I wonder how we will find out if Silva is staying?

Presumably only when EFC announce LvG/some French guy/Rooney as player/manager.

Not Pozzo style to say anything. Strictly need to know basis.

EFC would look hopeless & shabby if they say anything before new mgr confirmed.

If their second choice takes as long to woo as Silva, this thread will assume Vydraesque proportions, potentially even Smithian proportions.

If Van Gaal (or anybody else) does indeed end up taking the job at Everton, it'll be an interesting relationship that he has with the club - him knowing that he wasn't the club's first choice, and the club knowing that he knows this !

Dyche would have jumped at the chance of the Everton job SOON after Koeman was sacked, but now he knows he would only be a "last resort" or 5th/6th choice after Allardyce, Silva and numerous other foreigners.

He may still want the job but it is less likely with Burnley on such a good run SINCE the Koeman sacking. Maybe SD thinks - with a good January transfer window and AWAY games against Man City, Chelsea, Spurs and Liverpool already out of the way - there is an outside chance of a 7th-placed finish. As is stands, only one point stands between us and a Champions League placing.

The more I look at it , I don't think our man's going anywhere. I would absolutely love it if Gino and Marco have played the toffees for a good'un and strung him along for the last fortnight booting the ball into the open goal that he's so obviously provided. What a laugh that would be.

However, maybe I'll wake up tomorrow morning to different news. In which case, we'll need to mark the occasion in February.
