He seems pretty reliable from the few reports of his I have seen, most recently it appears he broke the news of Matuidi to Inter Miami

He's a reporter for a french network by the looks of it, and broke the Matuidi to Beckham FC story so fairly credible

It's not unusual for terms to be agreed with a player/player's entourage before fee negotiations have been completed.

If this happens it won't be the worst thing in the world, if it's for a decent amount of cash it could relieve the pressure on us to sell more of the players we'd rather keep.

It's not unusual for Everton to act in such an underhand manner, I agree.

It's far from being only Everton that do that.

Exactly. How can you agree personal terms before a bid has even been accepted!

Agree. He and Pererya are both in the 'inevitable to leave' category. The only question bid for how much? In that respect Everton are an excellent club to sell to :D

He was/is quality but he clearly didn’t want to be here last season. I have loved watching him play for us, but last season he just wasn’t on it, like most of our squad.

He was certainly not our best midfielder last season, probably our 3rd best behind Hughes and Capoue, which shows how far he had fallen from previous seasons.

He needs a move to kick start his career again. I don’t begrudge him leaving us, as long as we get a decent fee for him, £25mil+, then it’s win for us and him. He’s been a great player for us and will be Everton’s best midfielder.

#WatfordFC Understand Everton have failed with an opening offer for Abdoulaye Doucoure. Watford expected to want an intial fee of at least £25m.

Initial fee of £25m......so that will probably include add-ons to bump that up. We should be getting at least £30m....just because Everton are c***s.

He had one really good season for us IMO, so I reckon he was more or less a one season wonder. Therefore I will not be unhappy to see him go, I just hope Everton or someone else will be mug enough to give us the £25m you speak of Markoa.

  14. Markoa$

Everton will be. They win the transfer window trophy every season.

HB1 just posted that we want at least £25mil upfront for starters then add ons.

Can see us doing a deal with an initial fee of £28.5mil going up to £35mil. Everton are that stupid.

So I guess Everton will have offered c£15m, we've said "we want" £25m (plus sell-on clauses etc) so we will end up settling on about £20m ??

Actually inclined to agree with TVOR that he's been largely very disappointing for quite a long time, certainly longer than he hasn't, and he really appears totally unmotivated/uncoordinated for us. He has a decent amount of responsibility, along with most, for the terrible performances and eventual relegation of last season. If we can get a decent fee for him, I won't shed even a single tear.

You realise how important he was when he didn't play. He was instrumental in setting the tempo whenever we were good. Technically he's short of being a top player due to his passing and more recently his finishing. But he's the best player I've seen at Watford for anticipating loose balls in the middle of the pitch.

We were at our best in the Premier League when Doucoure was hoovering up loose balls and as a result we were starting attacks much further up the pitch. Will be a massive loss, notwithstanding his disappointing last season. Could also see him having a real renaissance surrounded by better players.

His passing is abysmal and I do not agree it was only last season that he was bad, he has really only had one, all be it very good, season for us, and maybe one other half decent season, but that is about it IMO

Reported that he's agreed personal terms but a fee hasn't been agreed. Technically that's tapping up, although it's a common thing, so we can't really complain too much, plus this time it's not like we're gonna dig our heels in over a player whose time here is definitely up

He threw his toys out of the pram at the start of last season when we wouldnt sell him to big 7 side Everton. He was the catalyst of our relegation with his own goal against Brighton and giving away a penalty against Wham. Has been talking up leaving the club for years. I loved him when he was good but cant stand the caant now. One of the senior pros who couldnt be arsed to keep us up. £35m yes please.

Likewise he's only had one bad season with us, and you could make the case that it was because he was put into an unfamiliar position

It should also be noted that his best spell for us was when he was playing alongside chalobah. They formed a really good partnership, which was never replicated alongside Hughes or capoue

I don’t think anyone would be too bothered if he goes.

He is a very good premier league midfielder on his day, but hasn’t been the same player since we turned down Everton’s last bid.

He was also atrocious since the restart and a huge component of our eventual relegation.

25m, plus a couple of million for bonuses, would suit both parties.

I'm pretty sure that they couldn't have got as far as agreeing personal terms without Watford's agreement to speak. I think this dance is fairly standard. That said, I laothe them as well and we should fleece them out of every penny possible. Time to drop rumours about Arsenal, PSG, etc..

including add ons and the money we get selling his PSG replica kit on ebay - he wont be needing that anytime soon!

£10m add ons .......when they qualify for Europe ? When he scores 20+ goals a season ? I wouldn't bank on it.....! I think he'll go for £20-£23m plus maybe a sell-on clause.

£20m is reasonable. Except it’s Everton so I want the club to demand £30m plus £5m if they avoid relegation. £10m if they don’t. Really twist the knife.
