I'd like to see Amrabat given one last crack of the whip playing in 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1

He works his bloody socks off, tracks back and drives forward. His end product hasn't been the best, granted. But I think he still makes a decent member of the squad. I think he has more to give.

I laugh loudly at your Tom Ince suggestion.

In all seriousness, Ince is ****. I'd keep Amrabat over him, he's that ******* bad.

Double digits in the last 3 season. I don't know which Tom Ince you've been watching. Do you just enjoy slagging off other peoples point of view perhaps?

    What league m8?

Are you suggesting that it's improbable for a player to make the step up?

  6. GoingDown

    GoingDown "The Stability"

Are you ignoring the several times he's tried that already?

Amrabat's not going anywhere, he's modelled the new kit....he's staying.

  8. Dusbero

Are you ignoring the fact he was only 22 and Crystal Palace had a huge squad and was kept out by Bolasie and Puncheon and then had to compete with Kebe, Jerome Thomas and Grandin. The latter 3 barely got games. Bolasie and Puncheon kept Ince out of the team. They were better, more experienced players.

And several times he's tried? He had one season in the premier league ffs.

They've put him on the end. Clearly lined up to be photoshopped out.

Are you aware you've answered your own question? One season in the PL, several rubbish years in the Championship, selfish **** of a player, arrogant ***** much like his father who'd be in the same ground as me if he ever played for us.

I can put up with a lot of things, but Paul Ince wanting my team to win, it's just too much.

Pretty sure you just made up 'Kebe, Jerome Thomas and Grandin'.

Well he didn't as they all played for Blackpool/Palace. But either way, you don't agree with my suggestion. That's fine, but you always make yourself seem like such a **** in doing so which is unnecessary. Laughing to yourself about your pointless comment whilst sat in front of a computer on your own isn't a great look....

But I take your point. Let's ignore any player who has had a decent career, scores goals, and attempts to beat a player on the basis that you don't like his dad.

They were all in the palace squad for the 13-14 season. Kebe and grandin were shipped out in January because they didn't get a game, as did Tom Ince. Jerome Thomas was the preferred back-up to Bolasie and Puncheon.

In fairness, the dad in this case is Paul Ince. ;)

If Amrabat were English he'd be a bloody folk hero to many fans. He's physical, runs his socks off and doesn't spend half the match whinging.

That said, his end product needs to be a lot better at this level. Bring in competition, let him compete at the end of the summer and make a decision then.

Personally my opinion on Ince is that he is a very good championship player I just don't know if he can cut in the Prem. Reminds me a lot of Scott Sinclair, who is tearing up the Scottish League but having watched about 10-12 Celtic games last seasons, he was woeful but his stats suggest otherwise.

With that being said I wouldn't be upset if we signed Ince for £4mill or less, as long as he is our 7th or 8th signing of the summer and will be used as bench player.

Fair assessment. I don't think we'd get him for £4mill though. I had a look at the Derby forums and they see him as their best player and would be gutted if he went for less than £8million. Meanwhile I think we would be gutted if we spent anything more £4million on him, as it would be a gamble and he'd likely be a bench player until he proved himself.

I admit i have not read all the contributions above, but did we establish why Amrabats' dad does not attend Watford games to cheer on his son to the odd goal and assist?

His dad goes to watch his other son play.

He's no Tommy Mooney though. who did all that and more despite being technically average. Amrabat has not scored any goals and has assisted on very few in the 1.5 seasons he's been here. He had a few good games early last season before his injury but didn't set the world alight. I admire his effort and resilience but I'm afraid he's just not good enough to be more than a squad player.

Derby have turned down 7.5 mill from Huddersfield for Ince, they want nearer 10.
I'd have taken him for 5 million but nothing more, he'd only be a squad player.

  30. Dusbero

    Dusbero First Year Pro

yup, 7.5 is too much. especially for a player who will likely let his contract run out now for a chance to play from a premier league team.

The undeniable truth First Team Captain

Its all a question of whether we can get better players who will come to "little old Watford" and what they'd cost. We need the replacements signed up before we let any first team players go because "they're not good enough". Its alright getting the chequebook out and waving it about but the players may not come. It's like arsenal supposedly going to splash the cash this summer. All quality players will go to a champions league team so they will end up spending over the odds on sub-standard players rejected by the top 4 & Man U.

Tom Ince would walk into our side and be comfortably one of our best players. Absolute beast.

Whilst I stand by my original comment, I wouldn't go near Ince if the price is £10m.

Good point. I hadn't made it clear that I don't think he's good enough so far to warrant a place in the first team with our current squad, even allowing for some injuries. You never know though, Silva might bring more out of him than QSF or Mazzarri could.

  35. To be fair, you are funny, but if I laugh, I have to dip my hand in a boiling pot of chip fat, to rid myself of the guilt.

Mods: Just wanted to see if it gets deleted again. Some explanation would have been nice.
