Not sure if you're a bit slow on the uptake Travis, but I'll try again.

Most people aknowledge that Bournemouth fully deserve it. However some people find their gamesmanship distasteful. Are you unable to compute this basic distinction?

Arakel asked you earlier in the thread why Hull/Cardiff/Leicester/Burnley did not generate the same animosity in recent years. You just shouted about people being bitter and childish and went off on your way.

It would help if you actually read what people post.

Other things aside, what an amazing purchase Matt Richie was for 500k. Think he'll do really well in the Premier League.

Jumbolina, you wouldn't talk to me or any other person on here in that way face to face, so why don't you slow down a bit from behind your keyboard? Have faith that you are talking to someone with a brain in his head here, so you can be quite confident I understand what I am reading and writing.

There is enough on this thread and many others on this subject that I comfortably consider to be childish/bitter/classless - whatever you want to call it

If you want to have a whinge about Bournemouth fine, but don't get personal

If you look at when Bournemouth scored their penalties, majority of the time they'd of won regardless - I think they made up 6 points through penalties in the Blackburn, Brighton and Wolves matches.

I cba to look up those penalties but would be interesting to see if they were one of the controversial decisions.

I think one of the issues that Bournemouth fans have raised themselves is that if Wilson attempted to shot rather than draw the foul he would have got a lot more goals this season and there would be a lot less ire amongst rival fans towards them.

    Yeah. Okay Travis

Feel free to call our fans who don't agree with you "thick and angry" and then squeal when someone else thinks you might be missing the point. Pathetic.

  10. So, let me get this straight. Bournemouth got 5 more pens than anyone else. Therefore these 5 were invalid. Having established that, all those 5 penalties were in games that turned on the penalty to turn a loss into a win; therefore +3 x 5 =15 points.

    Really?

At this point the correct thing to do would be to come on here and say 'I'm sorry, I was being a bit silly there. If we can just forget it now and move on..."

I was just looking at the valuations that Bournemouth bloke posted up..... Am I right in thinking that Callum Wilson actually cost 5 times more than our first team that started against Brighton? :]]

    Gomes - Free
    Angella - Free
    Cathcart - Free
    Connolly - Loan
    Paredes - Free
    Guédioura - Loan
Watson - 100k or something? (Contract was expiring)
    Abdi - Free
    Anya - Free
    Ighalo - Free
    Deeny - £500k?

Total transfer fees spent - £600k?

Okay there's fees to be paid now we're promoted but still.

The irony of being annoyed with Bournemouth and their diving antics , we have our fair share , not just FF , over the last 3 seasons that match Bournemouth theatricals , and the irony of being annoyed that some rich blokes bankrolling them , when we just played a season with more or less a team worth millions , which we didnt pay anything for......until now

look guys FFS.....both ourselves and Muff deserve to be promoted.....who gives a toss about the conspiracy stuff, both teams have excited us and our opposition fans, so please just let the Cherries fans enjoy their hard won moment in Football history....they deserve it as much as we do

If we had played the same all out, attacking football all season and it had not been acknowledged, there would be uproar on here

    Let's just focus on Saturday!!

Listen you've had a mare on here, and seemingly more people are in agreement that slagging the cherries is small minded and classless. I haven't missed any point because there isn't one.

Now wind your neck in and enjoy our promotion

I think we should all endeavour to be more classy in future.

I will start by labeling people as bitter, thick and angry instead of talking about an opinion. Apparently that's how it's done.

You miss the point. Yet again.

I think Chelsea are a cracking team but I don't like their antics.

    Am I small minded?

Why do you have such an issue with people having their own opinions about teams. You like Bournemouth. I'm not a fan. We both think they are a strong team. Is that simple enough? Or will you not rest until I agree with you?

  18. That's what I don't understand why this 'love obsessed Bournemouth' lot can't understand, a lot of Watford fans appreciate they have done well to get to the PL...a lot of us feel they haven't exactly engratiated themselves this season in the manner they have played (or playing us), look at their number of cards and penalties, and the online fans have been slating us all season (okay I admit the fan forum online may not be totally representative and there are many good Muff fans out there)...but just don't expect everyone to love them and want to congratulate them.....I personally don't like them that much...who knows next season that might change, and I hope , as a smaller teams, we both will survive what might be an onslaught from the big boys in the PL...

This thread is tinpot and a little embarrassing.

Firstly, we aren't exactly a team of Kevin Muscat's ourselves - we have been known to be a little theatrical at times! Bournemouth are better at it than most and have definitely had the rub of the green with decisions, but every team tries it on and we are not in a place to criticise too heavily.

Secondly, we had Elton to propel us up the divisions, they have this Russian bloke. Its not a crime to have a rich owner. We have our own rich owner, its just that our setup which means we don't get put on the big spender chart.

The media love-in isn't the fault of the club or the fans. Its very annoying, but if it was us I'm sure we wouldn't mind too much. Will probably take the limelight off us next season anyway as it did this one.

The only reasonable criticism that we can give without leaving our glass house is that Eddie Howe is a ****ing moron for coming out with all that guff about a conspiracy, which I would hope has lost him a lot of respect from a lot of people. Idiot.

We should concentrate on ourselves possibly being champions - if we win the division then who cares what anyone else has done? Especially when they aren't a million miles away from ourselves.

The amount of money this Demin fellow has put into Bournemouth dwarfs that Elton John put in. Furthermore SEJ had a genuine link to the club. This oligarch turned up when he decided to join Candleface at Sandbanks.

Not to mention a large core of the squad that went up the divisions with God were there from the fourth tier to at least the second. The only reason they have survived not having FFP imposed is because of the owner. And that alone riles many fans.

  25. Arakel

I don't care that Muff have a rich owner.

What does bother me is that the media continue to pretend that they've pulled off this against the odds miracle because they haven't got a pot to **** in. Only Forest, Boro and Leeds have spent more on transfers since 2013. The media's crappy research is hardly Muff's fault but as the article Smudger posted shows, reality and the reported story have little in common.

The amusing bit is that in terms of financial outlay and risk, Bournemouth have spent way more than us. That's obviously down to our unique set up (only an idiot would argue our arrangement isn't a competitive benefit) but it's still factually accurate. In fact I doubt there are many teams who have been promoted spending as little as we have and publishing virtually £0 in losses. Say what you like about our system but it's very sustainable and the executive staff have done a brilliant job. We've not been haemorrhaging money en-route to success.

Why is there over 300 posts on a thread about another club when OUR TEAM has literally just been promoted?

Who ****ing cares about Bournemouth? of course they'll get more media attention than us. They've risen up the divisions, got a young Britiah manager and a British squad: Perfect ingredients for a lot of coverage.

Why the chuffing hell are people continually banging on about them on here?! Let's enjoy OUR moment.....WE ARE IN THE FRICKING PREMIER LEAGUE FFS. Let's enjoy every moment!!!

Firstly congratulations to Bournemouth. They have consistently played the most exciting, slick, fast, attacking football in our division this season (and that includes us). There is something refreshing about the two clubs in the top six with the smallest fan bases and the smallest stadiums and who have scored the most goals being the two who have made it to the promised land automatically. And they've never been there before so of course they will be very excited. I'm not bitter about their success at all (although I might have been had they pipped us to second on goal difference and we'd lost out!). Neither am I bitter about the media attention they attract. Irrespective of the finances, theirs is currently a bigger fairy story than ours.

But then there's the other thing ...

They have been criticised throughout the season for diving and cheating and getting in the ref's face on an industrial scale, not only by us but on other contenders' forums too. Why is that when previous winners and runners-up haven't received the same treatment? Surely everyone loves a plucky underdog. I'd suggest it's because there's a case to answer. We all have players who have tried it on a bit on occasion but we and others haven't made an art form of it. Surprisingly they do seem to have toned it down a bit in recent weeks though.

BournemouthVisitor's #243 was very fair and even handed. He freely admitted that some of their own fans were critical of some of their players for 'going down to easily' and the Arter dive for a pen against Boro in particular. He was appreciative that our sending off against them was the wrong decision and altered the whole complexion of the match and that Wilson tends to buy pens and red cards rather than get a shot in. Well Eddie Howe must know that too then both in regard to falling over in general and with regard to Wilson in particular. So I suggest he sanctions it rather than discourages it especially in regard to the double whammy to be gained from Wilson's antics. Strip those out of the equation and their stats might start to look a whole lot less polarised. Howe got upset when normal service was disrupted against Wednesday. On Monday night normal service was resumed.

On their stats. What is it now? 16 v 2 pens and 10 or 11 v 3 red cards. I said on a recent thread that their pens (taken at face value only - nothing sophisticated Otter!) had gained them +4 points and ours, on balance, had gained us +2. Now, after the final minute v Wednesday, that stat is equal at +2 each. Bizarre but true and it must have come as a real shock to them to see the first pen scored against them all season cost them two points at the death and send us top! Of course pens in combination with red cards for the opposition might have gained them far more. BournemouthVisitor admits to one dodgy pen and two red cards. On similar evidence we might suggest more. An objective observer would probably suggest something inbetween.

Stevohorn @#61 doesn't seem to think cheating at football's that important. I disagree. It's one of the three things that are most important to address added to too much money (which compromises all sorts of things although I guess you can't knock the prem product too much seeing as it entertains the entire planet on their TV screens and now we're gonna benefit too) and assisting the ref with technology. Addressing the latter will assist in addressing cheating too. Does Wilson cheat? Maybe not. He doesn't make the defender clatter him but it is underhand.

    - A Scummer recently broke the record for most likes on a thread when he posted on here in support of Nic. Congratulations cyaninternetdog for breaking the record for individual dislikes on a single thread. Correct me if I'm wrong old-timers. Strange behaviour for a Buddhist anyway.

    - Stevohorn @#98. Yes, you are allowed to use the word 'bitter'. But you're not allowed to use the phrase 'battered an eylid' unless you're making an oblique reference to dwindling North Sea fish stocks.

    - Thank you some of you for having a bit of a fight in here. This will at least allow me to go for a coffee break ...

I'm not bothered where Bournemouth got their money, how they play, who their manager is or what he says. They've done a fantastic job in getting promoted and deserve congratulations. I'd have been annoyed if we weren't going up as well, but that'd be the same whoever went up instead of us.
