http://www.francefootball.fr/news/Watford-vise-kaboul-et-capoue/565849 Kaboul story will not go away. Capoue, not seen enough of him to comment.
Werent the Spurs Medical staff saying that particular recurring injury was a thing of the past ? Im not an expert on Spurs so will bow to your insider knowledge. What do you think of Capuoe ?
Are we after every single Spurs reject? Mind you if they are anything like Allan Nielsen or Gomes then I am all for it.
My colleague is a season ticket holder and said he would be surprised if they offloaded Stambouli rather than Capoue, who needs to go.
Its funny how many exceptional young players suddenly turn shxt when they sign for Spurs. Spurs fans are remarkably fickle even by Premier League standards. Sorry THT81, but they are. Id say Spurs rejects could be an excellent hunting ground for us. Caboue was a full French international before signing for Spurs. Are we really in position to turn our noses up at players like that. Lets not forget , we re still seen, quite rightly, as a small club who have only just been promoted to the EPL, having come bottom in our only other 2 appearances at this level.
The few Roma fans I know are amazed what has happened to Lamela. But then I thought Saldado was the absolute Boll@@ks for Valencia... Gomes has unearthed something for sure.
Kaboul has been too error-prone when I've seen him, but I'm glad to be proven wrong by him if he signs. I was very impressed with Capoue when I saw him play for Spurs. Strong, fast, looked like his technique was decent too. When Spurs started him he seemed to get injured after a run of games and then not get in the team again. I'd prefer Capoue over Stambouli, but either one would be good, as someone made a good point that we don't have a natural Defensive Midfielder.
Can't see it - he was 11 million Euro when he joined Spurs. Imagine Levy will be trying to recoup most of that?
Capoue was excellent for Toulouse. Very fit, very strong in the tackle, aggressive and reads the game well. Stambouli uses more intelligence than physicality and is better at dribbling his way out of tight situations. Both would be great signings. I'd rather Capoue as I think our midfield needs some strength and physicality, but he is almost certainly on higher wages and would demand more of a fee. Kaboul would be better than what we have. Teams have stayed up with worse defenders than him. He's strong, got a good leap for a 6ft0 centre back, and comfortable with the ball at his feet. I'd probably rather have a quicker defender though, as I think our defence is lacking a bit of pace.
Hello again! You seem to be getting linked with a lot of our players you lucky, lucky things!:naughty: These two have both been on the naughty step and out of the team for months due, so the rumour goes, to some sort of weird incident where Kaboul claimed to be speaking on behalf of the squad and told the manager the squad was being overworked in training. Some of the others were furious at him claiming to speak for them and there was some big internal schism, with Poch siding with the others. Spurs: generally much more interesting off the pitch than on it. As players both these two have much to recommend them...and much to make you worry. Capoue is a beast on his day and is excellent on the ball. However, he slows play down and is lazy as hell. Kaboul...sigh. Our erstwhile captain is a shadow of the player he was (although he put in a pretty mighty performance away at Arsenal last season) and horribly injury prone. Would consider Capoue worth the risk for you, and Kaboul not.

I thought Kaboul was on a free for some reason. I understand the concept of starting high in a negotiation, but this is just preposterous.
Not a chance at that price or even half, though half that price might be a possibility if he qualified as home grown, but as far as I know he doesn't, so thanks but no thanks IMO!
I have read somewhere that he will be allowed to leave. No idea where the Mirror pulled that figure from....
He's under contract until next year - if Levy can get money for him he will. Errr....10 million sounds a little beyond even his bargaining powers though!
I can believe it. Buying any player from Spuds without paying over the odds is extremely difficult. Maybe we'll be looking elsewhere...
Levy's trying to put us in our place. Hope the Pozzos remember this when he wants to buy from us. Bid him the Slav farewell and move on to someone who wants to do proper business, rather than act like a Wembley Market wide boy from the eighties.
I'm surprised about all this speculation about us dealing with Spurs at the moment; did I dream this, but didn't we upset Spurs a few weeks ago about something?
By 2015, the mythical 'Pozzos' have become pseudo-legendary characters. The idea that some human called 'Levy' can out-negotiate them should be sneered at. I am sneering.
Maybe £10M is the price for a 2 player bundle & the media got confused? (It's the sort of thing that could easily confuse a journo)
Levy is off his rocker if he thinks Kaboul is worth £10 million. 29 years old and an average premier league defender. £3 million tops imo. What on earth does Levy plan to do with all his dud signings if he isn't willing to cut his losses. He's going to have 5+ players outside the 25 man squad doing nothing.
Even better - he's only got 1 year left on his contract. Levy is living in cuckoo land. This isn't a prize asset that he's offloading like Bale or Modric. I really hope we don't pay Levy a penny over true valuation for either Kaboul, Capoue or Stambouli. Just let them sit in the Spurs reserves with Levy picking up the tab.
