Not a bad result but defence continues to be poor. Not really a fan of Pudil and think we could do with some competition for him. Good to see that we seem to have 4 strikers on good form, I'd probably stick with Ighalo on saturday to be honest
I think Forest will be very happy with that point! The result wasn't what we wanted but the performance was great. Keep playing that like and we'll undoubtedly have an outstanding season. Very impressed with what SJ has done since coming in and I'm really looking forward to seeing the finished product when he has bedded his approach in properly.
Sounds like they have a lot to thank their goalie for. Frustrated we couldn't get the third but by all accounts we were the better team. Onwards to Saturday.
The game should've been put out of sight but that doesn't excuse our defence's lapses in concentration.
We must have tried 20+ defenders and we're still letting leads slip, after 2 seasons of it its just f*****g irritating now.
Not a bad point. Frustrating that we threw away the lead twice though. I think we're going to have to get better results against some of the better teams if we're going to finish in the top two. Our record against teams in the top 10 so far: Norwich L (3-0), Charlton L (1-0), Bournemouth D (1-1) Forest D (2-2)
BBC Stats, Forest had 2 shots on target! Pretty good performance, Forest commentators were pretty much gushing about our play going forward. Their 2nd in #519 http://www.forestforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=42385&page=21
Very good and fair report on game here http://forevernottinghamforest.blogspot.co.uk/2014/10/watford-2-2-nottingham-forest.html
Real opportunity missed. So much better than them. Some fantastic play. They didn't really threaten apart from the goals. Cast iron red as far as I'm concerned. The last man was at best level with Mancienne and Vydra is about to shoot, not sure how it's not a goalscoring opportunity. Don't know if the ball was out for their second goal. Murray looked like a little boy lost when he came on. He adds nothing. Deeney is a million miles away from match fitness and I felt for Ighalo who was excellent tonight. Darlow is a really really good keeper. Shame.
Murray is substandard every time he comes on the pitch alas. At least people have stopped giving ighalo grief like 2 weeks ago.
We play like that every week with a competent referee we'll win 9 times out of 10. Onwards and upwards.
Absolute mugging from Michail Antonio FC tonight, you'll rarely see a bigger gulf in class between two supposed promotion 'rivals' Very impressed with the way Slava has us playing, seen enough in the last two games to confirm he should have us right up there come May Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Just in. All over them first half we really were. Even great in the second half, 'sexy football' returned. It's weird that I don't know what I didn't like about Sannino I just had that feeling, with Slav I have a good feeling. It's based on nothing but instinct but I think we'll be alright. 1.5 million for Antonio is a steal. Great player. Sell Sean useless Murray. Forest won't go up. We'll finish top 6. Game changed for the worst when Deeney came on, unfit, unmotivated and pretty useless tonight. Worst I've seen him in 2 years but totally understandable. Him coming on ruined the tactical shape we had. Vydra was forced out too far wide. Deeney wasn't winning anything either. It just didn't work, we need Vydra through the middle. Ighalo is actually quite capable, better than Acuna and Geijo for sure although he is what he is (4th choice). Impressed me tonight though. Munari or Fessi for MOTM. Assambolonga was awful. Yeah, horrible refereeing decision robbed us of 3 points. Again. Ball was quite clearly over from where I was. Great game though, play like that all season and we'll be fine. Boro just lost 2-0 to Wolves so hopefully we can go up there and do something. Top 6 in a random order - Derby, Watford, Wolves, Cardiff, Forest, Ipswich.
Disappointing to take a point instead of 3. Defending was poor for both of their goals. Whether the ball went out or not, it wasn't given. I was taught to play to the whistle when I was 6. Also, the far post header should have been punched by Gomes. Deeney was horribly unfit. Murray was out of his depth. He's a League 2 player. Igloo is my man. Loved watching him tonight and great to see him get another goal. He's a real handful and his awareness of his team mates is exceptional. OK he doesn't look graceful but he was very good tonight and we were **** when he went off. Was Abdi injured? Was Bassong injured? Ekstrand was ****.
I thought Ekstrand was ok. Bassong hobbled off, as did Abdi. We should have been out of sight at half time but Darlow made a string of impressive saves. Mancienne should probably have been sent off, the ref bottled that, and if Fazio was sent off for Spurs vs Man City, then their player should have been sent off with Vydra won a pen. Burke did run the ball out of play for their second, but whoever it was that turned around to protest to the ref instead of chasing Burke, should be shot in the face several times.
Forest are so one dimensional its ridiculous they havent been found out. Slavia has worked wonders with the team in such a short space of time it makes you think what the others were doing
The guy who fouled Vydra on the edge of the box was deserving of a yellow. There were two covering defenders and he knew it, the cheating, cynical ****. Don't know about the pen. That looked like a sending off, but I sit in the Vic so had a terrible view.
2 red cards not given. Nothing more to say than the referee cost us. Not seen if the ball was out of play for their goal but it wouldn't surprise me if it was. Forest were poor too, they were there for the taking.
Seen a lot of Forest fans saying something like "the ball was out, but we had **** decisions vs Cardiff so it's fine" so I presume it did.
Obviously a shame we didn't win when we led twice but the performance sounds like something we can build on, and i don't think it can be argued we threw it away. Worrying about the possible injuries to Abdi and Bassong. We have to move on as we have another big match on Saturday
I'm not Murray's biggest fan but I can't remember him giving the ball away once when he came on today. He offers nowhere near as much as Munari, Abdi and Tozser but he wasn't wasteful. Did I see someone slagging off Deeneys motivation? Lol Excellent performance, the first time in these last two games that we've got back to Zola levels of football. We'll score many goals with this side. Fernando and Vydra are an absolute menace together - fantastic footballers. Vydra's first half shot pushed round the post was a truly magic move - about 30 passes.
Fessi had two great strikes from outside the box with the outside of his foot. Corners were p*ss poor. Agreed Darlow was great.
Well that was hugely frustrating. We were so much better up until the second goal, that bar a defensive lapse that led to their first goal, we were in control as against Wednesday. Then what happened? Why did we drop off and let them have the ball? That's a massive undoing of ours, clearly they saw as well that crosses were a big weakness, I mean, how many did they try to put in after the second goal? Vydra was brilliant, Munari was good and Tozser was controlling things well when needed to. Ighalo was fantastic in comparison to his start at the club, worked so so so hard for the team, and deserved his goal, seems to be picking up those in the 6 yard area which is important as sometimes they seem to drift from us. Bassong and Abdi were huge losses and will be if they are serious. But we were so poor defensively for their goals. From my recollection Gomes had nothing to do for much of the game and so that's poor, no matter the attempt. How did a run happen for their first goal? That was rather poor and so soon after going 1-0 up too. The second one is infuriating because we should've at minimum disrupted the run which would have made the chance to cross more difficult but we stood their gawping. And sitting in the Lower GT on the half way line, I thought Vydra was through on goal, although Moog says he's sat in the Vic end, so will have to see again, but if Mancienne was sent off that would have been a much easier performance for Deeney as he was poor understandably. All in all we were very good for a large portion of the game, but we've thrown it away and its dissapointing. That said, I think based on early performances the Joker can get it right, but we need a good performance on Saturday too.
Tonight was a game where the result seems to influence the opinion. For what it's worth, I thought Watford were hard done by tonight. Forest should have had a man sent off and by the sounds of it, the ball clearly went off just before the second equaliser. It's things like that that change results, but going on just the performance, Watford were far superior right up until the final 20 minutes or so. Seemed to coincide with Ighalo's substitution. It's a shame we didn't get the win we deserved, and Forest will be delighted with their smash and grab raid. Only two shots on target being rewarded with two goals tells it's own story. FF had his shooting boots with him tonight, and fired in 3 or 4 excellent shots from distance, which Darlow was equal to. We deserved to win, for whatever reason we didn't, but we have to accept the point and move on to the next game. One thing is certain, we cannot afford to lose these "big" games, so at least that was achieved tonight.....and we're still unbeaten at home.
Forest do have two of the best centre halves in the league. Tozser had clearly been told to put it to the far post or the near for each corner as anything in the middle would be dealt with. There should have been more runners to either post. I'd like to see how many set pieces Forest have conceded this season - I'm guessing not many. Assombalonga made a mug of Ekstrand all evening. I would have considered putting Doyley on him just to stop him. Did anyone else see the kick Britt had at Ekstrand in the opening minute? Possibly trying to draw the same effect as at Norwich.
Id have taken a point before the game but for 70 minutes we absolutely shat on them. I think they'll get top 6, because they have enough individual quality. The game changed when abdi went off, we lost our control. Murray was poor, he needs a loan to league 1/2. Obvious red card to me and im pretty sure it was mancienne again who tripped vydra so how he stayed on the pitch, i'll never know. We'll slaughter worse teams if we play like that, not many teams have as good a back 5 as forest and we scored twice. Ighalo was very good, and i think it makes a difference him playing because we dont just aimlessly lump it forward. Anyway, if we can take points from the better teams, i'm confident we'll beat the mid-table to bottom half teams, which should be enough.
