Ok If Walter is gonna be the new HC and likes 352 we need high quality wingbacks can Layun (if he comes back and Anya )cut it next season
You mean the Layun who's scored in the Champions League this season and has been tearing it up for Porto, who are a far better and bigger club than us?
Not sure he'll be allowed to take his bow on to the pitch but the big pointy ears will come in handy for hearing over the crowd.
Looks like Getafe will be relegated from La Liga this evening barring a dramatic turnaround. Pablo Sarabia has 7 goals and 6 assists for them this season in 30 games (according to this link http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/pablo-sarabia/profil/spieler/74230) which in a team going down is pretty good. Surely not going to play in the segunda, worth buying? (And Franco Vazquez, another name mentioned last summer, has just showed his class to score a goal that should make Palermo safe in Serie A)
Scored in the only game (I think) he had? Might of played another to be fair but can't be arsed to check
Yeah West Brom at home. He was pretty awful, but then he was quite high up the pitch and not at left back.
Silly argument to be honest. He's done well in the Champions League, done well for Mexico, done well for Porto domestically Scored in the PL (more than Jurado) so surely there's more evidence to say he would cut it? Rather than you just making the assumption he won't?
Plus he was playing in the wrong position for us (as usual with QSF). He was playing at CM when he should have been playing at left back, which is where his fantastic form has been from.
Norway Hornet asked if Layun could cut it. Reids responded saying 'the same Layun who' and then posted about his performances in the Portuguese league and his goal in the CL. I simply responded by saying that doesn't mean he will necessarily cut it in the PL. Then you replied saying he scored in his 1 game in the PL, when it turns out his other PL game was poor (I was away this summer so also didn't know that) Again I said thats no guarantee he will make it in the PL. To summarize, Norway asked if he could cut it. You and Reids seemed to think it was a stupid question and he would. I simply said we don't know that yet.
Tbf, i've no idea if he can cut it in the PL, but based on his season at Porto, in the unlikely chance we get him back, it'd be criminal based on his season at Porto not to give him a chance in his favoured position.
I agree with you there, he deserves a chance if he comes back. Would like us to have someone else than Layun and Anya as LBs though, so hopefully if he does come back we either sign another or hold on to Holebas
At one point this season Layun was averaging a goal every 13 minutes in the Premier League. If he had maintained that for the entire season he would have finished the season with 263 league goals, comfortably the top scorer in the division. Can he cut it? Ha.
True. But if you then look at all his prem minutes after that point (a larger and therefore more reliable sample size) he didn't score at all. Extrapolating that out he will never score again no matter how many years he plays. We can't have an outfield that could play for 10 years and never score so I'm out.
