He really is a total waste of a shirt, in my view. He adds nothing that most Div 1 players could offer. I honestly cannot see how anyone can defend him if they actually watch the games.

Where's the Championship top earners table? Bet our not so deadly duo are right at the very top of that.

It needs to be Deeney's last season regardless of whether we go up or not. I can't bear the thought of him being another year older and starting every game next season.

I see Deeney in a different light to many, but I don't view him as a goal scoring centre forward. When he does score it's always a bonus. He's a physical presence, a wind up merchant, a pantomime villain. You need a bit of nasty in your side. I'm not blind to Deeney's faults, however, I still think he has something to offer. Is he worth £70k a week, clearly not, but he's still useful to us for this season.

Ismaila Sarr & João Pedro had a row on the pitch today. Pedro jogged up to Sarr and pushed him and did it again at full time. Troy Deeney told Pedro to calm down. [BBC 5 Live Sport]

I didn't spot that, but it's a bit strange Pedro should do something like this.

Harsh . However his rediculous challenge on a HTFC does not do him any favours.

Amazingly, Leventhal was asked on his post-post-game-press-conference twitter live ramble whether the Pozzo would bring in a striker, and he got 'well, as I understand it...' out before someone apparently shouted at him about needing to take his car out of the car park he was in, and by the time he the finished, he had forgotten the question entirely and never answered it/finished that sentence. It was quite like a comedy sketch. Except I doubt many are laughing.

    upload_2021-1-16_20-12-42.png

His post-game rambles are the most interesting things he does because they are the most off-the-cuff and reacting as a fan, so he is generally more in line with his own thoughts and the thoughts of the fanbase having just watched the match, rather than the party line he adopts in published articles and Q&A's. Admitted that Deeney could have been sent off another day/probably would have been in the Prem with VAR and was as realistically downbeat as any rational person about the nature of the performance overall, particularly in the first half.

There's always that slight glimmer of 'it'll be alright on the night' fantasy, like when he responded to a question about Ivic's future a week before the first Huddersfield game by saying 'wooah, wooah, none of that, don't be silly. Let's see what he does when he's got his full squad available to him'. But still, yeah; if you're going to catch anything of his, you may as well make it them. And, you don't have to be a subscriber to do so.

True - but gray can’t even do what would be expected of a professional footballer. Deeney did ok today, gray was, again, a waste of space. If i was playing with gray i would ******* hate him - lazy coward

Not sure. I didn't see a reason why he would act like that.

The vast majority of the time it is only himself that he is winding up, these days, however.

Maybe if we somehow go down, we will eventually find his and Gray's level.

Yes, Deeney is over the hill. Yes, Grey has always been dreadful. Of course the pair of them are grotesquely overpaid. But do we have to keep saying it for page after page after every game - even when we've won and played pretty well like (I think) we did today?

I didn’t see it but I’d be amazed if Sarr managed to stay on his feet if that occurred.

Pedro can do what he likes. He's one of the very few players in this squad who is at least worthy of the shirt.

In that live ramble, Leventhal said it happened because Sarr was ahead of JP and wanted the ball, didn't get it and started mouthing off to JP, essentially.

They both were and are a waste of space. You could argue that Gray is an even bigger waste of space such is his complete lack of technical ability, but then he played less of the game and physically fills up less space by being less of a fat mess...

They're both 0/10 strikers and I despise the pair of them.

I doubt they really communicate in English as it’s not their first language and one speaks French and the other Portuguese .

So probably just the usual gestures that made it look like a row .

For what they are both paid, and their level of experience, their contribution to the promotion push this season has been shockingly poor. They should both be deeply embarrassed.

Didn't sound like we played great (just for a change) but seemed fairly comfortable all afternoon. Odd tactics by Huddersfield, they must be really bad to sit so deep for 90 minutes against us. Good to see JP getting a goal at the back post, a position which Troy/Andre would never be in. If we can get some consistency in our results then we could end up in the top two. Putting a run together is vital, especially when a fair few of the teams around us keep dropping points.

I don’t think it should be forgotten how depleted their squad was, they had to use two subs who played a few weeks ago in the youth team and had never played for the full team. credit to them for only losing 2-0. I think this is also why our performance was so disappointing

It would be quite interesting I think to know what our opponents think when they see Deeney is in our starting eleven, or indeed isn’t in our team.

Whether or not they buy into the talisman hype, or if they realise he isn’t the player he once was.

I know a lot of our supporters wish he wasn’t starting matches..I wonder what the opposition thinks.

Genuinely didn't know that their squad was so depleted. Makes the result a bit meh really.
