QSF mentioned earlier in the season about taking care of the ball. He wasn't joking and Diamanti is a ballkeeping master.

You know you're doing alright when the oppo's manager has a very puzzled look on his face ... Monk's was a picture of it.

 

I'm still waiting for Jurado to fill the Jurado role.

The "teachers pet" role. He's playing it to perfection. No end product, never substituted.

 

This thread is long established and now set in stone. Far simpler for him to just change his name.

 

Agree....lovely touch and at times, movement, but not creating much. He needs to be subbed appropriately so that he knows he's got to deliver

I think, potentially, there's still more to come. Even if he comes on with 5 mins to go and wins us 3 points with a FK, it was a worthwhile signing imo

 

As long as the opposition don't score twice in those 5 mins as a result of effectively playing against 10 men.

 

You could sign Peter Lorimer to do that!

 

How Diamanti can be seen to be a better bet to come on above Guedioura when we need to chase a game is beyond me. Diamante is a slow, unfit show boater that completely took the energy out of the left hand side when he came on against Lesta. Meanwhile Gueds has to once again warm up for at least 20 mins and stand there while that clown came on.....Guedioura's energy and ability to produce the unexpected would have been far more useful.

We've added some truly exellent players this year, but Diamante is a complete waste of a squad place IMO

 

I think Diamanti is a class player and I've really enjoyed his little cameos so far. He's got a tremendous left foot, good trickery and unfortunately we haven't really had a chance to see his free kick speciality yet for the first team. Since Toszer went, we don't really have another fk specialist.

Yes, he was unfit when he first came into the team for 15 mins. He's not the only one of the new arrivals who hasn't been physically ready for the English game. You can see just by his physique and his running in the most recent outing that he's been working really hard on his fitness too.

If Udinese want him, then fine. We certainly owe them plenty. However I hope he stays and I think if he does then a number of the negative posters above might be forced to eat their words....

 

Good to see the small minded , knee jerk opinion we had reserved for Britos has now been transferred to Diamanté .

The guy has not had a chance to prove himself , playing only a few small cameos, so unless anyone on here has been watching him in training everyday and attending matches behind closed doors, on what evidence are they basing their opinions on ?

 

Give the bloke a chance. He was useful when we were down to 10 verses Swansea and didn't do a lot wrong at Leicester. He was consistently looking to play a through ball to the front two which was as good a plan as any.

If he struggles to maintain intensity for a 15 minute cameo, what chance he will be better over a longer period? He's immobile and lazy. That's not going to improve. These rumours of a January exit hint that quique shares that view.

 

How would you square your accusations of laziness with his clearly improved physique over the past month or so? If he was still looking the same and jogging around like the first time we saw him, I'd agree with you. Anyway, I don't suppose we got him for his pace and speed - more for his ability to pick out killer passes and to take set pieces.

Maybe you're right that he doesn't fit and Quique doesn't fancy him and that's why there's muttering about him going. He is taking up a foreign spot and perhaps there's some else (Doumbia?) they have in mind who'd work better.

and he's a mercenary, at the end of the day. For all is supposed talent, unlike Iggy he took the easy money in China instead of challenging himself in the top european leagues. In other words he took the easy way out.

Tells you all you need to know about him, so why would we introduce such a player into a close knit, hard working group of players who love the shirt?

 

His wife is Taiwanese. Maybe it was a family decision? Yours is the first thing I've seen anywhere implying he might be a bad influence.

His wife is Chinese and Marcelo Lippi was his boss in China who Diamanti wanted to play under. The guy has quality and is building up his fitness all the time, I'm not surprised you can't see it through your bizarre obsession with Gueds though. If you think Flores is wrong to bring on Diamanti over Guedioura then maybe you need to consider that Guedioura might not be doing enough to get significant minutes on the pitch.

According to the idiot Spurs fans (and a few on here) Capoue is slow and lazy.

In pretty much every game hes played for Watford, Capoue had covered more distance than any other player on the pitch.

Diamante is not slow and lazy.

 

What does Quique know about anything? He is nothing but a cancer , eating away at our club from the inside out.
