To those defending Ighalo and claiming we should be kissing his forehead and holding his hand as he wobbles impotently towards the exit door: get a grip. This man has been stealing a living from us for over a year now; money that my parents, grandparents and great-grandparents paid to support this once-great club literally going into the pocket of a washed-out charlatan with all the moral and ethical fibre of a feral stoat. I'm tired of being told to 'be nice' to footballers because their fragile and delicate little egos might snap if they read something upsetting on a football forum about them. The sooner this distended piece of rectal prolapse packs his bags for China, the better off we'll all be and can begin the important business of booing and hounding Niang out of the club instead.
Good grief! I cannot conceive how Gino has managed to extract this fee from China! I may ask him to manage my funds if he concludes this deal. Remarkable. Good luck Iggy and thanks for the memories.
Can't believe it's real and I can't believe he'd want to go anyway. This is all a ruse to get a better bid in from elsewhere e.g. wBA.
I was quite excited when Moralee was signed for actual big money. Saw him play for us away at Swindon. Willed him to be better than he was. I still rate him above Ellington though!
I will pretend to be him for half that and let the club keep the transfer fee... I can't really kick a ball straight though
Loved him when he put us 1 up against that mob up the M1 only for us to get spanked. think 400k was a LOT of money then for us. Now its around 4-5 wks wages for Deeney. Madness. Ellington is still pound for pound (and he had a lot of pounds to carry around) the worst signing ever.
He got us here, he kept us here and for that we should always be thankful. How his form has dropped from outstanding to unbelievable is astonishing, i don't think I have seen such a downwards transformation of any player in such a short amount of time. If he does go to China I suspect he'll be back in Europe within a year or two. No doubt the Pozzos will have a 1st refusal clause just in case he does find his form.
Just read an article saying Frank Lampard isn't ready to retire and has had premier league offers. If we sell Igahlo for £27m then we could do a lot worse than splash out a bit on covering his wages for the rest of the season, and possibly the next. He'd certainly be able to teach Capoue a thing or to about how to be a midfielder.
We probably could do worse than sign a 38 year guy that refuses to believe he's finished. But not much worse.
He's never been fast so his age is not an issue, he'd be guaranteed to chip in with 4/5 goals by the end of the season like he did with Man City not long ago, and he couldn't do any worse than our current lot of midfielders, Cleverley exculded.
You are either 12 - in which case i forgive you as you haven't yet got hair other than on your head and don't have a clue how to behave and speak to others or you are a closet hatter - either way grow up or fark off
In protest at the continued presence of this vacuous sack of slime still being at our club, I'm currently chained to the railings in Occupation Road on hunger strike until the transfer is confirmed. I'll be chronicaling my efforts on here to save our club from the clutches of this contemptible maniac. Day 1: Cold. Hungry. Thought I saw Ighalo walking past and hurled a plethora of abuse. Turns out it wasn't him. But I think I'm sending a pretty strong message.
Can't help but feel the Mods have given up on this thread and some of the trolls that post within it.
People slagging off one of the main reasons as to why we are 14th in our SECOND continuous season in the PREMIER LEAGUE need to either get a grip or hurry along and do their homework!
Yep. Things do seem to have gone downhill a bit during my 18 months absence. Thing is, there are plenty of other outlets for keyboard warriors/wind-up merchants/ those who can't or won't string more than 140 characters together. No real chance of trashing this one though because, generally speaking, it's got a better class of participant. So why don't the trolley brigade go and get their jollies somewhere else? On here they just look silly.
I've gone off Iggy, but some of the vitriol has gone too far, I think a couple of people need some time on the naughty step.
They are just WUMs and not of the amusing type so best to just ignore them. They don't believe what they say, they just want a reaction.
Head Coach Walter Mazzarri was asked why Igahlo was left out of the squad that lost to Millwall, and said: "This is because there was an offer, he’s talking, he’s negotiating, and I wanted only players who could concentrate on the game." But since none of those were available in picked 11 random men and just told them to go out and run around a bit
Genuine question: what do you think the mods should be doing on this thread? Yes, there are some posts that are clearly over-the-top **** takes, but nothing much more serious than that.
I presume comments like "I wish he was six foot under" may be taken as a joke by posters on here - but if an outsider saw it, I doubt they'd think the same.
