripping up at the last.

And as for NHL, how can anyone look further than the Canucks?

Nice. I like the Bay teams too, except the SJ Earthquakes, and the SF 49ers. Warriors were my favorite basketball team ever during the Run TMC era. Then there is always Cal. GO BEARS!

One nice thing:
As you probably know MLS and soccer in general is much maligned by most NFL devotees here. We MLS fans regularly have to play on pitches marked for NCAA or NFL football games. Sometimes, it's a bit like seeing an ex boyfriends name tattooed on your girlfriends butt.

However, you can see the center circle on the middle of the field leftover from the MLS playoffs in which the NE Revolution made it all the way to the title game before losing.

With the Pats success, the Red Sox winning the Series, Boston College doing well in college football, and the Revs going all the way to the MLS Cup, it's been a hell of a year for Boston.

 

Fitz did you watch Bears V Broncos? What a game and what a comeback.

******* Eagles. Why did I have to start supporting them after the bloody Superbowl? In a bloody good position and they bloody throw it away with that bloody interception.

Still, those ******* Pats will lose before long.

 

I didn't but saw the highlights. Had some family things going on.

I kept flipping back and forth to the NFL.COM scoreboard thinking
-Damn, the Bears are out already.
-Whoa, they scored on the Broncos.
-Hey they're within a few points...
-Holy crap, they went ahead! (I had to rub my eyes on this one.)

I was pretty amazed byt the highlights...Devin Hester is unbelievable.
I'm sure you recal him in the opening minutes of the Super Bowl last year, giving me false hope for the outcome...

I loved it. Just the thing to pick you up when you're at home sick. 57 minutes of 1-yard running in a swimming pool. And if nothing else comforts you Tony, Jaws and MIke's banter will.

I blame the England team.

 

3-0 against the Dolphins??

Were the Steelers really that bad or were the Dolphins playing better?

 

Neither. The pitch was **** as they had layed it the day before and it was bucketing down. Neither team could catch the ball. That being said the Fins did get some from of defense up, but both Chatman and Ricky 'The Big Man' Williams got hurt, leaving them devoid of a running game.

Ah well, roll on the Packers' battering of teh Cowboys on Thursday
