I don't get the obsession with Grosicki personally. People been watching too much YouTube again methinks.

 

I don't think there's any doubt that The Birdhouse has a lot of quality, it's just a question of whether or not Silva feels he's the right kind of player for the job he has in mind. If he does we'll keep him, if not we'll probably sell him for as much wonga Gino can extort out Feyenoord, or whoever else wants him.

 

I'm a Berghuis fan so I hope you are right. Have enjoyed watching him this year on Sky and quite jealous of Feyenoord fans. Maybe thinks he has unfinished business at the Vic but most of the noise has suggested he is leaving. Don't think Silva can promise him a starting spot any more than QSF or Mazzari and for me that is the sticking point. More than happy to be proved wrong!

 

Can't he, though? It's not like we have a wealth of better options on that wing. Amrabat played there most of last season and became a professional thrower away of chances, though he still has many defenders on here. Occasionally Janmaat played as a winger but he is really more of a full back that is capable of going forward. Would love to see the two dutchmen link up on the right side.

 

I don't think anything will happen for a couple of weeks to allow Silva a chance to have a proper look at him. I really hope he is given a chance but if not surely Feyernoord will need to up the bid a tad. £4-7m is laughable

I don't get the impression that his unfinished business includes being a success here. I believe he would rather leave.

 

Janmaat is more of a full-back that is capable of being injured.

He does want to leave and Feyenoord really want him. That only ends one way.

 

It's not laughable though is it? He doesn't play, he wan't s to leave and the deal we signed him on was worth £4.6 million, I doubt it was £4.6 million up front and because of his lack of game time here I really doubt any clauses have been triggered since his arrival. Contract is up in 2019, if we don't shift him now we'll certainly get less than what's being offered now next Summer.

 

Not played because of the style of play. Been a roaring success in Holland so yes it is laughable compared to some of the other ridiculous prices being touted. I would prefer it if we give him a go here

I think this demonstrates how highly thought of he is. Convince him to stay imo. Do we have a better winger in the squad right now?

 

The best answer is probably a further year loan to Feyenoord (with them paying a loan fee similar to Vydra's at Reading). We get say £2m which will cover about the original purchase price and assuming he continues to improve and stands out in the Champions League his potential transfer value will go up.

 

See this being more likely than a transfer. but i really think he'll stay until at least the end of pre-season so Silva can decide for himself. Berghuis and agent has said he's happy to stay if he's given playing time.

 

Get Berghuis crossing then and sign that tiny Venezuelan Joltedo to get on the end of them . Deeney pulling the strings in the DLPM role

 

And I assume it goes without saying, we resign Forestieri at wing back
