[NOT HAPPENING] Kieran Gibbs

Think there's a few on here that would have a good old bash at us signing an Arsenal reserve.

 

Arsenal fan friend who follows people on Twitter who he trusts to get Arsenal transfers right, says Gibbs hasn't trained with the squad today, trained with Perez, rumours are 11mill deal agreed, just medical and then i's to be dotted and t's to be crossed.

For people who once worried the club might be losing its identity slightly by signing so many players from overseas, some of whom arrived and barely featured, I'd imagine a summer window so far of potentially two full England internationals and two England Under 21s would be good news.

Of course being home grown is not necessarily a sign of better quality, but one would hope there will be more longevity in this summer's transfers as opposed to the rapid turnover we saw in the early days of the Pozzo era.

 

It it's true, then I think he'll be a good signing (albeit transfer fee might dictate whether or not this is so).

But with all these English players now - it would be somewhat ironic if this was the season we go down

 

Would love Perez too, think he is exactly what we need in our attack

 

From the limited amount I saw of him I was very impressed. Hey stranger things have happened.

I think we ve got a reasonable chance based solely on the fact that footballers are so thick that they would genuinely pick a new club that meant they didnt have to work out a new way to go to work every morning.

 

Would be awesome if he was named in the squad against Villa. In fact it would be awesome if any new players that haven't been announced yet were named in the squad against them.

 

When have you ever known any club do that, let alone Watford?

 

Which is exactly my point. These player reveals are getting more creative and fun, so why not be the first club to announce a new signing by putting him in the match day squad. People going will buy a program, look at the squad on the back and POW, Gibbs in at left back.

 

The POW would be from Holebas punching Gibbs in the face!

What about finding Forestieti and Vydra are starting?

 

It's getting to the point when just signing Someone upfront would do.

Having read that article, wouldn't it be funny if we moved in and landed this Yann Karamoh kid that Arsenal and Spurs are both monitoring.

 

More worried that the majority of TV football pundits won't be able to use the same old bigoted and limited Watford script and cue cards this season. Sure Jeff Stelling and one or two others will adapt, but Merson and Shearer will definitely be in trouble! COYHS

 

They would probaley carry on the same as normal in fairness. Ignorance is easier than actually doing some research and anyway chalobah sounds foreign enough to keep them happy

 

They'll know about Chalobah as he played for Chelsea which is a great club

 

But they'll question his motivation, not to mention sanity, for joining tinpot Watford.

 

Lots of Arsenal fans on twitter wishing him all the best at Watford. I even came across a few Arsenal fan blogs that seem to think this is a done deal with us. Either they trust The Mirror way more than they should (most likely) or they know an "ITK" who has told them he is off (unlikely).

 

Nah, they'll just claim that they were right all along and that they always knew Watford would have to change their ways.

 

If we've left this late to avoid paying his crazy wages till the last minute I can only imagine how amazing the striker is going to be!

 

Well 'Arry Redknapp in his summary of each teams Prem chances this season trotted out the usual rubbish about our signing loads of foreigners that he has never heard of, so no change so far.
