An unemployed one unfortunately, I spoke to him a few weeks back and he was 'desperately looking for a job'. One of the good guys that missed the money coming into the game.
We were giving £3k a week to a youth team goalie who never got near the first team squad under Ashton's reign, so don't be surprised if that figure is near enough...
Taylor urged to fight for his place at Boro. http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/12012011/63/taylor-urged-prove-worth.html
That's probably not a good sign that talks are progressing in our favour. :doom: It's strange because the manager seemed to suggest that Taylor wouldn't get a sniff of the first team because there are 2 other left backs who he thought were better. :-\
Don`t forget his contract is up in the summer. It could be a ploy to get WFC to make a bid for him now.
Yeah but we could use him for the rest of this season, I've got no idea about how much Borough would want for him though. If it was only around £150k which I've seen before on here, then I'd say it's worth buying him now.
Is the money there to buy him? I suspect not. Let's just hope the club state their position with this soon.
Malky said the clubs doing everything in it's power to bring him back here. If we don't get him back, it won't be for want of trying.
Well if they are still trying then it means the move is possible. I can only assume that we have been waiting to get the Duck off the wage bill.
i would say we will probably sign him tommorrow either permanent or loan. Im saying this based on ellingtons departure and that previous transfer windows indicate we usually sign a player on a friday or hours before the transfer markets shut ??
Right, i have just had a chat with my source regarding Taylor. He says that Taylor will sign, most probably on loan, until the end of the season and he will be available for Cardiff away with there being a slight possibility of him completing the move in time to play Derby. Mutch however is a different matter and whilst he is likely to rejoin on loan this transfer window it is most probably going to be in the last week of January as discussions with Birmingham regarding a new deal are stalling.
WO seemed to suggest the problem getting Taylor back were his wages and how much we can afford to pay... Waiting for Mutch to sign his new deal still.
Great. That's Taylor out the window then. Shame because he was brilliant for us and looked like he had settled in really well with Watford.
Although i'd love to see him back here, along with Mutch. After todays and last weeks result I think it shows that we can manage without them.
I knew someone would say something like that that. Doyley is still not the answer at left back, the team is poorer with him there rather than Taylor, and without Taylor and Mutch the squad overall is weakened and will be less able to cope with injuries and suspensions.
A Taylor may have played today to put him in the shop window as much as boro looking at any improvement to play him themselves - after all they have been more than uckin useless this season with out him..
Its not over yet. His contract is out at the end of the season and he won't get anything like what he is on now.
I thought the defence looked shaky. One change in personnel and two in positions and all of a sudden the Loach/defence communication issue rears its head again. Marriappa doesn't look comfortable at right back and Lloyd looked lost a couple of times.
We did look a lot more stable at the back with A. Taylor in the side. I know we managed to get a clean sheet today, but we could have kept a clean sheet if Derby had kept on playing until the Sarries game next Friday. If we can get him back, we should.
Malky said in the programme today that he's trying hard to get both Taylor and Mutch back. Hopefully now we've freed up some wages with Ellington's loan we'll be able to get them.
Remember, Ellington was on loan and so Skoda were paying a proportion of his wages anyway. The same will be at PNE, he only joined on loan, I would imagine we are still paying the same amount so no wage budget changes unfortunately
