It was worth reading. The whole mob are a load of dim chancers who have managed to get through life solely of the family's (or more correctly their dad's) little black book of contacts eg the Rees-Mogg London home was a rented (from the Cof E) house on an agreeable square a stone's throw from Westminster; because it was on a fairly long lease it qualified under the Tory's right-to-buy scheme - also meaning that as they had lived there for a while it could be purchased with a significant discount on the market price...
Is this the World’s feeblest ever scoop? A pre-pandemic picture of Sue Gray doing a bit of Karaoke? Harwood gets absolutely filleted in the comments. https://twitter.com/tomhfh/status/1533809922734948352?s=46&t=oqOMSJXE_g7J5C7kNPG9LA
Yesterday 30p Lee just came straight out with a lie to Parliament. Claims that he sees the same (food-bank using) family in McDonalds 2 or 3 times a week. How is that possible for him to know this? For him, a busy MP to always coincide his McDonalds visits with theirs? What a ****. It’s simply not true, just slandering foodbank using families. https://twitter.com/alison1mackitv/status/1631060022414262275?s=46&t=oqOMSJXE_g7J5C7kNPG9LA
He's a massive *****. Like most of their ilk. Private education, private health care, no need of public transport etc, etc. So out of touch with the masses who they are supposed to represent. They merely represent vested interests of finance, big business, cronies and themselves. Oakeshott is a detestable creature too. Self serving publicist and mediocrity of a journalist. Seeking her moment of fame and like her ilk happy to double cross at the first opportunity. Not that one should have one mote of sympathy for Hancock. Tony would have done a far better job as health secretary. His and his fellow Tories contempt for teachers, the police and in general the public has come out clearly in these messages. He and the likes of the odious Johnson should be behind bars on multiple manslaughter charges. Completely thick, dumb and irresponsible.
If you can the garbage they serve food. The way they and other fast food giants act in the developing world is part of the reason we're on our way to a global obesity crisis. They way they target the young is despicable and also get involved with sports sponsorship and pretend to be green. Laughable and disgusting.
For those that want to see the actual Privileges Committee interim report on Johnson, here is the link: https://committees.parliament.uk/pu...wQFnoECCUQAQ&usg=AOvVaw3ALtawUhKysHKu_XXbc2SA And yet he still claims there is "no evidence" that he misled Parliament! I can see why he, and his cronies, are trying to discredit the committee, Sue Gray and anyone else who is involved in exposing Johnson's lies over "party gate".
Anyone patiently waiting for an outbreak of humility within the Johnson family will be disappointed to read that Boris has nominated his father, Stanley, for a Knighthood in his resignation honours list.
Success, after success after success: 43 times the Conservatives tried (and failed) to tackle Channel crossings From jetski patrols to Rwanda deportations, the Tories have not been short of schemes to deter small boats One for the fora's medics: where they mention bone scans: Would that be scintigraphy which is an extremely complex technique to do:
I see Lineker is getting some grief this morning about a tweet. Obviously Lineker is an odious ****, but I don't see why BBC employees can't express their own political opinions, unless they are directly involved in political programmes that need impartiality.
Are you saying that he shouldn't be allowed to express an opinion on a social media site? None of us are experts on everything. Should we only comment on Twitter etc on subjects where we are experts? If we are "allowed" to express a political opinion why can't "celebrities"? If he made a political comment on Match of the Day then that would be a completely different matter. But I can't see how having a political view point, outside of work, impinges on his ability (or lack of) to do his football punditry job. It's none of the BBC's business (unless it specifically says in his contract that such public statements are not allowed) imho.
I haven't read Jug Ears's tweet but I understand the wise old sage compares modern Britain to Nazi Germany. This is plainly idiotic and does more damage to Lineker himself than it does the Tories
Well ******* read it then. He doesn't compare "Modern Britain" to "Nazi Germany", he says there are similarities between Braverman's language and the language used in thirties Germany to demonise "others". I thought you were intelligent, if misguided, Lloyd, but you have fallen for Mail/Telegraph/Express ******** hook line and sinker.
It would help if you did read it, because he doesn’t say that. He says the language used is ‘not dissimilar to’.
no i am saying that the chap is a football pundit and a mediocre one at best whether his sentiments have merit or not he is entitled to post under his personal account as long as it does not infringe on others rights or fall foul of rules why so much notice and anger has been taken of a random personal tweet for someone who is just essentially a highly paid television presenter i do not know a newscaster or political commentator makes a similar comment as it is within their sphere of employment then it is another matter
Tory Head Girl, Miriam Cates raised sex education at PMQs, indeed opening up a new front in the culture war, though this is one Conservatives have been waging for all time, from Section 28 to Gillick. Cates claimed that children are being taught about ‘choking’ for example. Hopefully, if so, the advice is aimed at older teens and is that they shouldn’t tolerate demands for anything they don’t like, especially dangerous stuff. However, it would be of no surprise whatsoever to find that many concerns are exaggerated and a Trojan Horse against LGBT. We would all deplore inappropriate sex education. However, Cates failed to actually evidence anything, so it’s all at the moral panic stage. ‘Down with this sort of thing’ and let’s keep young people ignorant for their own good because of adult hang ups. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politic...raphic-sexual-content-taught-children-school/
Have you read what Braverman said? What part of it is similar to Nazi rhetoric? Even the BBC say "It is not clear which language Lineker is referring to." Shouting "fascist' or 'Hitler' every time somebody says something you disagree with only serves to dilute the crimes of the last century
I heard and read exactly what Braverman said. "100s of millions want to come here". "rich enough to pay thousands to people smugglers" (even though they've probably sold everything the family has and more to try to give a child a better life). Btw, the "100's of millions" morphed into "billions, probably" this morning in the Mail. You know exactly what Lineker is referring to; it's not the gas chambers, or Kristalnacht (although some of the recent "migrant hunts" whipped up by Braverman are getting uncomfortably close) - it's the conditioning of a population into despising other human beings. It's working.
Do you think that the fact that if Mo Farah came across "illegally" today (as he did) that under Braverman's plan, he would be detained then deported to Rwanda when he reached 18, with no legal redress, is reasonable? She can't answer that of course.
If you look at the keyboard, there is an upward arrow at either end that you may find useful. Also a couple of keys on the right end of the row above the space bar. You might think this is pedantic - I think it shows a bit of respect for the people who are going to try to read what you have to say.
