Glad to hear your brother ended up ok.
Nyom wasn't that bad in fairness, even if the second half of that season was far worse than the first half!
I think his first full debut was against Spurs, maybe in a cup, but not sure.
He was left alone in an advanced midfield position on his own and just got over-ran, along with the rest of the team that had a shocker.
I'm gonna double down and say this guy is gonna be a huge star for us. People will mock LR for writing him off. He's gonna be a 100m transfer to PSG.
I'm sure of it.
That’s the spirit.
Barring a short cameo early in the season against Chelsea (not long before he almost got shifted on loan back to France!), that Tottenham game was his first of the season. According to Transfermarkt he did play attacking mid, but I was sure that I remembered him out wide that day, at least at some point!
That's probably the most glowing endorsement you've ever given anything in the forum's history.
Also his pre-season vs Arsenal, plus the clips I'd watched of him from his time in France, plus his stats.
Even if he might have potential, I don't think it's unfair to point out that he's clearly currently miles away.
I have plenty of capacity to do all those things - and the part of remembering many of the opinions posted is completely effortless. Ultimately it's not the most useful skill I'll readily admit, but it truly just occurs without me expending any conscious energy so I figure I might as well just roll with it.
This is sometimes the case, but not always - see how quickly Sierralta, Dennis, Kucka etc. appeared to get up to speed recently.
Maybe Louza might start doing well after a full season, but that still wouldn't contradict part of the main thrust of my comments when he signed which were that he didn't and doesn't seem like what we need right now, especially for such a decent chunk of our transfer budget.
Great, he might come good in a season, but that won't be much use if we've already got relegated, because we'd already spent the €8mil on him which we could have rather better used to, for example, already sign someone like Yokuslu who'd actually be ready to help keep us up this season.
This time next year you'll be licking the skids from his kecks. He'll be a legend.
***** LOL at people defending this bum. Trust your own eyes people, this guy is a horror show of a player.
When it's this obvious there is just no point in thinking he just needs time or some other nonsense.
He will never ever make it with us. Never.
Cop out. Good or ****. Pick one and stand by it.
In line with the undeniable truth's post above, I respect your attitude to this - it's on!
I don't think we need to be taking lectures from someone who said this about Cucho:-
And my personal favourite, also on Cucho:-
To steal a phrase, 'just ***** LOL' at anyone who listens to this guy about player quality.
Why tf did we chuck £8m at Nantes for this joker?
Come back once he manages to show himself to be anything other than a one-trick pony (or even if he manages to successfully repeat his one trick more than a few times throughout the entire season).
Tbh I was so drunk during the first half yesterday I couldn't form any reliable opinions but my instincts are telling me he's a legend in the making.
Cucho will go to Man U for 80m.
Great player then, but still not as good as £100m Louza.
Nah, we'll pull PSG's pants down. We won't believe our luck. We would have been hoping for 60m from Chelsea before paris come in.
Come on now, that's ridiculous! He's surely in line to be the natural successor to Aguero at Man City.
This is absolutely hilarious. You’re claiming victory over a signing is bad after 45 minutes where the whole team stunk? You can’t be a real person
Little bit off topic but I what the reaction would be if a keeper or defender let in 5 goals on his debut like Tony Coton did !
He might turn out to be rubbish but we need to give people a chance .
Paredes looked like the best right back the world has ever seen vs Bolton. After that his most meaningful contribution was throwing a ball into Daley Blinds face
What a debut that was.
Awful debut but I think he'll come good eventually, probably best to have him benched for Spurs and give him 90 minutes v Palace tomorrow.
Harsh judgment on JP's defensive work.
I read he would 'miss the start of the season' with no comment re: prospective return.
Club haven’t given a timeframe, Athletic said “next month” - but in true Leventhal fashion it was left unclear whether that was a date for returning to match squads or training (and is still quite imprecise either way).
'One to watch'
That was a thing of beauty.
Fark me sideways
Give the bloke a break
Coming in to the pace and aggression of a PL game from pre season and a pub league will have been a shock
If he has the basic skillsthen he will adjust
If not we just pissed 8m against a wall
Been auditioning for a boo boy this season , but slim pickings so far especially with Gray and Deeney not playing .
Think I’ve found my man now though .
His free kicks are absolutely beautiful (see delivery for WTE chance), but he needs to be good at something else.
He always gets a mention, so I thought it's high time he gets some recognition.
