Anything over £15m would be acceptable in my view. Has done very little in the last 2 years. A new start might help him, and would clear some wages off the books. We are fairly well stocked in central midfield. Get rid

£20-25m for me Clive. I'm not gonna be one of those people who when he leaves be like 'ha, he's rubbish', sure, he didn't have the best of seasons last season, but I think a move away would do him good. Everton would be the perfect platform for him, he's far better than what they have, but not good enough for the top teams

I will be laughing all the way to the bank if we get anything like £25m for him, as he is not as good as his rep says he is IMO.

He needs a fresh start and then we will see the Player that was performing a couple of year ago. I think Arsenal could be a great move for him if he was to stay in England. I’d love to see him loaned to an Italian club and come back if we go up with a new lease of life.
But then again that could be a waste of time as his price would drop and nothing to say he would return like the old player. If I was Gino I’d still be looking for £20+ m.

No point in loaning him, we have to get what we can for him while we can still scramble a decent fee. Unlike Sarr (fingers crossed!) there's no chance of him playing Championship football, just let him go and wish him well

I agree but thinking if he was to do well on loan (we get his wages off our books) then we go straight back up we could sell him as a premier league club again potentially raising more funds. Would be a gamble but could be a shrewd move. Could do this with Del Boy too. As for Sarr I really hope he stays.

I think we should get what we can for Doucoure now, because people still seem to rate him ATM, a loan would be too big a risk as people will notice just how bad his passing is and his value will drop even further.

Actually I do, but as you know most football pundits and so called experts haven't got a clue about WFC other than the paper talk and the press haven't got a clue either, so shhhhhhhhhhh we might still get away with it ;)

he's one of our best players and people want him to leave.

If he does leave, who do you think we'll replace him with? you think a better player than him will want to come to the championship?

I think he'll go, but the fact people think we will somehow be improved by his departure and are hoping for it is farcical.

I’m not sure where all the ‘he wasn’t bothered, clearly wanted out’ cliche stuff is coming from.

He’s a great player, I agree wasn’t as good this year, but then very few were, which points to other issues I’d argue. If he goes then I’ll be nothing but grateful for his efforts. One of the best players to have played for us.

Have always thought he’s a great box-to-box midfielder, and performed very well over a period after he finally got his chance.

As with half the team, form seemed to desert him last season which was a shame, but to me the most frustrating thing was how often he’d get played in and either scuff his shot well wide, take too long to pull the trigger, or blaze his shot a mile over. (Think there were one or two of these in the first game back against Leicester, which ultimately probably cost us points in that game alone). Needs to learn to compose himself if he wants to make it to the top of the game.

I absolutely loved watching him, and bumping into him outside the K2 curry house in Apsley before his ‘breakthrough’ season was a highlight, but at this stage, if we can pick up some decent cash for him then I wish him all the best. It’s time for the younger players to get some game time.

Short term it will hurt us, maybe long term for the better though. He hasn’t been at his best for a while but is still preferred over the inexperienced options. Maybe selling him will free up funds to strengthen other areas of the squad and allow a player like Quina or Dele-Bashiru to develop and one day be just as influential (or valuable!).

Didn't he sign a contract last summer?

If so couldn't he be put under the same bracket as Sarr in that he could go but only if our valuation of him is met. Granted his valuation will be lower than Sarr's but it's not like he needs to be sold to avoid running down his contract

I agree that pundits won't know this but they are not buying him. Clubs will know his weaknesses hence he is still at Watford

The big question is whether these players just aren't good enough to play for the first team, maybe even in the championship ? I guess we are going to find out but it's a risky stategy if they're not, given the injury prone nature of the likes of Chalo and Cleverley, and the sheer number and frequency of games.....

Quina looked excellent in the cup v reading or whoever it was the other year when we won 2-0 so maybe he will shine at chumpo leavel. That was a match where our whole second 11 looked superb.

Where the hell did it all go so wrong?

Doucs wanted to leave a while back.

Talent without motivation is no good to us in this situation.

I'd much rather keep Sarr who's still keen, young and learning.

Doucs is one of our best ever midfielders but it's time for him to move on now.

Yes great in that game and a great goal too but since then he'd been pretty wasteful with the ball from what I remember and hasn't impressed managers enough in training to get on the pitch....

Most of us are more than happy to give Quina a chance. But the managers must of seem something during training that they didn't like. Pearson said that there was a few who believed they should be playing but were nowhere fit enough. I believe it showed against Tranmere.
He's got the tools to be a very good player but has he got the right mentality.

I suspect that this is the issue with most of the lads we pick up from PL sides who haven't caught on - as well as some of these highly touted technical blokes like Penaranda. They got a certain distance on raw talent, but never sorted out the extra effort bit. Blokes like Hughes, who put in the extra work get the minutes. All is not lost, however, with maturity the light switches on for some. Hopefully, the combination of seeing an opportunity and a no-nonsense manager will be the right combination for some of them. If from the likes of Dele-Bashiru, Quina, Penaranda, Pedro, Ngakia and Success just 2 turn upwards, we will have something. Even better if 1-2 of the younger U23 or U18s comes along. No idea how the new man thinks about developing younger players or not. Is he "Mourinho-like" and doesn't give a toss about them, or more "Pochettino-like", or perhaps, like Lampard... If you're good enough you're old enough?

I’d love to see some of the younger players step up and do well. Feels like from an age we’ve had such an old stagnant team from Deeney to Foster to Cathcart to Cleverly to Capoue to Gray to Marriappa. The younger players barely get a look in even off the bench.

I wouldn't pin too much hope on Issac Success, he has had more than enough time to get his head down, and just hasn't bothered. For a big old unit he goes down from powder puff challenges, way too easy.

Watford reject the offer so Everton pursue the player anyway and agree terms.

    Typical Everton.....I detest their owner.

Watford have got to screw them over for as much as possible. £35m at least.
