Guardian reporting permanent deal for £2.3m. I am certainly interested in seeing what he can bring to the table, if he can chip in a few goals that earn us points then that's pocket change. We need the pace up front, quite badly. According to this and Wikipedia, Zárate is a striker not a CAM so he seems to be an Ighalo replacement more than a Pereyra replacement.

 

If he dribbles past 3 players and then falls over on his debut and does nothing for the rest of thes season, I'll be happy with that , on the sole reason that he's given me a moments joy which is more than can be said for Deeney, ighalo ,capoue and all the other cxnts that have done F-all season despite being paid several times what Zarate will be getting.

 

It's the wrong time of the season to bring in players that you hope might adapt so his PL experience at his age and for that price is phenomenal, I'd almost swear we could have sold Lloyd Doyley for more.

 

Someone should tell the Guardian to not look at it by what position they play ffs.

Just my two penneth, was talking to my cousin (football fanatic, follows it religiously), when I told him we were going after Zarate, his face lit up and said he's a class player. He was brilliant at Lazio but Fiorentina hasn't worked out for him. If we get the Lazio player, he'll light up the team.

He also said of Gabbiadini, if you get him, brilliant.

I'd try Zarate in Capoue's position, supporting the strikers, as long as the player has a tackling and tracking back ethic.

 

Is it certain The Zarate Kid will be able to play in the Prem before the revised squad list is announced at the end of the month? The fact DJJ has vanished without trace since the Burton game makes me wonder. Clev can play obviously but we had vacant HG slots. Anyone know for sure?

BTW, in case anyone hasn't already mentioned it Herts Merc say the transfer's been delayed a day until after Fiorentina's cup game to get his suspension out of the way

It's true. It's why we haven't announced him yet. He stays at Fiorentina until Wednesday so he can serve his one match ban for their game tomorrow and he'll be avaliable for Millwall. If he signed before his ban is up it would carry over.

 

Napoli v Fiorentina 24 Jan. Signed by breakfast Wednesday morning.

The ban ends tomorrow, which is why it's not being announced til Wednesday. If he joined today then he'd be banned on Sunday.

 

Apparently he's serving a one match ban before signing on Wednesday. If he signs now, he won't be able to play against Millwall on Sunday.

Does anyone know why this one hasn't gone through today?

 

Classic Ponzo loopholing there. We should've also loaned Holebas to Fiorentina for a couple of days so he could've served half his ban there too.

 

So we will see him play on Sunday then, otherwise dodging a ban by delaying an announcement is pointless. I think I read somewhere he is banned but if someone could confirm?

 

I think they are delaying his transfer till this cold snap passes at the end of is week .
