Buy a set of very good comfortable ear plugs you will need them if you have a full days work ahead ;)

Do you think trying to get a private box in the GT stand may be stretching it?

This is a good point. However if your folks or your in-laws live nearby that can help as it can allow you to have a night out now again once the baby is a little older.

when you go visiting keep an eye on everything and everyone ... my mum put down a cup, turned to fish a photograph from a drawer and in a flash my then one year old had poured hot coffee all over herself.

Congratulations! My daughter turned 1 on Thursday. Don't agree with the hard work part tbh, she gives back 1000 times whatever 'work' she causes.

Easy way to disprove that. If it was a natural birth, there's no way it's got the "Deeney head."

Just reviewing this thread for advice again. Baby UEA arrived yesterday morning at 5.42...I think I got 2 hours sleep in 30 I worked out by the time I collapsed into bed last night. She's absolutely fantastic though and the wife did a great job.

Get used to that and you will do fine.

Patience is best explained by remaining calm while your little one screams away early at night and you cannot fathom out what their issue is.

Its one hell of a steep learning curve, despite all the classes and book reading before hand.

Birth went all the way through to emergency C-section, and as much as it was junk TV.. watching "One born every minute" gave me so much experience on what to expect that I was able to keep my head and support the Mrs all the way through it. If I hadn't have watched it, I would have been in no fit state to help at a time when she needed me most.

It's been very tiring and I'm now back at work... but all the hardship is worthwhile when they look at you and smile. Suddenly realising its 2pm and you havent had breakfast has not been unusual
