As I wrote earlier he has many qualities both as a human being and a tennis player.
However I have never cared for his antics on court.
I teach my performance players from the age of 13 that they need to set the tone for their support camp ( their parents!).
Do they want clapping or more vocal, close to the court or distanced?
Murray aged 34 is still moaning at them. I would tell him to **** off if he spoke to me like that.
Even Courier who was wetting himself about Murray's performance thought he was going to get called for distraction as he was grunting way after he'd hit the ball.
Others have called him out in the past for his behaviour ( RF,Del Potro) but as he's British it's overlooked.
Superb champion and huge heart and desire but he still behaves like a prize **** most of the time on court.

Two consecutive tournaments that Tsitsipas has been accused of cheating. His toilet 'breaks' are becoming the stuff of legend. Murray isn't the only one that moans about it by a long shot.

His lack of court time once again caught up with him but he pushed the world number 3, who's 11 years younger all the way and should have won that second set. If he can focus on this and get regular playing time, we might see him have one more great year.

Definitely agree players are taking advantage of these “breaks “ and it frustrates others of course .

What I don't get is when tennis players go for a toilet break or whatever, does that mean that the person waiting has forgotten how to play tennis during that break? ;)

Another good win for Emma Raducanu.

Many players take advantage of this daft rule.
Tsitsipas is in the spotlight because he is regularly in the latter stages of tournaments so a higher profile.
It's another example of the lack of clarity within the game. Twenty seconds between points in majors, twenty five on regular tour. Time penalties for some, rarely Nadal or Djokovic.
Change the lavatory break by all means but have uniformity.
Murray is duplicitous in any case as he was constantly grunting after his shot. That is distraction and he should be called for it. Courier thought he would be in the fourth set where it was very blatant.
Murray needs to get his ranking up in order to be seeded but I doubt he has two weeks of a major left in him at approaching thirty five.
However just competing is probably enough for him,he is nothing if not a fiery competitor.
The other player moaning was Zverev.
A man accused of beating up his girlfriend and during the match in Cinci also made a Lazarus like recovery,so I wouldn't take his word for much!

Perhaps when Murray has stopped moaning at all and sundry he will remember the US Open final of 2012 when the winner took two lavatory breaks.
    The winner...?

I can understand why you have a downer on Murray, but he is coming to the end of his great career and is probably raging against the dying of the light. He has been our best men's player for many decades and I fear it will be a long time before we see anyone nearly as good as him again.

As I said in my first post on this topic he has many qualities.
All you say is true apart from the fact he has always been like this on court and in some ways it has held him back. By this I mean his stubbornness in refusing to hit his second serve harder. It was only when Lendl bullied him into it that he won Wimbledon and the Olympics.
Tsitsipas needs to address this frailty but he's clearly been burned by ND doing exactly this in the RG final so he's adopted it too.
The ITF have many areas to address in the game, not least a major disciplinary case with a top official. The loo rule is certainly one of them.

I also think the authorities should have clamped down on grunting as soon as it became a 'thing' years ago.

If you think it's bad on tour take a look at the juniors.
We were playing at Hazelwood on Sunday and the Middlesex county closed tournament finals were on reffed by the fabulous and formidable Brenda Stewart.
I thought an aircraft had flown over, turned out to be an eleven year old girl!
The men are mostly fine but the ladies/girls are monstrous.
Moreover they make a noise post contact, clearly distraction.
Grunting is a stress control, originally from running. Breath in on the take back, out on the hit, to reduce tension.
They girls screech like harpies purely to take away the audible ball characteristics.
Should have been addressed twenty years ago.
Another of the failings of the ATP,WTA ( more so) and ITF.

Clearly Orelly men constructed the roof on Louis Armstrong Stadium!
Rain pouring in and Anderson and Schwartman not happy about the safety of the surface.
Tsitsi through to play the talented teen Alcaraz.
Medivet storming through and Dan Evans into third round too.

    She's riding the wave!
Hugely entertaining match now with two very likeable guys.
Steve Johnson, with his John Newcombe moustache and the enormous talent of Gael Monfils playing some great tennis in four sets at present.
Seppi at 37 defeats Hurcazk and Oscar Otte the qualifier into round 3.
Lloyd Harris through too to possibly play Shapovalov.

Good comeback by Dan Evans from 2 sets down.

Alcaraz making sure Tsitsipas has to go all the way to win .

    Dreadful match play from Tsitsipas.
    Alcaraz deserved to win.
Tsitsi had no width,no slice,no variation when Alcaraz was serving .
Kept hoping he would miss and he didn't.
Choked it tactically and to lose from two breaks AGAIN as he did v Zverev in Cincinnati is poor with his serve.
Clearly spooked by the criticism he seemed to go into his shell.
Great win for DE,shame one had to lose that match.

    I wish Osaka well.

Clearly needs to sort her mind out and re set away from the media glare.

Good night for Canadian tennis though with Fernandez and FAA winning.

Americans would have enjoyed Tiafoe beating Rublev.

Raducanu flying through the first set.

Djokovic actually lost the first v Nishikori and is having pressure put on his serve.

    Go Emma.

Ash Barty potentially next but she must feel in great form and can beat anyone.

Fantastic and mature performance. You can see her talking to herself between points so she keeps her focus. Some of those returns were so fast they had hit the back of court before her opponent even raised her racket.

Rogers is a far tougher proposition than ST.
ER will also have the crowd against her but she's on a wave so anything is possible and she'd certainly rather Shelby than Ash.

    Come on Evo!

    Evans dismantled by Medivet.
Extraordinary performance from Leylah Fernandes again.
She has now beaten Kerber after Osaka in round 3.
It should be remembered that ER benefited from the withdrawal of Jen Brady and has had a fairly benign path so far.

If you cannot see Emma’s match v Rogers then it’s on 5live from 8.30 although probably depends on timings .

She is phenomenal, but the way her rise is treated on the news reveals how desperate and in need of validation this Country is. A tennis player! My goodness! Britain is back! Let’s heap pressure on this teenager with the hopes of a nation.

You just know the same press is going to love her shoplifting and minor drug possession years treating her at all times with dignity and respect.

What a remarkable performance. Through the qualifying rounds to semi - final on the biggest stage (25k spectators)

And she speaks with assurance and composure and maturity that all belie her age - just 18, amazing.
