Day 2: All this talk of China is making me crave some crispy won-tons like mad. But I'm still standing strong. Watched the Milwall highlights on my phone. Saw that Odious Ighalo didn't even bother to show up for the game. Typical. Instead he appears to have summoned mysterious Nigerian voodoo forces to channel his spirit through to the legs of Jerome Sinclair instead.
We have lives and can't read every post. If people don't report stuff they don't like then how are we able to act if we don't read the threads on a persona interest basis? Don't insult other posters and keep your language clean. If my work filter blocks this site because of language, it'll be shut for posting between 9&5 Mon - Fidday I'll take my mod stick to the thread now. Expect cards. I think this thread has run it's course.
SSN reporting £20m fee agreed with Chinese club and personal terms agreed by Ighalo in principle. Still pending medical and final agreement.
If you take into account the £3m for Guedioura, that is £23m for two players who would have struggled to make the list of 17 non HG players for the rest of the season. Tidy profit for the bosses too.
It will be a tough one if he still thinks he has something to prove in the PL and refuses to go to China.
Just Fark off Pulis - if you haven't got the cash then don't play games with agents and try to turn the players heads - if WBA had anyone other than Ben Foster who would improve us i would say retaliate and try and fark up their plans
Yeah well Pulis will have done a right job on us if Ighalo doesn't want to go to China and we get stuck with him. West Brom will get him on loan because we have no room for him anymore.
£20 million? Was expecting the £26-30 mill that was floating around. 20 million from China isn't a lot!
Changchun sounds too much like a made-up Chinese name. I suspect it's all just another Telegraph sting.
I feel a bit sorry for him really. He obviously desperately doesnt want to go to china. And who can blame him really. He is still complete, utter and total ****e like.
So he's joining up with the only English born player in the Chinese league http://www.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/artic...hinese-super-leagues-only-english-born-player
From the little Cantonese I know, I think Changchun Yatai means "flower that blossomed brightly but rapidly rotted away to ****"
I could probably just about be persuaded to go to China if they paid me £200k per week! I quite like the food as well.
Take the money and run. Also by not joining WBA Ighalo won't score against us which would be bound to happen!
I do feel for the guy, in a way. By all accounts he could've gone to China before but didn't, so it's not about the money for him. He's now basically being forced to go, and the money will be a nice bonus, but it's a shyte league, he has a family he has to uproot etc etc.
The world of association football has officially gone mad. Good luck to the man, gave us some great memories, but the way we are playing at the moment, our entire (fit) squad would not be worth £25m, let alone one of our peripheral players. We should buy him back next year for £2.5m if we get relegated, to help us get back up again. It would beat Luther's 50% buy back discount from Milan by a significant margin.
If only he was paid a massive amount of money to set himself and his family up for a life others could only dream of, eh? Poor chap, must be awful earning so much.
He should have thought of that before playing **** for us for months. This is his punishment as far as I'm concerned.
I know, that's why I said in a way. He clearly would be happy to stay in the PL and earn less, the money will be a nice bonus but it doesn't appear to be his sole motivator, so having to go off to 3rd rate joke league when you should be at the peak of your career can't be that easy to stomach regardless of the money. I will still be delighted to see him go mind, and I'm sure he will enjoy spending the money, there is always a balance between job satisfaction and money though.
Bit disappointing if the fee really is only £20m. Wonderful player for us though and we wouldn't have been promoted or stayed up last year without his goals. I'm surprised he wasn't sold for that ridiculous £37.5m offer only 6 months ago. A bit of a **** up all round really by the club and probably the player. Don't forget, Watford are very unlikely to get all of the money, as Udinese will almost certainly have a hefty sell on fee seeing as they gave him to us for nothing.
Well done, Gino. You've made the club £23 million. Now turn your attention to the quality of football on offer, please. We don't demand unbroken success - Watford fans are used to defeats - but we do like attacking football played by people committed to the club.
