Where is the dislike button!! Got me thinking about a couple of others, @YellowKicks was always a good poster, ITK back in the day and @WatfordTalk. I know not all agreed with him but thought he poste a lot of sense
Yes there are tons (tonnes?) of them when you think about it. 424, Phillipine Orn, El distradio (or similar), Nnnn, etc
HB1, and Rookery Dad still lurk from time to time. HB1 did say he was taking a break from the forum and I am sure he will be back posting again when he feels ready too. Sometimes for a lot of people leaving a forum is the best thing they can do to help with stress. Even the written word can be harmful, as we all well know. We all know who Filbert2 is Smudger seems to of vanished as well come to think of it. Some come back, some don't. If you look at the global statistics, we have more guest users than members on a daily basis. Which means a lot of people view the forum (almost triple on match days) so we are always a viable source even if not all guests turn into regular members.
Seem to remember he stepped away from posting/possibly going to games and was playing poker a bit more. Have kept an eye out for him at away games but haven’t seen him for some time. Any update from anyone else would be gratefully received.
Saw @PotGuy last month in Sweden, my older bro. He's just too busy with life nowadays to look at the Forums and only keeps loose eye on Watford but he's doing well. His older son wears Watford gear to his football practise!
He wasn't really - despite his constant proclamations of us being a "bottom 6" side (and occasional proclamations of a relegation battle), the last time we were actually in the bottom 6 (when we were 19th) was all the way back on October 23rd (and we ultimately finished 15th).
When did he say that then? Was it before he said we were in a relegation battle, or after he said Ismael could take us to the play-offs? And 55 points in basically every season of Championship history would get the club a higher finish than the bottom 6 team he most typically doom-mongeringly claimed we were.
I found the post you were thinking of, and he did indeed post: "Yes, 55 points is around what I think we’ll get, so we’ll be safe, but probably by only 5 or 6 points" But also in the same post he said: "This is why I consider us a bottom 6 club" And then just a few posts later, on the same day in the same thread, he posted: "We’re going to finish no higher than 16th but I will expect a bottom 8 or lower final position." https://wfcforums.com/index.php?thr...ter-city-10-02-2024.60781/page-4#post-3313065 HB1 said a lot of things, often things which were at odds with what he'd posted only days or hours previously.
Personally I think it's right that both HB1 and Henry Hooter are taking a break from the forum for a while it seems. Both had their fans' and enemies on here and the two of them (rightly or wrongly) got caught up in debates that used to span multiple pages. That is never good especially on a person's mental health of all things. Both are more than welcome to return posting when they feel the need too, and I hope when either or both do return they we be welcomed back.
