It would be a huge boost to keep him, even until the next transfer window, but it is not going to happen. We need the money and he wants to play at a higher level. He was a class above last night. If the Pozzo a could fund the retention of all three of our attackers last night, it would be very difficult not to see us get promotion. Give Dennis an improved contract with a buy out clause for £20m (not operative until July 2023) and ask him to go out show his worth for the rest of the season. Need a consortium of investors to come in for a share of the project. Over to you Elton.
Everton mght be on the lookout for a new striker this month: https://www.footballinsider247.com/...in-ruled-out-for-3-months-in-shattering-blow/
Everton will be desperate so if they come calling I suggest that figure is where we start. I think a lot will depend on Dennis or where he wants to see his future
It's certainly work in our favour if it's them and they have limited options late in the window. Ironic if so as we'd be getting the Richarlison money they just made to buy his replacement from us.
Genuine question but are Everton still affected by FFP? They couldn’t spend a penny last season until they they sold Digne. Obviously they sold big nose but also spent £20m on McNeil, long story short we probably aren’t getting an over the odds amount from Everton because their past behaviour had caught up with them.
Just a starting figure. Under no illusion we would get that but I reckon they will be desperate which pushes the price up. Start high and go from there
I would imagine the discussions that will have been held with his agent have already established an effective 'minimum sell price' of £20 million. Those discussions would have been at the start of pre-season when the club would have envisaged more interest in Sarr and I cannot imagine Dennis' advisers being willing to 'golden handcuff' him with a higher price than that, especially not in the context of what we bought him for. Not to say Dennis would necessarily agree to go to any club offering that much, but if it's one he likes the look of, I think we'd be fooling ourselves to think we'd get more. I now await Everton coming in with a desperate £25 mill offer....
I’m hearing that Dennis’ move to Bournemouth has hit a stumbling block at the eleventh hour. It seems Gino made an additional demand that the loan fee (believed to be around £150k) be paid to an unknown third party, not Watford FC. He wants to ensure the club do not benefit at all from the arrangement. Bournemouth were not keen on doing business with an unknown third party but acquiesced in order to get the deal over the line. HOWEVER, a further complication arose around Dennis’ earlier demand that all red squirrels on nearby Brownsea Island are exterminated before his arrival (he has a morbid fear of them). It seems Dorset County Council agreed to the demand as Dennis is considered a bigger benefit to the local economy than these tiny red nut munchers. But the UK Government intervened and blocked the extermination. Deal looks now to be dead in the water (unlike the squirrels).
Get as much as we can. Everton are renowned for paying ridiculous fees. No harm in asking for £30 million imo.
You get more insight when you are ITK obviously. Red squirrels are over 5ft tall in Nigeria so I can see why Dennis might have a fear of them.
Moyes doesnt like his character apparently. https://www.westhamzone.com/news/we...t-of-emmanuel-dennis-race-over-his-character/
He also said to a female journalist that she would get a slap. https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...erland-charged-fa-female-reporter-slap-remark
West Ham have already signed Scamacca and added Cornet to their neverending stable of jinking but fairly direct wide attackers/forwards/wingers - character or not, will they seriously be in the hunt for another one to add to the mix? Bowen Antonio Scamacca Cornet Lanzini Fornals Benrahma Dawson
ET doesn't mind a cat kicker, but has a problem with someone that hasn't caused any issues since being in the UK (that are widely reported anyway)? Lol. Oh well, better for us if he stays put! Just need to get Sarr out the door!
Anybody still think we will get anything near what Gino is asking for him after last nights performance? Personally I would be happy to get £10 million for him just as long as he is out of the club.
But he’s arguably our best player? He’ll get well into double figures this season if we keep him. £10m won’t win us promotion.
https://twitter.com/i/status/1557282870988865537 SSN saying Forest want Dennis on loan with an option to buy. That juicy £100k loan fee must be tempting to Pozzo. Would pay Danny Rose's wages for a couple of weeks.
They can just pay 20 million if they really want him. We don’t need to sell apparently so why agree to a loan move . https://mobile.twitter.com/WD18Fans/status/1557282870988865537
