If Atletico aren't able to spend the money to take him, I highly doubt any other continental club will, and Prem clubs aren't going to take a risk, far more likely they go for the likes of Deeney and Welbeck. Whether him staying with us would be actually a good thing or not, I'm not sure

When I tweeted his article as clickbait, the guy liked my tweet. Weird.

No the perfect scenario would be we sell our cast offs for £150m rather than £80m. FFS Gino, HB1 could get double the prices you’re getting.

My gut feel is we won’t get fees for TD or Welbeck and, due for the contracts they are on, it will cost us to get rid.

 

On Welbeck if it is true he has a big appearance bonus I’d imagine if nobody wants him he either rots or renegotiates or mutual termination. I agree Deeney is a big problem.

 

Feel like we are gambling waiting on desperate clubs in the run up to deadline day, which is a risky game to play.

 

Welbeck will cost us a fortune though to play. Whilst others are on big money, they will get that regardless of playing so you may as well include them. If we can save the rumoured £50k a week on Welbeck by not playing him, it’s at least understandable.

Marcos Paulo does not appear to be a new target for Marseille, he's been linked with them for a while already.

Why might it be helping Marseille to put those name out? If they can't pay more than €13mil then we just tell them to get lost.

We should be looking to fleece Marseille if they really are interested. Payback for the Gueye situation.

I can’t see us selling him for anything less than 15m, and I simply don’t think they have that kind of free cash.

I’m actually not opposed to us selling Suarez if the right money is on offer. I fear another Acuna situation.

Yes. Acuna mark II is a concern. That guy was hyped up even more than Suarez and proved utterly incapable of adapting to the pace of the championship. The Suarez highlights reel does little to allay my fears as it is full of penalties and many unopposed openings. Who knows how he'd deal with death or glory man and ball interceptions in the championship.

 

As I've pointed out earlier here, at least the club have now been able to see Suarez training in the UK for a few weeks, it should help to give them a sense of whether he is indeed the real deal, or if he'll struggle to adapt.

 

There was one pass that Suarez made against Scunthorpe that was better than anything Deeney has produced in the last 4 years. And he was stood in the right area of the pitch when he made it. Refreshing.

As much as I love to criticise Deeney, he is usually a reasonable passer of the ball in and around the box as we have seen whenever he plays with a strike partner.

The issue tends to be more that he is supposed to be the receiving the passes and putting them in the net.

 

This is true. Actually he’s got a great pass on him. Just can’t get there when it comes to receiving a pass.
