    Federer has knee surgery.
This could be the end of his tour life.

Surely must be - 3 knee ops now.

    Bad enough for any player.

Let alone one who is 40!

    Statement was telling.
He wants to be healthy. The exact words Murray used and denotes that the injury is now impacting on his off court life.
    Medivet wins Toronto.
    Giogi wins in Montreal.

    Medivet marches on in Cincinnati.
Murray out to Hurcazk in two.
Tsitsi beats Korda son of Korda sister of golfer.
    Plays the exuberant Sonego later.

  5. I Blame Pozzo

    I Blame Pozzo First Team

Tsitsi beats Sonego in three and plays Auger Aliassime, who beat Berrettini next.
Very big disciplinary case brewing at the ITF concerning a top official.
Nothing in press yet but maybe it will appear at the US Open.

    Nadal out until next year.
Djokovic still troubled with his shoulder and not playing in Cincinnati.
The tide is changing slowly to the the next cabs.

Rafa will just concentrate on clay I guess and be surprised if Federer comes back .

Did Djokovic get injured smashing his racket ?!

  8. I Blame Pozzo

    Yes likely.
    Agreed.
I hope so! Poetic justice for not being awarded a warning and then a penalty point.
    Sap!

Tsitsi repeats his Humbert match and beats Felix A A in three,6-1 in the third having had match points in the second.
Zverev beats Ruud easily so he plays Tsitsi and an all Russian match between Medivet and Rublev.
Jill Teichman continues a good run, having beaten Osaka in the quarters wins again to make the final.

    Rublev finally beats Medvedev.
Bish, bash bosh tennis but well done to him.

Thiem out with injury. Nadal as well. I think I mentioned this previously but the human body no matter how fine tuned is not designed to take the sort of forces along it's joints and girdles that these players submit themselves to time and time again. Bring back wooden rackets and artistry as well.....

Thiem ripped a tendon I think.
JMDP has never really recovered from wrist surgery and having been off court playing for six months when I twenty two I can empathise.
Im staggered Nadal had lasted as long as he has. His knees were shot ten years ago.
The wealth that RF,RN and ND have accumulated has allowed them to minimize their playing over the last decade, thus ensuring their longevity.
Harris Cup final for us at W Herts tomorrow 12pm v Barnet.

Teichmann beats Pliskova to play Barty in the final.
Giorgi having won in Montreal, it's a fortnight of surprises on the WTA.

Zverev looking very assured and with an early break against Tsitsi.

  16. I Blame Pozzo

Tsitsi blows a double break 4-1 lead against TBW and loses in a tie break third.
Choked at 5-4 and didn't make a first serve and became very tentative when before TBW had called for the doctor,he had been super aggressive.
I hate 4-1 in the third!

I am surprised this doesn’t happen more with the number of cameras around :

“It was a semi-final to forget for Medvedev as the world number two collided with a courtside TV camera during a rally with Rublev”

The 25-year-old was a set up in the match and shoved the lens with his foot before complaining to the umpire that he "could have broken my hand".

True, although Medivet is so gangly he's very likely to collide with almost anything!
Victory for Hoddesdon over Barnet, who brought their entire membership to W Herts.
No one from Hoddesdon but the two Barnet dogs seemed to like us!

Zverev eases past Rublev in 'The Bling Battle".
Perhaps his "illness" was a pay back at his anger with Tsitsi for his prolonged bathroom break?
Didn't look too unwell to me.
Barty just as comfortable v Teichmann.

Whoever planned Tsitsi's strategy for Murray should be sacked.
    Naive not to say suicidal.
It's lateral movement he can't make not forward.
    Shocking game plan.

Murray takes the first set 6-2.

Hopefully will maintain fitness and be competitive which is the real issue for Murray.

  27. I Blame Pozzo

So obvious you have to work AM over yet Tsitsi gave up so many free points in set one.
    Very poor.
Still not fully recovered from losing at RG and he has the baggage of the horror against Coric at FM last year.

  28. wfc4ever

Shame Murray couldn't seal that 2nd set in the tiebreak.

Dart and Watson out whilst Konta has pulled out.

Murray really needs to remember a spare pair of socks and shoes on court.
I had that for the Harris Cup final last week and I was playing at W Herts not humid Flushing Meadows!
He's been going to NY for long enough to know the conditions and don't blame Delgado or whoever else. You're 34 man,not 13.

    Donating third set to Murray.

    'Instinctionally' is not a word.
I know you are broadcasting from America but really!
I don't know what is more irritating, the inane babbling of Courier or Laurie Anderson on the computerized line call.
Now Henman's at it ' pacifically'.
    They're all talking drivel!

There's a lot to admire about Murray.
However many aspects of his personality are extremely annoying.
His constant moaning at himself, his camp,Gerry Armstrong ( not OUR one!),his opponent, his distraction of grunting post hit.
He's earned the right to compete but boy is he an old woman!

    Good battle from Tsitsipas.
Murray moaning for Scotland about the time between 4th and 5th sets that Tsitsi took.
Get the rule changed then Murray, so many of the players do it if the game allows it.
So biased by the female presenter,at least Rusedski was impartial.

    Murray complaining ?!

    Nothing changes .

The better and fitter man won in the end I guess .
