I think that was the totality of the business case before buying him.

There was an interesting comment in the Guardian article about Tony Adams taking over at Granada:

Which begs the question, how many do the Pozzo group own? We know that we have Agbo, Malle, Estupinan, and Becerra on loan there but I wonder how many others are owned by us. Granada fans certainly think the promising young Cameroonian centre back Hongla is ours too.

19 year old Becerra finished the season as top scorer in Granada's academy team with 17 goals, despite only breaking into the team midway through their season. According to Colombian press, he's set to stay in Europe but it's not clear whether it'll be with Granada yet. Apparently round about the same time we signed him, we signed two other young Colombians - Eduardo Montenegro (who's also recently been playing for Granada's academy team) and Jaime Alvarado (who is waiting until he's 18 to move to Europe), both on five year contracts. Add in the other young South American players that have actually been reported (Williams Velasquez and Jorge Segura) and it seems we are stockpiling young prospects from that part of the world. I'm guessing that most won't make the grade but we're hoping that one or two successes will more than pay for the whole project.

Am I correct in that the Pozzo's still own Granada B for this season as part of the takeover deal? Panagiotis Kone joined Granada in January from Udinese, so there must still be some cooperation and Molla Waque, who is now at Leicester, but injured, is Udinese but registered with Granada. Looking at Granada B squad, a lot of the players are on loan apparently form Udinese.

You would imagine that they have got another Spanish side lined up for a deal, I can't remember who is was but they used to loan loads to another Spanish team (Cadiz perhaps?).

It may be that despite the sale there remains an agreement to work closely with the new owners for mutual benefit i.e. Match experience for our young prospects and endless stream of available loans for them. Just because our players are on loan at Granada B doesn't mean we own that club !

It'll be interesting to see what happens with him next season! 3 month loan to a Chzmpionship club would give us idea of how good he actually is...

Hopefully goes better than Sinclair's. Not in the Birmingham squad on Saturday, maybe he was injured? The site I was on didn't have him listed as a missing player though

Not a loanee I know but the Jurado threat has been closed, so I'd thought I'd share his starring role against Barcelona here.

"with his skill and talent he should be doing far better than this"

Clearly the commentator had never watched Jurado play before.

Same amount of assists for Barcelona as he did for us last season.

I watched this game and he was truly ****ing atrocious. If it was remotely possible for him to be more lazy than he was last season, he managed it.
