Carpi 2-0 down and have missed two penalties. Palermo 0-0 and Udinese 1-1. As it stands Udinese are safe
Are they definitely though? Do you know the head to head records between Granada and the rest in the relegation zone? (I actually have no idea).
Not sure that this is correct but Granada have a winning record against Getafe. Therefore even if Getafe win next week they will have the same points as Granada but cannot go above them. With three going down and two unable to catch them on points I make it that Granada are safe. Can someone else confirm that this is correct?
They beat Getafe home and away and got 1 win,1 draw against Sporting Gijon. As La Liga goes to head-to-head before GD and those two can only equal Granada on points, Granada are definitely safe now.
Yea, I checked it during the match. Vallecano have a better head to head but thankfully they lost so can't catch them either
IIRC, if all three arrive at 39 points, what counts is the table in the "mini-tournment" of the 6 matches between those 3 teams. In that, Granada has 10 points in the 4 matches, Getafe 4, Sporting 2. So yes, they are definitely safe.
Well, thank everyone for the cheers. Another year and I really didn't expect us to be saved after this match!! I would say "I hope we learn about this year mistakes" but... Meh, 5 years in a row doing the same, I'm not quite sure we will. Its 2016/2017 season already, next game I expect nothing but a party in the stadium from our supporters (And Barcelona fans, I don't think Granada will make any effort [as Sevilla did) with nothing to play while Barcelona will try to win La Liga)
Congratulations! Every year Granada do this! How?! Yes it's possible, but it'd be lovely if you stopped them from winning so that you screwed upon their title chances. By the way, are there any end of season discounts on the home shirt that you know of? I'm having trouble accessing the online store. Also, do you know if Joma will supply Granada's kit next season?
Really pleased about that especially for Granada (kinda presumed Udinese would do enough). I admit I thought Granada were gone after the Valencia match I went to and when they then brought in the coach no one had heard of.
Joma should be supplier according to the contract so... I don't think there will be any change! By the way: There had been strong rumors about Granada being sold (we even have a number: 45M€, but no one spoke about it yet, only rumors...)
Would maybe explain why we have been linked to Agbo, Cuenca and Success then. Would be surprised though due to the benefits of a La Liga club in terms of a work permit. I wonder would they buy another La Liga club?
That would be a shame. I confess I have enjoyed watching Granada more than Watford over the last few months, from a purely entertainment point of view at least anyway!
Even though Pozzo denied it months ago, I was always sure that there was something in this. Peñaranda, Success and Agbo all to Watford. Seems like Pozzo is shipping out Granada's best assets before he sells. Would be a shame as I've been following Granada quite a bit these last 2 years and have grown to rather like the club.
Nah they said it was purely for financing ... maybe something similar to our Diversa deal Unless Spain are about to change their immigration laws they have no reason to sell.
Of course they'd say that, just like when they were quizzed about being interested in buying Watford, their response was that it was nothing but "journalistic rumours".
