Yeah, but Gino would consider this a result. Dawson now plays for a Champions League chasing team. #nextlevelsigning
Gutted at this news per BBC from the Mail. We really should be able to compete with these championship sides to sign promising gems like Cook. QPR are ahead of Nottingham Forest in trying to sign 30-year-old English defender Steve Cook from Bournemouth. (Mail) https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/59806196
Again we moan because he played for Muff but at the moment he'd be better than what we have which is frightening. A player who is not good enough for a Championship club would walk in to our starting lineup atm. Beggars belief.
Sadly, this is the delusional phase of the grieving process many of us go through with Watford transfers. He's gash.
The one thing this saga has taught me is that the song doesn’t go ‘Mr Cook, your son is dead’ and is in fact Mr Kirk. Life changing.
We need better than this guy, but if we are desperate and cannot do any better, we could do a lot worse than him as even he is an upgrade on some of the CB's we already have sadly.
Steve Cook has made four appearances for Bournemouth all season. I'm pretty sure it's just a case of his agent talking to some friendly media trying to drum up a bit of interest in his client and that there is no interest whatsoever from Watford. There is surely enough evidence to confirm that if Premier League teams keep signing 30-somethings from the Championship they end up there soon enough. We need considerably better than this – we need the central defensive equivalent of 2015 Capoue times two.
No he really wouldnt be. He's comfortably worse by a county mile than anything we have at the club currently. If thats the level we are looking at then we really are screwed
AL just tweeted Steve Cook is having a medical with Forest tomorrow. I must admit, I got cold sweats when I saw a tweet from AL about Cook, but relieve it wasn’t a Watford related tweet.
Hopefully the situation at Forest has improved to the extent that Harry Arter will now recommend Gosling move there!
I’m hearing from my sauces that he’s having a medical at an undisclosed championship club. I’m thinking it could be Forest.
My sources have confirmed that your sources are correct. The deal for Cook to come here fell through late on Friday night as he only wanted a three year deal yet Gino wanted him on a six year deal. A compromise couldn't be found and now he's off to Forest.
Can you imagine letting Kenny Burns loose amongst our 'defensive group'. The mayhem during his first training session would be a thing to behold.
FFS what training programme is Danny Rose on now? At least he's lost a bit of weight and can anticipate re-joining the 1st team group in the near future. Perhaps a run-out in the Leicester Cup game would be a good idea and he should then be fighting fit for the Magpies?
