Fresh start, Rangers fans realised the club, well one man Craig White has done wrong and dont want any favours. All SPL clubs will now suffer which isnt a bad thing also.

 

The words "sporting integrity" have been thrown around a lot and I know other decisions (Airdrie/Livingston) can be used but this is a just punishment. As for other teams suffering, pah. Every team outside the ugly sisters have been suffering from their nonsense for years. Support your local team!

 

Good decision. It really needed to be done, any other decision would have been a complete joke. You run your football club badly and you suffer.

Why should they be allowed back? It's like getting a fine and asking for the money back.

 

So what is their excuse for losing so much money. They have much higher income than any other team in their division they should be able to make money and still win the league. Obviously still paying their players too much money.

I don’t understand what they are “still” suffering from, as this is a new-co and all the previous debts went with the old company. I also think they were left with only about 8 players and had to rebuild their team so all these new players should be on appropriate money.

 

I wish I had done “reply with quote” then everyone else would understand my previous post, not just the person who posted and then removed their reply !!

 

Don't think we are in a morally strong position to cast stones as we are still awaiting the result of our football league enquiry but should they not be subject of a transfer embargo?

Football generally is in a right mess with most clubs running up massive debts, so glad we appear to be following a more sustainable route under the Pozzo regime.

 

Just a few possibilities... as i'm not too sure whether they did drop ticket prices - I assume they must have...

But having been relegated a few divisions, not selling as many tickets, at not as high prices, and presumably having to still maintain Ibrox, i'd imagine they'd still be operating at a loss, especially if they've lost all European TV revenues and are suffering reduced TV revenues etc. as a result of being in the Scottish Third Division.

That said, to have gone through all they have and still be turning over a £7m loss is not ideal.

There was quite a bit of impenetrable financial news guff in Private Eye this week about Rangers (no link you'll have to buy the magazine but I think it was hinting at quite a large unpaid debt). I was told (on Saturday night) by two "Scotch Soccer" (it ain't English and it ain't football) friends that tomorrow (Tuesday) is going to be a bit of a D-Day for the 'Gers. Can anyone shed any light on this?
