Doesn't mean it's happening, but it is hypothetically possible that negotiations can be ongoing without an "official bid" being made.
According to Swansea fans he was shocking against Newport today. Lots of fans saying he seemed off and was distracted. Few comments of his head had been turned. A couple even saying get rid and sell him.
Cool. Let's arrange a swap deal with Giraldi. That way they'll get a regular influx of new talents over the next few years. In fact, they could probably sack their entire coaching team too, will save them a few quid.
Is hs really that good? As I said I watched Swansea four or five times last season and I didn't really take notice of him. Rodon was always the standout performer. But if he's coming to fit Vlads style of play I'm all up for it. But with Cash and Eze going for big money especially during this climate surely he's going to be out of range? More than likely after the Barca guy on loan I believe.
As much as I’d like him, it’s only been mildly reported so not sure I’d go as far as ‘more than likely’ just yet.. I’d say it’s more than likely we get someone entirely underwhelming and cheap. Or from Udinese reserves.
Yep haha. I couldn’t be bothered to tell I’m an Englishman living in America. That concept would have gone over his head.
Guess if we are serious about him the reason we haven't put in an official bid in yet is because we are waiting on the Doucoure deal to be confirmed. Hopefully we see both deals starting to happen early next week.
If we can move Capoue on then he is the ideal replacement. Directing operations from deep and breaking up attacks. Might not seem much but great in a countering team. Under Ivic we will expect a very high possession percentage so he can move further forward and switch play which as Ivic showed yesterday he likes. He can be coached to hit more shots and use that initial touch of his where he creates space to more effect further up the pitch. Quina/Hughes/Chalobah/ would be a nice balance. Perhaps we are waiting for another outgoing player to afford him. Chump players are no longer cheap especially the better ones. Think many of the Jack fans are a little bitter about a possible departure so are doing him down.
I'd be very very surprised if we are prepared to pay enough for Swansea to sell to us. The minute someone else is linked to him we can kiss this one goodbye.
https://twitter.com/NoContextHumans/status/1297981857703833607 Swansea is the shopkeeper and we are the customer in the colourful 90's gear.
It does seem to have gone very quiet on this deal. We have now lost Doucoure (as expected) and seem to want rid of Capoue. Hughes injured as well. Badly need some CM reinforcements.
The thing is, now we've sold Doucoure for such a low figure, they'll bulk at paying £15m for Grimes, which is what I expect Swansea will be asking.
Is this fella worth 15m? Villa have ruined our chances of snapping him up cheaply due to there crazy valuations they're paying for Championship players.
No way can we afford to pay £15m given the low player sale income. Maybe half of that with the balance conditional on promotion this season or next ?
Oh this thread has got some new comments on it after having gone quiet for a few days, wonder if there's been some movement on this deal? No, just someone posting some random video from Twitter. Great stuff! Right up there with bumping threads from years ago and fake links about transfers.
Maybe let's continue a forum wide argument about wages or a discussion about a completely separate player in here. I wonder what Phil Fodden is on per week?
