Exactly. Two pretty similar clubs on very similar trajectories and with similar ambitions. Yet their churn of managers barely ever gets mentioned.
Well isn’t Saint Eddie Howe the longest serving PL manager or something? And obviously they’ve only been in the league as long as we have. So pretty much all premier league clubs churn through managers as quickly as we do, it’s just the norm.
Since our current spell in the Premier League - Everton have had more managers/head coaches than us (5 compared to our 4).
I'm gonna bump this in preparation for failing to beat Bournemouth and obvious substitutions not being made. I want to be on the bandwagon early.
Bournemouth will be Gracias most important game yet (already dusting down the Head Coach out banner), lose and he may as well resign, win and he'll he alright until the next match.
I would like to be the first to call for whoever is manager in Xmas 2019 to be sacked, due to incompetence, tactical ineptitude and generally not liking the cut of his jib. Cant state the managers name as I have no idea who it ll be by then.
I don't remember the game but that was my first time at The Vic. It was sunny and I sat on the Vicarage Rd terracing. I had gone to Chelsea and West Ham before that with my Dad but it was love a first sight
Only if you agree to start off a thread to discuss what has been swept under the carpet by the general forum. Did we or did we not sell FF and/or Vydra a tad too early?
About bloody time that we secured his services. Forum has been crying out for him for years. The media will actually like us.
If we go for Pardew over Souness, I dread to think how Stuboy will react. He’d be justified in his outrage, mind you.
Hasn't shown he can adapt to the opposition, is incapable of making timely changes, and his brand of football has reverted to 'hoof to Deeney' in the last couple of matches and isn't even that good to watch Gino needs to think again
The gurning simpleton has been well and truly found out. Same tired starting eleven. Same woeful subs at the wrong time. Same dress sense as a homeless eastern european. His stupid bewildered expression is really going to get on my pips this season.
We all assumed he was a stop gap initially from ssssilva leaving to keep us up and see us through to the end of last season. He did that. His transfers in the summer were O.K at best, but a lack of a new striker and CB is beginning to rear its head again. Whether this is more down to Gino and finds being released is not known. Like has been said time and time again his lack of a plan b in a game is going to get us into trouble if it continues. We will get results like yesterday’s atrocity of a performance occasionally, but it’s how we react. Do we go to Molineux now with a plan if we trail 1-0 at the break? Will he change the system and bring on Chalobah it Delafoo to change it up and get us a grip on the game? I’m not sure he can really. Even with a quite injury free season so far, our discipline record is atrocious. Whether that is down to bad refereeing or just a lack of cool heads is always up for debate, but some of the blame falls back to Gracia for poor game management. He has improved us in some areas and the football in the whole is entertaining to watch, but we have not been taking chances. We can pass the ball around all match but goals earn points. Deeney and Gray are very hot and cold. Can we at least change the formation at Wolves? Perhaps a 3-4-2-1? Give Chalobah a chance in that formation where we know our midfield can work the best.Hughes in the middle and Peyera always plays better in a more central role. Since Holebas is suspended get Mapps in and possibly Wilmott? We have a good squad of player who can play well when the formation is right. When a new game rolls around, look at the opposing side. See what formation they tide and try to counter it. Simple football logic. Gracia is more than capable of doung this. That is what worries me the most though, that he won’t.
The criminal lack of investment in the central defence over the summer is nothing to do with Gracia. I find it hard to give him any grief when the defence implodes. Gracia plays the hand he has been given by Pozzo. He is an average manager who has been given a very average squad by the owner.
The squad is more than good enough not to get turned over 4-0 at home to muff. This is all on the grinning idiot. He put Kabasele and Cathcart into a no win situation with his dumb ass tactics, everyone knows Howe's favoured tactic of overloading the wings, yet we still had Pereyra and Hughes playing inside, Holebas wandering all over the pitch taking corners and throw ins but rarely in his left back position, and Femenia who's an offensive wing back not a defensive full back. Gracia handed the wide areas to muff on a plate.
