https://twitter.com/sam_ucko/status/1538124402805678081 Spin has started. He is coming and there is nothing we can do about it.
Like his associate (I think) essentially immediately shutting (part of) his argument down and him just being forced to accept it. He really is going overboard on the PR train all of a sudden - surely can't be coincidence that suddenly everything the club is doing is absolutely correct and anyone questioning it is wrong and a hypocrite, again.
Sam and Jacob are lovely chaps. But they are young and impressionable. The club have taken them under their wing so they are bound to be supportive of the club now. They will deny it, but it stands to reason. I think Sam is very emotional, so blows in the wind a little. Jacob seems more grounded and rational in his comments. But, I much prefer Uncle Ron. He’s more my cup of tea.
I think he is also called Rupert. He pops up now and again. He has his own pod now. Really anti-Gino, which I don’t like too much, but a lot of his observations are bang on.
If you're on Twitter you need to follow him, he's great fun. Almost every tweet is complaining about something and screaming for Pozzo to leave. I'm sure he must be on this forum, if you're here Ron then keep doing what you're doing!
Think he's a bit too negative sometimes, shitting on players I can guarantee he's never seen, and sometimes his arguments are incoherent, but he's one of the few Twitterers who's got the balls to criticise those who really need criticising
Is it not possible that they're both just optimistic young men, with renewed excitement about a new season following their team? Rather than them being puppets controlled by their Italian overlords? To be honest I'm jealous that I carry the cynicism these youths are unburdened by.
Possible, yes, but not (entirely) what I believe is happening in this particular circumstance. Obviously, at the same time, I don't think it's as organised or sinister as I imply for somewhat comic effect, but I do believe the causal relationship is there in a 'bite the hand that feeds/I've been given a nice thing again so I won't dare jeopardise that' way. I am the kind of dull person who wasn't unburdened by that cynicism when I was one of those youths, sadly, so I've just always been this way.
I pity you. You never felt the genuine naive excitement I felt as a young man when we announced the signing of Craig Forsyth.
Just finished his tenth consecutive season in the Championship, making almost 250 appearances in that time!
We'd be better off signing an acrobat to complement the clowns running the club and the circus it is becoming.
Told my colleague today (muff season ticket holder) about the Afobe link. I think it was about 09:51 at the time… I left work at 17:49 and he was still laughing.
Ran around a lot, albeit with precious little end product, but in these testing times, I'd take that in a Watford player!
Sound very similar to me Amrabat did run around a lot and scored I think once which is the opposite of polar
Nope. 48 appearances and 0 goals, one of the finest examples of a non scoring winger you could wish to see. Still remember Quique insisting he'd been signed as a back up striker and then him never playing there.
Would not be against him signing if it was a free contract and a two year deal with an option for a third. He's a foil to bring others into play allowing someone like Pedro or if we are lucky a Vydra to succeed. Another striker and a midfield destroyer and we are in a better state.
