Some fair points. Depends on what colour your glasses are on most of them as agreed. I have highlighted the point I have an issue with and can’t agree with. Where is his ‘desire’ to ‘get out’ of the job? You’ve labelled him classless on an a statement he hasn’t made and papertalk. He’s shown more desire to get on with things as shown by our performance on Sunday than to make any definitive statements of whether he is or isn’t interested. In the circumstances, I’m happy to accept that situation.

I'm not suggesting we wouldn't do it, but the transfer budget figures is just self-defeating. We could easily tell that figure to his agent without alerting clubs about how much money we are likely to have burning a hole in our pockets

I am also concerned that we have put all our eggs in this basket (if this is the case) as, unless there is stuff we are unaware of, the chances of this actually happening are probably not in our favour at this point

 

I'll take that one on the chin. In your position, I would want my manager to simply refute any speculation and say he will be Watford manager this season or words to that effect. I'll accept he hasn't said "I want to join Everton", but I would be wanting him to quash speculation rather than invite by refusing to deny anything.

Again, it comes back to the point about this being so early. If this were happening 12 months from now, I'd have less of a problem with it.

You do make some good points but putting most of the blame on Silva is misguided. My problem is Moshiri who has been told quite clearly (as reported) by Gino to go away after bidding twice. If it was down to honourable Mr. Kenwright I am pretty sure you would already have hired Dyche or someone without a job, like LVG. If Everton persist (backed by their media friends) for much longer I hope you get reported to the EPL for tapping up. Come back for Silva in the summer if you like but we don't need the money right now. In the meantime hire Unsworth who has been treated disgracefully by your owners. Moshiri is Iranian. Someone posted it on their forum yesterday but it was soon found to be a hoax.

 

This could be solved relatively easily if managers had a transfer window just like players. I appreciate its slightly different with managers, they perform badly and they get sacked, players don’t. It could still work however. More clubs would probably wait until the transfer window to sack their manager which wouldn’t necessarily be a bad thing. They’d have their pick of unemployed managers of course, but if they wanted to poach another manager they’d have a specific window to do it. It seems ridiculous that a manager could sign a contract and then decide to move to another club a quarter of the way through a season. If a manager gets sacked he gets his contract paid up so he is no worse off for it.

 

Also the number of fake ITK twitter posts that they link to on their forum is funny and yet most of them believe the posts. Such as Silva was in talks last night, compensation is all that is left to be agreed...

Taking that point, seems fairly odd that Dyche has been perfectly okay saying ‘Got a job to do here’ and ‘been no approach to him’ and no one questions him anywhere. But Silva does the same and his head has been turned. He’s more or less said exactly the same things, just heightened by the fact he’s now favourite!

I don't agree with all of his points, but they have been made coherently & without too much bias.

Interestingly, most of the replies from this forum have been fairly dignified too. Healthy debate all around without resorting to petty name-calling.

 

Not sure who we’d get in if, as seems almost inevitable now, Silva leaves but would be quite funny if it became official at say 4pm and we had a press conference announcing our new manager at 5 who then waxes lyrical about how well Watford went about their business.

Think he's in China now. What would be class is to screw Everton over a world record fee for a manager who even we have doubts about. The swagger aside there are many instances he's been found wanting. We get the man in we really wanted and Everton and Silva (who clearly deserve each other) can wallow in whatever follows for them both.

Ah. So this has all been a Watford plot to keep Everton in a state of flux while we get on with our progress.

Correct me if I'm wrong here but since the Pozzos arrived in 2012 have we sold anyone that we didn't want to sell/lose to another club? So for us this is new territory, I don't know whether Udinese have other than selling players at their peak value.

 

More of a case of if they generally make a habit of keeping people who don’t want to say. Not saying this is definitely the case here but if Silva really wants to go it’s a different matter to Deeney and Leicester for example.

 

And wait until they unsettle 7th place Burnley over Dyche! Masterplan! Haha
