Hopefully we can be gracious enough to all give him a good send off on Sunday. We may not have always liked his style of football, but he's kept us in the Premier League for another season.

This is a big mistake. The man kept us up and we need continuity. Hate this club so much.

Hopefully this is just the beginning, out with the Head Coach and his staff and take the players who have been leaking to the press with them.

So the last three seasons have seen us get rid of a head coach who got us up and two others who then kept us up!!

I hope at the end of the match on sunday he goes up to the rookery, drops his hugo boss slacks, bends over and curls off a steaming great bum cigar and lobs it at the booers.

In my opinion this is good for the club and a good decision from Gino and Scott.
I am disappointed that once again we are needing to change managers and that there will be the annual assessment of the players and bedding in period needed but Walter had to go The next appointment is vital.

We just weren't a good fit for him, or the other way round. There were times at the start when it looked ok but even back then when we were bad, we were really bad. Seems the right decision but I hope that we at least acknowledge him positively on sunday because he has kept us up.

So you don't want an English speaking coach, with plenty of premier league experience, who managed to get a very ugly striker to score for fun and create a great team spirit, who last season won the league with an unfavourable team who nearly got relegated. I say give him a go / could do a lot worse / perfect fit

The next appointment has to be right, we can't keep hiring a new manager and 12 members of his backroom staff every year. The severance pay outs will probably cost millions which could have been better spent on new players like Oulare or Arlauskis!

Happy with that and glad they’ve made it clear before the weekend so there can be no negativity hanging over the club and we can thank him and the numerous staff for their contribution this year. Like someone else said it seemed like an uneasy marriage from start to finish with Mazzari seemingly quite an abrasive and divisive character with many of many of the Inter fans complaints rearing their head here also with the added difficulty of the language barrier.

Mazzari should do his final press conference in English just for a laugh.

Right he has gone, pleased he has gone but I will applaud him Sunday as he did keep us up, just! Dont think he was the right man for Watford clearly had his issues with the squad. We as a fan base never really took to him either. The next appointment is vital. No doubt all sorts of names will be chucked around but I think it needs to be someone who has managed in this league before. Who can motivate this bunch of players who clearly arent blameless in all this either.
Silva seems to be the favorite but lets see...

    Troy got his way then.

Big shame this and I think that this time we are somewhat guilty of the short-termism we were accused of regarding QSF. No doubt we will now get another round of chortling and jolly quips from the footballing world about how we sack managers who give us success.

Whoever is the next manager (please god not Ranieri), I do hope that this time Watford fans will be a little more patient and a little more circumspect.

Although I don't hold out high hopes.

You can say many things about the Pozzos, but you have to admit they're responsive.

24 hours after the conclusive forum poll, and he's gone.

It woz WFCforums what done it.

Like some others here, I do feel for Mazzarri because he came here with the objective of staying up, albeit with some pretty boring football and he has achieved that. It was obvious that he was affected by the results as he would vent his anger on the dugout frame so noone could say he didn't want better. That said as one of the press conference options states in football manager 16 (regarding the sacking of a manager) "I feel bad for ____ because he is a fellow manager but he did not get the results that the owners wanted and at the end of the day, the results are what matters most" or something on the lines of that.

    Either way,
    Forza Ranierri!!!!

Glad he's gone. Never really seemed like a good fit. Kept us up, but it was hard to see where progress would come from given that there were clear issues between him and a number of players. Next appointment is crucial though and needs to be somebody who is strong enough/well respected enough to bring the dressing room together and get rid of any negative influences.

The team could have done with continuity but with WM, the continuation would have just been ever lower..... I agree, he got worked up in the dug out and probably cared a lot more than how he came across (or failed to come across....).Will there be a few players following him out as part of a purge, or will the non-triers be cut some slack to see how they perform under a new boss? (Yes, Mr Capoue, I'm looking right at you)

Probably to avoid a backlash and a torrent of abuse aimed at him and some of the players, unfortunately some of our fans aren't the brightest and it could've been a pretty toxic parade of the pitch after the game had he remained.

Hard to show any kind of emotion towards him at the weekend seeing as he never had a song, was never really unnanamously booed, and all the whole, home fans just seemed pretty apathetic towards him most weeks and vented their anger at certain players more.

Boo/Cheer/Thank him all you want at the end of the game, his track record shows he'll b down the tunnel before he's heard any of it anyway.

Like many on here, for me it's summed up that he had to go as the first step towards rooting out the errors of this season. Sacking him isn't going to cure all the problems but you couldn't leave him in the position - it was becoming untenable. Sorting out this mess doesn't just begin and end with Walter getting his P45 though...

Who's next? I wouldn't really mind Mancini or Silva. Sadly it seems Clement is building something at Swansea as he'd have been my leading contender. So long as it's not Pardew... Whoever it is must have final say on transfers as this lot aren't a 'team', they are just individuals and that is down to the recruitment structure at the club.

No post-season time off for many in the back offices as their is A LOT of work to do.
