Well said he said that he will be a Watford for the season and said good to his Granada team mates i think this is something we have to get use to the club being slow when telling us stuff
Flores and Torje went on loan to Granada from Udinese. They are very good (http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/udinese-calcio/verliehen/verein_410.html) but were tired to stay on bench behind Di Natale. Also, from Pozzo's point of view, too much time on bench is lowering their market value (see link above). :sign13: So Geijo would be a sub on Granada now behind them. This would be a waste if he can be more useful playing a lot (and hopefully well) in Championship. Good for him, and good for the owners of the clubs, I'd say.
No matter who we sign or are trying to sign or who we're linked to sign it will never be accepted by everybody but that's just human nature. We all have different views on what we need to be successfull and how we should do it. What is slightly annoying is that people think he's a bad signing before he's even in the country and having not seen him play. Can anybody honestly say they knew exactly who this bloke was when he was first mentioned and what kind of player he is? Lets give him and the other new guys a chance. Remember the stick Nos got before he arrived and he had a great end to the season. For what it's worth this fella has a decent record in a league similar to our own and looks quite good on YouTube. We needed a proven goalscorer and these aren't cheap so for me this looks like a decent option. Only time will tellarty1: Cheers
Unfortunately the internet generation expect things to be done yesterday. Like acquiring a business in a matter of days!
I had him in my team on FM. Didn't score in the first 5 games so I dropped him for Sam Baldock who was a great success, ergo, until we sign Sam Baldock I will not be attending any Watford games, except to boo all the Carlos Kickaballs lining up under Zola to claim their paycheques whilst they moan about our weather and our food.
Going outside?
That's not true, if no one laughs the first time you should just keep repeating it louder and louder until someone laughs or punches you in the face.
What is going on the player said`s he has sign for Watford said his goodbyes to his teams mates get in to London on Monday and Zola wont comment on him Watford head coach Gianfranco Zola refuses to comment on Udinese striker Alex Geijo 1:18pm Tuesday 7th August 2012 in Watford FC News Gianfranco Zola has refused to comment on whether Udinese striker Alex Geijo is joining the club but has indicated "two or three" new faces may arrive this summer. Swiss striker Geijo, 30, heads a list of transfer targets to be linked with the club and the player seemed to confirm he was moving to the Hertfordshire club on his twitter account at the weekend. A translation of his tweet read: "Well then, I'm going to English club Watford on loan from Udinese for a year. On Monday I will travel to London. Wanting to start now." Despite this clear indication from the striker, Zola refused to comment on the striker, or other individual transfer targets, but did state that more players will be coming through the doors. He said: "There will certainly be one or two players, maybe three, who will be joining us to try and strengthen the team a little bit more, that’s for sure. "We will see. I don’t know which ones but there will be maybe two or three players to strengthen the team. "Saying that, I am very pleased with the others, and I’m sure we can do very good things." Since the takeover by the Pozzo family, Watford have had access to Udinese's vast scouting network, as well as an advantageous partnership with the Pozzos' other clubs Udinese and Granada. So far the Hornets have benefited from the relationship with the two clubs by signing five players on season-long loans, with Geijo expected to be the sixth. Another player the Hornets are interested in is QPR striker DJ Campbell but we understand claims he was set to sign yesterday are premature.
It's not been confirmed in the Italian press yet and the club won't then officially confirm it until a week later even though he will be with the squad warming up at Gillingham tonight based on this summer so far.

Just reading his tweeting and he posted this on Sunday...... Este año el watford sube seguro, vaya equipo que estan haciendo, la guinda @GeijoAlex” ojalaaaaaa ))) @ http://twitter.com/GeijoAlex Which translated via google means....... Watford are going up this year, we are going to be amazing (hopefully) ))) But could also mean I'm going Ice Skating in Watford this year. LOL at their silly fans thinking I'm joining. FFS. FML. (LOL)
Unfortunately so am I. I was estatic when Zola got appointed and the Pozzo's became the owners as I thought that they would give Zola plenty of money to spend on signings that he wants. Now it just seems like theses Udinese/Granada players that are coming over here Zola really doesn't know much about. Geijo seemed pretty sure that he would be signing, but as Zola has probably never seen him before maybe he doesn't fit into his plans. Im a tad concerned that our manager doesn't know to much about our new players considering the season starts this Saturday and also most of these new players haven't played for 90 minutes in months.
In all fairness I think we have be to be patient as they haven't really had the time to identify targets for us to purchase this year due to how late the takeover went through, in the same way people should have understood that a lot of last summer's signings were just a case of signing extra bodies to fill up the squad after Manky ****ed us over and nicked all our targets.
I think you're right. i also think that they are players that lack the fitness that we need to start the season. Zola goes to Nani says he needs a striker and hey presto another Pozzo pool player arrives. I don't think that the Pozzo network and scoutng system expands this far yet
If you include the behind closed doors match against Barnet, it's not been a bad pre-season..only one defeat and that against a top 4 PL side..a few clean sheets, lots of different goal scorers BUT..and I think this is important..a feeling that there is MUCH more to come! I'm still scarred by the Dave Bassett season when we won all our pre-season games impressively!
