I'd love to have Ashley back, and wonder if having got himself well minted at Utd, if he would consider a (considerable) drop in wages and wearing the awesome yellow shirt once more.
Seeing Ashley Young play as one of the attacking midfielders in our new team would be absolutely glorious. Can't see it happening though, he's almost certainly near £100k a week at Man Utd. Also reported to be rejecting Tottenham to sign a new deal at Man Utd.
Jonathan Douglas, as an experienced home grown back-up? Honestly don't know if he's any good but got some good reviews last season. Just released by Brentford.
Tino-Sven Susic Never ever heard of him but apparently some of the big clubs are looking at him. Apparently he can play CM or AM across the three. Bosnian international and according to transfer market, could be a bargain buy at £3-4mil. Looks like he has a good left peg in the video in which he does no wrong. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=puNl7hPTJYk
Pick the booze up, noticed that Isaac cuenca is a free agent currently. Injury prone and probably no room in the 17 but could get his career back on track. He was good on FM a while ago after all....
Simon Burnton @Simon_Burnton 8m8 minutes ago I spoke to Udinese's chief scout Andrea Carnevale this morning. He told me #watfordfc 'still have a couple of signings to make this week'
I'm not suggesting we should sign him as I've not seen enough of him play to have an opinion but I just wouldn't rule out interest.. We were linked with signing Libor Kozak before he signed for villa he's just back from a bad injury. He might be available and wouldn't be too surprised if there was renewed interest.
Moses Odbadjo has a bid accepted from unnamed premiership side 3.5m buyout clause. Heavily linked with everton earlier in the summer but wouldn't be surprised if we had a look too. hull have offered 9m for him and andre grey but you assume he'll want premier league football if available too him.
Was v impressed with him when he featured for Orient in the League 1 13/14 playoffs. Young and homegrown.. we are in desperate need of the latter. Could be us.
Link for Hull double bid.. http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11714/9935712/hull-city-bid-1639m-for-brentford-duo-moses-odubajo-and-andre-gray Link explaining buy out clause and mentions everton link http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/brentford-eye-bidding-war-hull-9774381
Pretty sure Blackburn have already denied any approach for Gestede from us. Anyway it's likely we leave a slot empty as it will be much easier to sign a quality loan if a gap appears through injury first (and in any position) ... all clubs want their young starlets to get game time.
Interesting transfer pull together on WD Sports.. Seems.. Club have finally conceeded defeat over Perotti as he doesn't want to move countries. Inler was considered, but the Recruitment Committee felt he was too much like Capoue. Plus wages too high. Immers was never a serious option. Club wanted Gestede as an Option B and offered £5 million. But then QSF arrived and said the long-ball option wasn't for him.
It is still going to be very busy until the window shuts then. Moses Odbadjo could well be one we're looking at. Fits in with everything written in the article. Will be very interesting to see who is on the way.
Nathan Ake, Moses Odubajo & Adelene Guediora wouldn't be a bad week. Odubajo is just pure conjecture but you'd assume would also see Parades leave the club in some capacity
...as it was pointed out a hundred times over the last 10 weeks on the ' lets buy a championship donkey ' thread
Kostas Mitroglu? I know we're supposedly not looking for a striker anymore, but I still think we need back up. His £4.2m switch to Benfica is all but confirmed. Consistent scoring record and never really given a look in at Fulham due to injury. Would have been a good back up option and reasonably priced.
Alex Pritchard has just signed a new long term deal. Usually what these big clubs do before they send a decent youngster out on loan isn't it?...
Iturbe could be an interesting one for that wing position up for grabs. Tried to sign him two summers ago before he ended up at Verona, and Roma are now looking to get rid.
Good shout (after hastily checking his wiki and his vids) I suppose it depends on how much Roma want . Edit although after reading this I`m not to sure http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2441507-romas-juan-iturbe-big-money-failure-or-misused
It seems that he could be off to Genoa on loan ... If we could also strike a loan deal with view to buy, could be worth a go? Would really like to see a big name winger to come in.
Adomah has told Middlesbrough he wants to leave apparently, tapped up by someone who wants to purchase a homegrown winger....?
http://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/aug/26/leicester-demarai-gray-birmingham-fee Odd that they're only paying £4.7m. I'm sure Bournemouth had been offering more than that earlier in the summer.
Agreed. Odd that WD Sport said we were put off by the fee for him, less than £5m for Gray could look like a bargain in a year or two.
