Nketiah please. And I saw yesterday Man City want Julian Alvarez from River Plate but want to immediately loan him….
Assuming he qualifies for a work permit already then Alvarez on loan would be great. Nketiah would surely go elsewhere.
Watford Observer saying the club have confirmed the deal. But I can’t see that anywhere? Also, given Ranieri has effectively gone, isn’t this a sign that the club are still just buying players irrespective of the manager? What if the new guy doesn’t want Kalu? I know this is how it’s always been - but it’s obviously another symptom they show no sign of changing. Any other club would hold fire on the signing and check the opinion of the any new manager…
There was also briefly an article last night titled 'Hornets Sack Ranieri'. Can only assume they are writing these things ahead of time?
They must've published it accidentally? It's standard practice to have an article like this ready to go as soon as the club announce it, I guess they've jumped the gun a bit putting it up. Agree with your assessment about the futility of the club's transfer targets being unchanged irrespective of who the head coach is. Although seeing as they get through 3 a year it would be impossible to tailor a squad to each one. And that brings us on to an argument about their policies that's been going on for about 10 years now!
Whoever the manager is, we are desperate for a new forward - I'm not sure if this guy is the answer, but I don't see a front three of King, JP and Cucho registering a goal against Burnley. This guy seems to have some pace and decent dribbling ability at least, which is something we've desperately been lacking since Sarr has been injured and while Dennis has been off form.
I'm at the stage where I hope the poor lad has managed to wriggle out of the deal and escape the circus Having said that, the Pozzo mafia will probably take him to court and get him suspended 2 years from now if so
Depressing but true, and it's getting worse, I fear. No football vision or strategy. Just bringing in random pieces, throwing them at a head coach, and then sacking that head coach when the pieces don't fit and become disgruntled. The stupid thing is that it's bad business, too, because you're just minimising the potential value of your assets. So it's not even a good way to churn through players to make money. Imagine if we actually had a long-term plan and brought in players who fit it, so we could get maximum benefit from them. I don't think Pozzo or Duxbury has that type of foresight.
https://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Act...a-deja-signe-son-contrat-avec-watford/1312959 The dismissal of Claudio Ranieri will not call into question the arrival of Samuel Kalu at Watford. While his transfer to the Hornets is slow to be formalized, the Nigerian international, on site since last Wednesday, has already signed his contract in favor of the current 19th in the Premier League. He has signed up until June 2026 for a transfer fee of up to €4m depending on his number of appearances. On the side of Bordeaux, it is a file considered to be closed. In order for Kalu to obtain his Governing Body Endorsement (work permit), a request for exemption had to be filed. Due to lack of playing time, the former La Gantoise striker had not reached the total of 15 points necessary to evolve in the Premier League. Sounds like he didn't have enough points for a work permit but it's now been granted.
Can't Mogi just bribe some more Nigerian officials and forge some papers like he did previously to get Kalu his move to Europe?
