He temporarily made himself unavailable for selection. Lionel will confirm this. Scaloni that is. Yes. Ten million pounds sterling. Upfront. Yes upfront. Good doing business with you. Off the phone. Thank goodness for that. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
I would be more than happy to see this guy go, but I have an awful feeling we are going to be stuck with him. Having said that maybe it might be a blessing in disguise if he doesn't find another club in this window, because he might suddenly realise he is going to have to earn a move away. If that were to happen we might actually have the player we know be can be on our hands til at least January, plus we would probably get more money for him if a club comes in for him then.
If no one comes in for him, he will go to Udinese surely. Pereyra is more suited to the less physical more technical league, and I can see him doing a job in the Italian league.
History will judge him fondly. He'll be discussed in hushed tones of awe and wonder when we speak of the golden era of these past few years to our grandchildren, the club long since gone bankrupt by then.
When we said we'd rather have literally anyone other than QSF return to the club, it turns out we didn't mean Baz...
I would say he has never wanted to be here at all. He didn't really learn the language, he lived in the rented house of an England international in Harpenden and then rented an apartment for his time here. He was here for the money and to be honest, fair play to him. Personally, I would say he is not worth a penny, would rather get what I would assume his hefty wages off the pay roll. If not club comes in for him, he can go for free to Udinese, which I reckon is what will happen. His saving grace is requesting a transfer, and he seems to come across as a nice family man. Good bye and good luck but please go quick.
Great ability but the heart of a shriveled pea. Good luck but you've wasted your talent to a large degree.
I met him outside a game once and he seemed a nice bloke. More than happy to take photos with everyone, unlike some others. Only outdone by King Ken who was so keen that I think he just wanted to take photos with everyone himself. Capoue was the first signing that made me think "we are a PL club", but Pereyra was the first one that made me think we could do more than just survive in the league. He only really lived up to the ability we thought he had for a spell of 12-18 months but those games where him and Geri were both on song together were pretty magical, and compared to some of the ***** we have spent money on he has been a pretty good signing for us. As with a few others, we should probably have sold last summer when they wanted out and while their reputations were still high.
You tease. You can't say 'unlike some players' without name dropping. There's potentially a new boo-boy spot up for grabs.
Janmaat had a face like a slapped arse. Capoue wasn't super keen but still took photos. Dahlberg also looked sad, but I think that is because noone knew who he was.
Champions League finalists don't normally sign for Watford (especially not without us almost bankrupting ourselves lol), it was a seriously exciting transfer, and you know what, back in those early days, he was a bit hit and miss, but even when he was miss, he still put in a shift. A bit like Chalobah, the injury messed him up a bit mentally I think (albeit not as dramatically as less of his game was about grafting), and could never kick on. Was awful a lot of the time, magic on occasions, overall, OK I guess, nothing more, nothing less. Certainly not going to have any feels when he does go
At the end of it all he's now teetering on the brink of a move Hopefully his career won't fall off a cliff
He’s the one player that I think until the window shuts at least, we’re better off not playing. His application last season was appalling, basically constantly just knocking the ball into defenders shins hoping for it to come out of the other side. Certainly at the moment better to give his spot to somebody who will give at least 80% rather than him giving at best 40%. As others have said when the music stops if nobody has come in for him no doubt he’ll be off to Udinese. But the fact that so far nobody wants him speaks volumes.
The one thing Covid has done (bar a few exceptions) is really make clubs think about who they spend money on. The reality is Peyrera is barely even good value at £5m and it shows in the lack of interest. He’s a good player on his day, but when that day comes around only every ten or so matches you can see why nobody wants him.
I certainly can. At least he's creative and skilful. In a slower league with more time on the ball he could do ok. Can't see a Prem club wanting him.
Going to Udinese which hopefully will secure us at least somewhat of a decent fee. They have to use market value so can probably get away with 10 million euros, probably more than anyone else would have paid!
That would be nice, however the fact that Pussetto is still here makes me think that maybe they don't want him back (or he doesn't want to go back)
Udinese signed Molina from Boca so Pereyra would take them to the limit of non eu players they can sign this season
I think we're holding him back right now, because of the situation with Sarr. If Sarr goes, then Pussetto will probably remain.
Means little without any motivation or desire, which he’ll have even less of a league lower. We’ve all seen what he can do, but far more often we’ve repeatedly seen him not bother to do it. He’d have the odd game in the championship where he pulls the oppositions pants down, but he’d have many more games where he goes missing. Better IMO to have a constant 7/10 player in his place rather than an occasional 8/10 with mostly 3/10 performances.
