Adam Leventhal @AdamLeventhal · 1m #WatfordFC #Senegal #AFCON update Ismaila Sarr arrived back at Senegal base in Cameroon this morning after knee injury rehab in Barcelona. Won't play v Cape Verde today, may be in contention for QF/SF beyond that.
Oh god no, that's all we need him getting crocked again and missing the rest of the season, maybe we should sell him now before that happens
Come on the Verds! https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/s...maila-sarr-joins-senegal-african-cup-nations/ Doesn't look very happy to be back does he!
TBF he never looks happy. I guess IF he is fit, and can get a game or two in without injury at AFCON, that would be good news ? ps not the slightest chance that CV will beat Senegal !
Apparently Senegal followed the AFCON protocol and the team doctor examined Mane before allowing him to continue, but other medical experts are saying that Mane should have been taken off immediately when he was concussed. He was actually unconscious for a few moments, but he was allowed to play on until he asked to come off when he felt dizzy. It does not fill one with confidence that Ismaila Sarr will only be played by Senegal if he is fully fit to play.
In training with Senegal, looks like he could be playing in 3 days’ time. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/19878435.watfords-ismaila-sarr-back-training-senegal/
The sight of him limping round the pitch after 120 mins of a bruising goal-less stalemate would be the perfect end to the perfect January.
That's good, as long as he's not being rushed back too soon. If he plays a small part and Senegal lose that would work out quite well for us, with Sarr coming back with some minutes under his belt.
We should employ the Senegalese witch doctors when the tournament ends. Sarr would be out for another 6 months with our normie docs. #stereotyping #skullsandsmoke #templeofdoom
I'm going to attach my tin foil hat and say that the club will still say he's injured when he returns, even if he's fit enough to make the match day squad for us.
Senegal apparently want to play Mane at the week-end despite the fact he is supposed to have at least a week off after his concussion!!! That goes to show that they don't give a **** about their players welfare and makes me very concerned about Sarr. If Sarr and Mane are not 100% fit then Senegal should not be allowed to play them, and their fitness should be assessed by an independent FIFA medical team, not the Senegal medical team. Furthermore IMO independent FIFA & UEFA medical teams should have the final say on any disputes over a players fitness to play at all of the tournaments they operate and oversee. It should not be left to the Countries involved even when the players are already at their Countries training camps for any tournament.
I guess if Senegal lose we can have Sarr back for the Burnley game but they probably won't or he'll get re-injured.
Yes, but if they do force Mane back out there early, they'll be less likely to feel the need to do the same to Ismaila...
I just saw the notification when I was on here. Nice to hear he’s not lost his pace Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I hope they have not got him on painkillers just to get him playing, as if they have he will probably be finished for the season by the time he gets back to us, and possibly he will never get back to his high standards.
I doubt he is near match fit . Senegal are probably just rushing him back whereas we’d make sure he is fully fit first .
A goal and an assist in his two sub appearances, cant wait to get him back!!! He won the corner from which Senegal scored their first goal tonight also.
