At 5PM (your time) Udinese begins the new season, in probably one of the most difficult possible debuts, away at Juventus Stadium. Let's hope for the best. Granada begins tomorrow evening, in a hopefully "winnable" match at home against Eibar (18th last season but reinstated because Elche 13th was relegated as punishment for financial mismanagement). New thread to follow results (rather than transfer rumours or other news) of the Italian and Spanish branches of the Pozzo Empire. I think it's an absolute first time that a single family owns three teams in the three top tiers of the most important football leagues in Europe. That alone is NOT a small feat! Best of luck to all in the season!!! - for Udinese, I wish to come back on the left part of the table with some good playing (and maybe some hope for Europa League places). - for Granada, I wish for, at last, an easy and relaxed safety and a nice place in mid-table (and good playing). - for WFC, I wish for safety, however it comes, even if it should be as 17th at last match for a +1 in GD. Yet I hope/think, from the first two matches I watched, it might be more relaxed than that.
I concur with the above sherlock, although from a WFC perspective I would prefer security before the last match if you could engineer this please?!
One step at the time in the creation of a powerful empire. When the four Pozzo's team will occupy the four slots in Champions League semi-finals (adding a random French or German team to be led to glory), the powers in football will still be trying to understand which train had hit them! Muahahahahahahahahaha! :jumping1: [ok ... moment of evil super-genius passed, let's just hope we all survive confortably, for now! :]]]
This is the first time in history that Juventus loses at home in the debut match! Before this it was 33 wins and 7 draws. Also, Juventus didn't lose at home since January 2013. I couldn't dream of a better debut for this season!
Back to 2-1 but running out of time. And down to 10. Edit: 3-1 to Eibar. Not going with runners on a corner so Eibar had a tap in following a near post flick on.
Tonight, at 21:30 (UK hour) we play against Getafe, in case someone wants to see it, we will try to get our first points.
Yep. Should be good to watch on TV. Today the two new stands ready are open to public for the first time. Good luck to Udinese and Granada! Also, Merkel in starting 11.
Very unlucky so far. Palermo scored in its only chance while we had many many chances wasted. However it ends, glad for the performance, although I'd have liked the debut of the new stadium to be with a win.
Full time Udinese-Palermo 0-1 :sad2: On a brighter note, at 30' Getafe-Granada 0-2. Penalty by El Arabi (although, honestly, I think he dived to gain the pen) and a second 2' later in a good counterstrike by Success.
Obviously it wasn't penalti, he might fall due to any contact, but far enough from a penalti. Playing great, Success is doing whatever he wants in this game. @sherlock: Who is next game against to?
Granada's first win of the season! 2-1 against Getafe. From what I could see from my crappy stream, Udinese played well but couldn't find an equaliser against Palermo. Syadoim looked decent though.
Followed by Greuther Fuerth v Nuremberg @12.30 ...should be a cracker. early goal for 1FCN arty2: Fart equalised .... deservedly :boo: HT 1-1 And they go in front despite being 2yds offside  FFS injury time winner for the scum 3-2 :dismay:
2 goals in 3 minutes due to 2 bad movements and we loose against a great team as Villarreal is. Now Real Madrid...
Udinese have just kicked off away to Lazio. Merkel and Badu (and Di Natale) on the bench for Udinese. Ravel Morrison on Lazio's bench. Ex- Udinese player Dusan Basta starts for Lazio (bought for €5.5m)
