Well I can’t wait for this one to end, but I suppose that’s not quite the same thing!

The club’s been a total mess for 4/5 years now and judging by the reserved response from matchday crowds, I don’t think enough fans realise it.

I just watched FGR’s owner’s interview. I don’t really understand - FGR have now announced his departure, doesn’t that mean they’ll get no compo? I know they’re angry with us but by parting ways surely they unnecessarily deny themselves £250k or so?

Just seems somewhat odd behaviour especially as we reached out formally this morning to begin negotiations with FGR.

 

Yes....just seen this reported on SSN. It's really disappointing that Edwards would act this way to his current club, but is another nail in the reputation of Watford as a decent club. I'm really getting fed up at how we go about things. It's bang out of order but has Duxbury's sneaky "don't tell anyone" stamp all over it.

Seems like Edwards is cut from the same cloth as Silva. Not happy about someone with a clear lack of integrity, not knowing how to do the right thing.

Such a shame......this could have been exciting news, but is already tarnished.

As has been pointed out on the FGR forum, Edwards was not involved at a celebratory Civic Reception 3 days ago to show off the FL2 trophy, despite some of their key players and their Chairman attending. They thought it was a bit odd at the time.

Yet we're supposed to believe that the club and their Chairman had absolutely no idea that he was possibly going to join us? Hmmm.

Come on now, the comments from their owner will mostly be sour grapes and cheap virtue signalling.

Football is a moral vacuum and yet Gino Pozzo ensures that Watford still stand out as one of the most disgusting clubs in the country.

 

So we'd approach FG, they would tell us not to speak to him, and he loses the job opportunity ? It's naive to think clubs will always ask the permission of a target's current employer. My current employer didn't ask my last employer before I joined. If they are due any compensation, they will get compensation.

 

Seriously, why are you and so many others on here so desperate to stick the boot in, in a disproportionate manner?

It's truly pathetic that so many of the comments on here are not about discussing the merits of the new manager and whether he'll be a good appointment, but trying to find as many excuses as possible to spit your dummies out.

Forest Green Rovers' season is already finished and the discussions appear to have happened quickly; it's hardly the same as spending weeks destabilising a manager of another club in the same division as you a few months in to the season.

 

But who told them he was told not to tell anyone?

 

I suspect Rob Edwards resigned his position and is probably contractually allowed to do so.

Their chairman is doing the rounds to save face - and in the face of us being the other club involved, that won’t be hard to do.

Seems there is little compensation too - half a years salary, which won’t be much at all.
