i enjoyed pretty much all of the campaign bar about 10 mins of the last mission. the storyline is brilliant and really sets the story up well for the next couple of games. 343 has done a brilliant job with the multiplayer too. spartan ops mode is far more fun than firefight used to be, and with the promise of free new content for it over time this mode should keep you interested well after the campaign is done.

 

Tempted to get it at midnight, despite knowing it's going to be a huge disappointment.

 

I've played Cod 4, WaW, MW2, Blops, and MW3 - got the last three on day of release/midnight release but I'm packing the series in now - it's just the same game over and over again, same **** players sitting in corners, using overpowered guns, etc. Sick to death of it so no I will not be getting it

 

Modern Warfare 3 was absolute dog sh*t. I'm only interested in Black Ops II because they've gone in a different direction with setting and story this year but other than that I agree with you. Activision are one of those who have fallen into the "we don't need to improve it, the name will sell it" catergory.

 

Yeah this one actually looks fairly interesting and different, whereas MW3 looked like the same old crap and was.

 

Instead of lobbing my controller because I was killed by a knife by a player 10 yards away, I'll be making coins on FIFA 13 Ultimate Team and hopefully selling them on Ebay, any tips on how to avoid the item being taken off are greatly appreciated #novice

 

Even if the Multiplayer is terrible, I do enjoy playing a bit of Zombies, you cant really go wrong with it. Although this one can only be better, it would quite some achievment to make another Call Of Duty worse than MW3.

Starting to get into FIFA 13 now, but I'm not sure what this Ultimate Team thing is? Shall I give it a go?

 

100% yes. I never bothered before this year but I'm glad I finally did and am completely addicted to it. It's by far the best thing about the game.

 

Also picked up Black Ops II in the end last night, very samey as expected but a lot more fun than the piece of crap that MW3 was. Liked pretty much all of the maps so far.

 

On the subject of Ultimate Team, anyone got a better side than me? Only two players off having the exact team I want but at the moment it's:

Just need Lloris and Ribery (could take a while) and I'll have the exact squad I set out to put together.

Reached the January transfer window, sold Garner and ****inson for combined 600K, Hodson has asked to leave but isn't going for any less than 750k. Brought in an 18 year old right back called Cisse.

Had a few bids for Vydra inlcuding 3.3m from Fulham, and ironically 2.9m from Udinese. Not selling for anything that I can't refuse for the mo

Going with my policy on bringing in young players, I decided to sign Sordell on loan until the end of the season; he only goes and scores a hatrick on his debut.

Dropped down to 8th after a beyond woeful November

Beat Wycombe 1-0 in the third round of FA cup, then got drawn against Arsenal. Drew 1-1 away, won 2-0 in the replay, next up is Villa

 

Through to the final of the FA Cup against Chelsea after dispatching Villa, Newcastle, and Hull.

In the league I am 4th with three games to go; guaranteed to finish in play off positions.

Won the play offs and the FA Cup!!

Beat Chelsea 2-1 in the cup, beat Leeds 4-2 aggregate in semis and Bolton 4-0 in the final

Vydra also won golden boot with 26 goals in the league

Blackburn finish first, followed by Wolves. Relegated to League One are: Millwall, Peterborough, and Barnsley

It's the start of February and have had an impressive season so far as we sit 5th after 23 games, some notable results along the way both bad and good, such as beating Man United 3-0 away, and then somehow losing 5-0 to them at home. Lost 4-1 to Swansea on the second game, beat Chelsea 1-0 (a clean sheet is rare for me).

Didn't do much in the January transfer window...

Bought an 18 year old called Fagundez as papers reported he is 'the next big thing' - he scored the equaliser in a 4-4 game against Peterborough in the FA Cup to save some dignity.(won on pens)

Sold Almunia to Ipswich for peanuts

Received a bid of 10.5m from Real Madrid for Adryan but declined as he is only 19 and rated 77, he'll get much better

Obviously some improvements can be made, when and where finances allow..... but it's a well balanced team..... pace/ flair on the wings and through the attack.... big, meaty guys in the middle to break up play. Good a good record so far whilst building this Bundesliga team..... 15 wins, 5 draws 3 losses. After adding Gomez, Piszczek and Hummels (all around 15-20k each) it is going to start costing a lot.... Lahm, Schweinsteiger, Neuer... (idk.... like 60-80k each)... then Robben/Ribery who are something like 200k and 700k each I think....... :/ Think I'll just be happy to get the right three and Lahm tbh...

I've mostly been playing seasons.... just to cut out the jargon Ultimate Team forces upon you.... plus I think the gameplay in UT is a bit faster and I don't particularly like that. On seasons like to stick with lower teams... around 3 1/2* or 4* and I have a pretty nice record going with that. On my way to division 1 title....

 

How do you make your coins on UT, trading? I have 411k coins

 

No I can't be bothered with trading. I play FIFA to play a football game not make game coins wasting hours of my day on the market. No offence, it can become quite addictive I just find it very boring.

I play matches..... it's as simple as that. Winning a season in division one gets me 8.5k plus all the match earnings along the way. I also made a one off buck from buying Jerome for 1.5k Buy now and selling for 45k. Quite lucky really....

Also given up on buying packs. I'm not particularly lucky with them..... might as well just build my team with the coins instead.

Nope never spent a penny on packs. Just through coins I got in the game.

 

Finished the season in 6th place and won the FA Cup, Newcastle won the league!
Promoted from Championship were Bolton, Southampton, and Cardiff :dismay:
