I would be happy for this move to happen. He always put the effort in but unfortunately has not produced enough end product, not all his fault and I think he got a bit disheartened early in the season when he never saw a striker in position to turn anything in from him but I think it would do the squad well to free up space in that position. Would personally be happy with Janmaat & Berghuis on the right next season even without new recruits. Get the feeling he was getting close to becoming a boo boy too with growing frustration at his performances since his injury, I got sick of seeing him pick the ball up half way line, wrestle with a defender or run straight in to a defender.

If he wants the move then it’s thank you and good bye from me, in the right league and the right system he’d be affective for someone.

I like amrabat but the way he slowed down play every single time he got the ball out wide so the defender had enough time to get back, presumably because it then gave him someone to run into, was hugely frustrating.

Do feel abit sorry for him in a way as he was nearly always played out of position. Weather as a wing back, striker or even center mid he always gave 100% so credit to him for that.

He was playing well early part of the season until his injury. I'd like him to stay to see whether, after summer recouperation, he finds that early season form.

If we're looking to improve next season, he should be nowhere near the first XI. He's a winger that can't beat a player, can't cross, doesn't score goals and can't play a through ball. Yes, he works hard for the team and put in a fair effort as a makeshift wing back early in the season but he is desperately short on quality. Squad player or let him go.

Will be happy with him moving on. He tries hard, but he's also a 1 trick pony with no end product that slows down a lot of our attacks.

    Amrabat out
    Grosiki,Campbell in: Berghuis recalled

Would leave us with Success, Zarate, Grosiki, Berghuis and Campbell which would be adequate cover. Especially when considering pereyra can also play out wide if needed.

Seems like letting him go would be a good choice

  8. This, IMHO, and barring the goal scoring, only has any value if you judge him solely on the butt end of the season, when his style of play altered so dramatically that I suspect he was acting as requested by our out bound head coach. He had a fantastic first half of the season until injury, but each to their own, and horses tend to fook horses, of course.

I'd like to see him given a chance to show that the early season form was the norm for him. If it is, we are sorted for a winger, end of story.

Don't stay so deep Nordin, and go round the outside now and then, and you'll be fine...

Amrabat is better than Joel Campbell. The amount of Arsenal players you suggest, are they your first team?

You just confirmed yourself as completely clueless or the most boring troll on the forum

As stated numerous times in other threads, I think Watford are well placed to sign Arsenal players due to the proximity of the clubs and the fact that players surplus to requirements there would still be capable of getting into our team. Many of which others have agreed with.

In the last 3 years of club football amrabat has started 44 games, been subbed on 14 times (58 apps) and has 0 goals and 4 assists to show for it. You might think that's acceptable but I want better for this club.

Thanks for the research but the important but you missed is that I can't stand Amrabat. Yet he's still better than your latest brainfart in Joel Campbell who's done nothing of note for 6 years in the Premier League.

I suppose it's just another head crossed off your Arsenal squad poster. Who's next, Oxlade-Chamberlain? Wilshere?

Well considering he has spent two of those seasons on loan at least. Was very good in Greece. Still scored and assisted more at Sporting than Armband. I believe he even had a spell in La Liga. I can't believe you can even put him in the same bracket as Campbell. Beyond me.

Why would their fringe players have come to the championship in the past? Until recently we haven't been on the radar due to the clubs stature. We had some loans I.e. Hoyte, Bellerin, Park and Lansbury because at the time that was their level. My point is I can see Arsenal having somewhat of an overhaul after missing champions league (unlike before) and if their players wanna stay in the prem we are now a well placed club

Campbell got in the Arsenal side which is more than Amrabat would have done. Amrabat would've been laughed out of the training ground whereas Campbell had a reasonable amount of playing time and was well liked by most Arsenal fans. Less than 2 years ago a lot of fans wanted him to be kept over Ox, Walcott which says a huge amount about him.

Most of the times he was out on loan it was purely because they were awaiting a work permit, but even in his worst seasons on loan Campbell contributed far more in terms of goals and assists than Amrabat has done for over 2 seasons.

I've made plenty of non Arsenal suggestions also, but we'll forget about those ones. Speaking of which, I hear kolasinac is a good player, we should go in for him

To get this thread back on track, I don't think Amrabat offers anything which can't be offered by any player in the world with a bit of pace. Even without a direct replacement lined up I'd get rid and worry later. Peneranda for example I believe could do better, even if he just sprints to the corner flag all game. Would also be young enough not to take a squad place which could be used elsewhere if needed

    Two things.

One, how do you know if you aren't an Arsenal fan?

Two, no self-respecting person other than an Arsenal fan refers to Oxlade-Chamberlain as 'Ox'.

Amrabat like everyone in the squad has a price next to his name on Gino's spreadsheet. Unless there is a note next to it saying check with coaching /recruitment team before selling. Any bid that hits that figure is likely to be accepted.

  26. My point exactly about fake news and made up facts. One and a half seasons, with three months out injured, and reportedly under used and out of position for half a season under Quique. That's the facts of it.

And responding to your opinion that he would have been laughed out of the training ground by big clubs, IMHO, he would have been a target for any club barring maybe Citeh, Chelski and United (and only that because they prefer fashionable names) had his season not been broken up by the injury. He would be an ideal impact sub for Spuds in his early season form, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if they or Liverpool came in for him.

You only have to look at how the scousers dealt with him in the home game to know they considered him to be a threat despite thrashing us at Anfield.

Your point about fake news and made up facts would be completely invalid then. In an earlier post in this same conversation I have referred to Amrabat's exact number of appearances over the period, both sub and starting as well as goals and assists. If you want to see facts, simply scroll up slightly and they'll be staring you in the face. I just couldn't be bothered to state them for a second time.

If anybody is responsible of fake news and false facts it would be you for attempting to take my comments out of context and imply there was no back up evidence given when that was clearly not the case. Just because I did not give a minute to minute breakdown of what each player did on the pitch does not mean facts weren't given. As you like dealing in facts here is 1 I stated earlier. Amrabat has 4 assists for the club throughout his time here. A figure I believe to show his lack of end product.

Amrabat being a target for any big club other than city, Chelsea and united? Surely that's gotta be a joke? most Watford fans I've spoken to, including myself either want him to go completely or be no more than a squad player at best. Even when he was performing well he didn't do much other than offer us an outlet in an otherwise lacklustre attacking performance. Now defenders have found him out for holding their shorts and spinning him he's almost completely ineffective. I know we've improved over the last few years, but I'm not sure we're at the stage where Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool will be fighting it out to sign a Watford squad player.

  29. I'm sorry. Are you saying that the quote about "over two seasons" wasn't made by yourself?

If someone's hacked your account I apologise, but you should really keep your password safe.

Alternatively, you could stop exaggerating and describe the facts as they are. Why should I have to go back and read all your other posts to check your meaning, when you clearly state that you are talking about the last two years that Amrabat hasn't been here in the post I replied to and quoted.

And yep. It is my opinion that if he hadn't got the injury and turned to poop (and yep, I believe he did turn to poop) after the first half of the season, I reckon we would be fighting them off. And, as I said, evidence by the two games mentioned against Liverpool, I believe Clopp at the very least thinks he represents a threat and may consider him as a squad option. I also think he would be absolutely spot on as an impact sub for Spuds if he can retain the form he had early on.

I am not saying you are wrong. I am saying I think you are judging him on the last couple of months of the season, whatever else you may say, and whoever else agrees with you. Sorry if doing so causes you offence. It certainly puts you on the defensive.

Stop lying. Stop exaggerating, or take it on the chin when someone points it out to you, and if it was a geniune mistake, don't blame me for it.

I don't think playing centre-mid helped Amrabat much either.

Also for a character who looks bubbly, WM's personality can hardly have been good for him.

Yes he has frustrating qualities but he always tries, something which many of our players don't often look like they're doing, Amrabat wouldn't be a huge loss but I wouldn't prioritise moving him on either, if he stays as a sub for next season there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

I can understand both sides of the argument re Amrabat but one things for sure, we haven't played to his strengths which is our fault not his.
He's an attacking player without a defensive bone in his body. For atleast 50%+ of his Watford career he's played in a position that involves some sort of defensive contribution and that's just not him.
In La Liga where he played a fully attacking role he managed 6 goals and 6 assists in the season before he joined us, he clearly has end product.
Then you can get into the grey areas like our strikers not being good enough. I can think of about 5 occasions off the top of my head that a decent mobile striker buries his cross but Troy was 50 yards away eating a packet of haribo.

I won't be upset to see him go because I do think there is better out there but I wouldn't be sad to see him stay and see how he did under a positive manager with a half decent striker to cross to.

You can put an absolute, worldy of a cross into the box, if there is nobody there to convert it, then no goal, no assist, his stats were vastly limited by Walters lone striker tactic and our midfield's reluctance to get forward and attack.
I'd like to see him given a chance (even as a second choice, back up player) to show what he can do with Silva's more attacking style of play.

Even for Malaga Amrabat stats are woeful.

I know stats aren't everything but they are still important for attacking players .

He s played in his best position enough times to see he doesn't impact games enough .

Berghuis Success and Niang have better stats from far less game time .

    10/10 for effort
    4/10 for effectiveness.
