Despite the irritating decision to merge this thread with an old one, thus removing my excellent pun and making it harder to find, here's the latest irregular update on our loan players. Not a great week for those continuing their development elsewhere...

Star loanee of the week is Dennon Lewis, who scored the equaliser for struggling Woking as they scrambled a 1-1 draw with Guiseley in the Vanerama League.

Berghuis played 79 minutes for Feyenoord in their 3-1 win over Den Haag. No assists, no goals, most interesting thing about the game was the behaviour of the fans, which was a stark contrast to what happened at West Ham - https://www.theguardian.com/football/2016/sep/11/feyenoord-ado-den-haag-cuddly-toys-eredivisie. Feyenoord still have a 100% record and are top of the league.

Obbi Oulare is injured but his Zulte Waregem team won again (5-1 at Mouscron) and are also top of the table. Watched some of this game as it was on Belgian TV and can't see Oulare getting much game time at all, their game is based on quick counter-attacking and their forwards look quite handy.

Mario Suarez subbed off at half time as Valencia lost 3-2 at home to Betis. He's getting a lot of stick on Twitter from Valencia fans for getting caught on the ball in dangerous positions, something that sounds familiar...

Tommie Hoban played the full match for Blackburn who drew 1-1 away at QPR. Blackburn are bottom and haven't won yet. Hoban didn't seem to be mentioned much in any of the reports so can only presume he didn't do anything particularly good or bad.

Uche Agbo played the whole game for Granada as they lost 2-1 at home to Eibar, who had their keeper sent off after half an hour. Agbo played in central midfield, having started the season as a centre back.

Penaranda was an unused sub and Sven Kums didn't make the squad as Udinese won 1-0 at Milan. Ex-hornet Angella came on as sub for the last half hour. Early days in the season but so far Penaranda has played 22 mins out of three games for Udinese.

Alex Jakubiak was an unused sub as Fleetwood drew 2-2 with Charlton.

Granada B lost for the first time this season, 1-0 away at AD Merida. Pervis Estupinan not in the squad and Ally Malle got on as a second half sub.

    Very interesting, thanks for these!

Only thing I noticed was that Kums played the full match for Udine, I managed to watch some of it and he looked nice and tidy

Apologies for putting this here as he is an ex not a loanee but Sean Murray didn't get off the bench for Swindon in their 2-0 defeat away to,local rivals Oxford, obviously they were not impressed with his previous debut cameo when he came on and gave away a penalty 4 mins later!

Lewis was motm for Woking tonight. Hoban went off injured for Blackburn, hopefully nothing too serious.

Bit of a boring update this week, and another somewhat unsuccessful weekend for the loanees.

Star loanee this weekend is Tommie Hoban who played the full 90 of Blackburn's 4-2 victory over Rotherham. No idea if he played well or not but seeing as he went off injured mid-week, he gets the nod for getting back on the pitch and getting the regular football he needs under his belt.

Steven Berghuis played 63 minutes for Feyenoord in their 1-0 win away at PSV. Feyenoord keep their 100% record but it was Berghuis' direct replacement Basacikoglu who set up the goal. He also played an important part in their goal against current whipping boys Manchester United on Thurs too, so will be interesting to see if Berghuis keeps his spot.

Mario Suarez managed 66 minutes as Valencia lost 2-1 at Bilbao. Valencia are rock bottom of La Liga, having lost four out of four.

Sven Kums played the full game for Udinese as they conceded two late goals to lost 2-1 at home to Chievo.

Dennon Lewis played the whole game for Woking as they beat Wrexham 2-0.

Pervis Estupinan played the whole game as Granada B lost to Lorca.

Four of our loanees didn't make it onto the pitch this weekend: Oulare (Zulte Waregem, injured); Jakubiak and Penaranda (Fleetwood and Udinese, unused subs); and Agbo (Granada, dropped from squad).

Finally, an update on the mysterious Juan Camillo Becerra Maya - the young Colombian hotshot who randomly appeared on our Premier League squad list as an underage player - he scored his first two goals last weekend for Granada's Academy team against Almeria.

It's Sunday evening, so that means it's time to see how the Loan Rangers are getting on...

Hats off to Super Mario Suarez, this weekend's star loanee with a goal in Valencia's first win of the season, 2-1 away at Leganes. I don't think the commentator realised that Suarez wafted out a leg to deflect it in when he started the whole "Golazo!" nonsense:

Steven Berghuis was subbed off at 2-0 as Feyenoord ran out 5-0 winners against Roda to remain top of the league with 7 wins out of 7. No goals or assists for the Berg today but he did net against some tinpot team in the Dutch cup in midweek.

Tommie Hoban played the full 90 as Blackburn came from behind to win 2-1 at Derby, a game dominated by former Hornets, with a goal for Vydra assisted by Anya and a reply from Danny Graham. Hoban's started every league game since moving there and Blackburn fans seem to have taken to him.

Adalberto Penaranda made his first start for Udinese this afternoon and Sven Kums also played as they lost 1-0 at Sassuolo. Flicked this on for the second half only to see Penaranda subbed after 15 mins after touching the ball about twice. Kums looked solid if unspectacular but I was mainly struck by how boring the game was and reminded why I tend to avoid watching Italian football.

Alex Jakubiak made his debut for Fleetwood, coming on as a 28th minute sub as his team lost 4-1 at home to MK Dons. Jakubiak did score in midweek for Fleetwood's u23s and Uwe Rosler said he should be involved a lot more as the fixtures are coming thick and fast.

Dennon Lewis played the whole game as Woking went down 3-1 at Tranmere.

Obbi Oulare is still injured so didn't make the squad as his Zulte Waregem team fought back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 and remain top of the league.

Pervis Estupinan played the full game as Granada B drew 1-1 with UD Melilla. Granada are playing tomorrow about the same time as us, and Uche Agbo is back in the squad.

Edit: Just checked what was wrong with Oulare, as that's a few games he's missed now. It appears he's broken a bone in his foot and will be out for at least a couple of months.

This week's exciting loan news as follows:

Star loanee is Ally Malle, who scored his first goal for Granada B after coming on as a sub in their 2-1 defeat at home to Murcia. Pervis Estupinan was on the bench.

Steven Berghuis missed Feyenoord's 2-0 win at Willem II with a knee injury and has also had to drop out of the Netherlands squad. His replacement (Basacikoglu) set up the first goal for Feyenoord who remain top and still have their 100% record.

Turns out my injury update on Obbi Oulare last week was cobblers as he lumbered on for the last four minutes of Zulte Waregem's 1-1 home draw with Charleroi. Zulte stay top of the league and in typically zany Belgian fashion have become the first team to introduce a woman-only stand: http://deredactie.be/cm/vrtnieuws.english/videozone_ENG/1.2783537

Villain of the week is Mario Suarez who gave away the penalty as Valencia lost 2-0 at home to Atletico Madrid. The penalty was missed but the Valencia fans seem to have had enough of Suarez. There are some pretty unpleasant comments about his performance and general standard of play on Twitter.

Tommie Hoban played the full game as Blackburn lost 1-0 away at Birmingham and slipped back into the relegation zone. Tommie H has been called up again for Ireland's u21s.

Uche Agbo was dropped from the squad as Granada lost 1-0 at home to Leganes. Granada are now bottom of the table, without a win all season but Agbo has been called up to the Nigeria squad for the first time.

Sven Kums played the whole game as Udinese lost 3-0 at home to Lazio but Adalberto Penaranda was dropped to the bench after his first start last week.

Alex Jakubiak was an unused sub for Fleetwood, who drew 1-1 with Sheffield United. Dennon Lewis played the whole game as Woking drew 3-3 at home to Eastleigh but didn't score or assist any of the goals.

Finally, here's a cracking goal from this weekend involving two players that we continually loaned out before eventually binning - Uche Ikpeazu with the barnstorming run and cross and Piero Mingoia doing his best Van Basten impression:

Have to disagree with that! Ighalo's was a snap volley/half-volley which I thought was far harder than most gave him credit for. Penaranda has the ball on the deck, it's really really bad.

What a difference an international break makes... Mario Suarez is the star performer this week, hitting two goals as Valencia won 2-1 away at Sporting Gijon. That makes it three in the last three games, prior to that he'd only scored three goals in the last six seasons.

Steven Berghuis made his return from injury for Feyenoord as a 66th minute sub and was involved in both their goals as they came from behind to win 2-1 at NEC and move to 9 wins out of 9. Stevey B hit the post with a shot from outside the box and the rebound was tapped in for the equaliser, then won an important header(!) to set up the injury time winner. Goals here:

    http://voetbaltube.com/goals/nederland/samenvatting-nec-feyenoord-1-2-doelpunt-jorgensen-kramer

Also having a good weekend was Tommie Hoban, who played the whole game as Blackburn kept their first clean sheet of the season, drawing 0-0 at home to Ipswich.

Dennon Lewis apparently impressed in Woking's 1-1 draw away at Torquay in the final FA Cup Qualifying Round, playing the whole game.

Sven Kums played the full game as Udinese let a lead slip in their 2-1 defeat at Juventus. Adalberto Penaranda was an unused sub and Udinese are now only one place above the drop zone.

Obbi Oulare was an unused sub for Zulte Waregem as they lost 3-0 at Gent, and Alex Jakubiak also remained on the bench as Fleetwood beat Peterborough 2-0.

Uche Agbo came on as a 64th minute sub for Granada as they got pumped 7-1 by Atletico Madrid, the score was already 4-1 by the time he came on. Ally Malle started and Estupinan was on the bench as Granada B lost 2-1 at home to Cartagena.

And finally, I completely forgot that Mathias Ranegie was still a Watford player. He's on loan at Djurgarden in Sweden's top flight and has 5 goals in 22 appearances so I don't suppose we'll see him back anytime soon! Next game for them is tomorrow night away at Hammarby.

I also forgot this until my friend who was temporarily living out said they were seeing them play back in July. As i'm the source of all football knowledge (in her opinion) she asked if i knew any of their current players. I said no...until I looked on Wikipedia and saw the squad list  He didn't score, played about 5 minutes at the end and they lost. He then (apparently) a week or so later got suspended for partying to much

Not a loanee either but in other news Connor Smith (cue jokes about Tommy) is settling in pretty well at Plymouth Argyle and scored a cracker yesterday after coming on as sub.

This weekend was probably the worst so far for those on loan for a variety of reasons.

Scraping the barrel for some positives, Uche Agbo was the Man of the Match as Granada drew 0-0 at home to Sporting Gijon.

Sven Kums played the whole game as Udinese beat Pescara 3-1. He wasn't involved in any of Udinese's goals but was culpable for the Pescara goal as he ushered the goalscorer into the box without any sort of challenge.

Steven Berghuis came off the bench as Feyenoord drew 1-1 with Ajax in the top of the table clash. That's the end of Feyenoord's 100% record but they remain top. Berghuis played about 20 minutes and slung some dangerous looking crosses in.

Obbi Oulare was an unused sub for Zulte Waregem as they won 2-0 against Lokeren. They're top of the table but he's only played 24 minutes of football spread over five substitute appearances this season. So much for going on loan to gain first team experience...

Alex Jakubiak didn't make the Fleetwood squad as they lost 2-1 at Millwall and Dennon Lewis played the full game as Woking drew 1-1 with Barrow.

Tommie Hoban played the full game as Blackburn lost 1-0 away at Bristol City, with Tommie H deflecting in the 88th minute winner.

Estupinan started and Ally Malle was on the bench as Granada B lost to Marbella.

Adalberto Penaranda wasn't in the squad for Udinese's win and didn't appear to be injured. He's only played 129 minutes of football this season and there are reports in the Spanish and Venezuelan press that his loan will be cut short in January and that he'll be re-loaned to Sevilla.

The loans really aren't working out for Penaranda, Jakubiak and Oulare. I can't imagine that we're being paid much in loan fees for any of them so perhaps there'll be some movement for all three in January.

  29. El distraído

    El distraído Johnny Foreigner

    I don't think it's that bonkers.

    - Peñaranda is well known in La Liga (probably how Sevilla know about him) and was well on the way to becoming a proven player in Spain before we snapped him up.
    - He already speaks the language and knows not only the country, but Andalusia well I'd imagine. Probably won't require much of a bedding in period.
    - Going back to Spain for another year or two will hopefully grant him a Spanish passport, enabling him to play in the UK without a work permit (until Brexit at least).

Sevilla are currently 2nd in the table and just beat Atletico. I'm not really sure a move there in January would be such a great idea for old Adalberto because, if he can barely get a game at Udinese, what the ****'s he doing to do at a better team in a tougher league?

Very worrying for Oulare if he's not even getting minutes in the Belgium league, do we know why? Injured, fitness issues, attitude, just not up to standard or all of the above?

Interesting about Peñaranda too especially that he is obviously at a Pozzo club, sounds like a return to Spain may be best for his development in the long run or straight to us..Success's development hasn't gone too badly so far!
