My wife's friend saw some kid try to blow his brains out right in front of her on the street a number of years ago. She had to try and keep him stabilized until the emergency services arrived.

She still has a lot of mental health issues due to that experience, so even in the unlikely scenario you described it could be highly traumatic.

Don't really understand the hate towards him. Clearly passionate about the club like all of us, just happens to be more positive than some.

And can you really blame a young lad for accepting invites to work for the club he supports, sky sports etc?

Like many I’ve seen myself caring a lot less about Watford FC of late. But seeing Ray back makes me curious. Would not be averse to bringing Ardley and Helguson out of retirement now.

They're both fit right into the starting 11. I'd take Mahon back to just for the pointing.

Yep, and nobody else since has been as effective as Mahon at chipping the ball out for a throw deep in enemy territory, at kick off.

I think maybe people are getting a bit carried away by the clubs direction. Roy is a relegation specialist just like Pearson was. Ray just happens to be his assistant, I doubt it’s a sign of things to come and it certainly has nothing to do with why Roy was brought in. It’s a desperate attempt to save our skin, that is it.

At least it is an attempt, and I for one am right behind that!!!

There is an awful lot of negativity on this forum right now, so why don't we try and change that and do our job as SUPPORTERS which is to get behind our new manager and our team instead of many of us being so negative and getting on their backs.

Because at the end of the day we should all want what is best for the team we purport to love and support.....

COME ON U GOLDEN BOYS WE CAN DO THIS - THE O'RNS ARE STAYING UP

I’m just being realistic TVOR. It’s not actually an attempt at all, like with Pearson, they clearly sat down and said to themselves “right, who has got a club out of this type of mess before” Ray is a happy coincidence, that’s all it is. Nothing wrong with that but let’s not get carried away thinking it’s a sign of things to come.

It’s not being negative it’s being realistic.

We also know they offered Gatusso a 5 month deal and he wanted longer, if he’d accepted Ray might not even be here.

I do want what is best for the team. That's why I want us to get relegated, Gino to lose interest and leave.

IMHO Gino is far less likely to sell us in the champ than when we are a prem side, given the massive difference in value. They bought us as an English champ side to parade and then sell players they had invested in, so maximise player profits, so I doubt they would be worried to be back there. However there are a limited supply of prem clubs available for the rich around the world to buy. I've said before, if I was them, I'd have sold after 2-3 years in the top flight, banked the profit, and then bought a club like Charlton, QPR or Brentford and repeated the process.

Hang on a second - he co-hosts a YouTube channel based on the club we support? It’s hardly any different from people mocking Mooney for his Hive Live commentary or saying ‘Corrrr Emma Saunders looks tasty today’ or some of the other things that were routinely said about those people connected to the club who CHOSE to put themselves in the media spotlight. I didn’t see people rushing out to defend/criticise in those instances?

He routinely says a lot of things that some of us disagree with and he says them publicly - it’s not a case of ‘superiority’ at all.

As for anything relating to his mental health, then I quite agree, that’s off limits.

Hypothetically if Woy did the impossible and kept us up, do any of you believe he will be here after the Summer Transfer Window? I know it says "possible extension" but we all know how trigger happy Gino and Co. are. We kept Xisco on (but it turned out the wrong choice) but Woy has bags of experience in the sport, the only thing holding him back is his age but his enthusiasm could also be a massive factor in wanting to stay.

Never understood why a head coach has to bring a fitness coach. Every PL club has reams of them in place. Likewise goalkeeping coaches.

To be fair, whilst the forum and social media can be quite negative at times, the support in the ground is never really that negative and rarely do we see anyone getting on the backs of a player or manager. As a collective we tend to just sit in silence when things are going badly. I also imagine a lot of players don't really care too much what the fans think so don't spend too much time doom-scrolling on social media after games.

I’m always behind the team and whoever is in charge. I am not behind the way the club is run.

I’m sorry that you, and others, are incapable of making that distinction.

Yeah, the Emma Saunders stuff is just as weird. Don't think anyone has a problem with critiquing someone's words or disagreeing, but it's fair to say it's stepped over that line a few times when it comes to the guys at WD18, for whatever reason.

Could understand it if it was going both ways, but as far as I've seen they haven't posted anything particularly offensive about those who aren't pro-pozzo etc.

Again, he puts himself in the public eye. He makes content for people to watch and comment on.

Yes, there are some comments that go too far re. his/their appearance, mental health etc. I don’t disagree with that whatsoever. And if that happens, then by all means something should be said and highlighted about that. But then surely those people also need to be consistent - if someone comes on here calling Lineker a ‘jug-ears crisp shagger’ will they pipe up then? Or just be selective about the people they want to ‘protect’?

There’s no excusing getting personal with someone, least of all someone we don’t know. But I don’t think the protection of that should overreach into not being able to heavily criticise the output of what it is they are saying. After all, they have a right to reply - it’s hardly the fault of anyone if they don’t use it.

I’d also point out that one of the YouTube guys is/was known to act somewhat unfavourable at away games - so he’s hardly salt of the earth, role model stuff either.

I'm constantly surprised that people who 'put themselves out there' for their own benefit (which it always is, really; doesn't have to be financial gain) are then shocked & upset when they harvest a 5h1t-storm...
