A couple of rumours this morning that Leicester might be sniffing around again. Will be interested to see how this pans out now they're champions. I'm sure if they came in for him it would be difficult for him to resist. Could be an interesting summer!

Probably his only chance of Champions League football. Would probably also get him an England call up from Woy, moving to a massive club.

Zero chance of it happening. Deeney is to Watford what di Natale is to Udinese.

Might depend on who the new manager is?

Trouble is, di Natale has played CL football for Udinese. i hope he wouldn't and I'm sure we can match them for personal terms but it all depends on....

    NNOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!

Normally I think he would not consider doing this, but Champions league might just be enough to sway him, very worrying :frown:

Wouldn't blame him at all if he wanted the move, he deserves the chance. He's the one player in our squad though who's simply irreplaceable. Would new a real headache.

This is something I could see actually happening. Champions League football on offer at a club similar to Watford which values a team ethic. He would be a perfect fit for them.

I can hear the Leicester chants now "Did you cry when Deeney signed". Judging by the support they now have on this forum, no doubt many will be delighted that Watford's favourite son will go to their new favourite second team.

Would not blame him one little bit and would wish him the best of luck, and i would hope he would be allowed to leave with the clubs and supporters blessing, people will hate me for saying this but it may be a blessing in disguise with the new manager coming in as it seems Troy has so much clout at the club and may be easier for the new manager coming in to stamp his authority. For some reason i have pictured Troy in a Leicester shirt.

I also think Deeney will go this summer. Whether we like it or not, Leicester is just about the perfect move for him.

I'll be gutted, but if he wants to go and play Champion's League football for the English champions, whose team fits his character perfectly, who am I to tell him he shouldn't? It's also conveniently close to his home in Birmingham.

He's shown a level of loyalty to us that is rare in today's game, he's earned a move like this. It would be seriously **** for us though.

Why can't you accept that we as neutrals as happy to see a new and unfashionable team win the league on a small budget, and also earn champions league football for the following season in the process?

I'll give you some outright honesty here; I enjoyed your posts when you first joined this forum and felt you were at times harshly treated by others on here, but you have done little else recently except embarrass yourself time after time. Why try and have a dig at those supporters that (unlike you) do not bear some relentless and quite frankly weird and outright baffling grudge against Leicester and its supporters.

I'm saying this for your own good; stop being such a ****ing melt, HB.

Deeney moved closer to Watford after signing his new contract either last summer or the summer before. I remember him saying it in a Talksport interview saying that as captain it was time to step up and move closer. Said it was a nightmare experience as well if I recall correctly.

Deeney would be a brilliant signing for Leicester, he is exactly what they need up front alongside Vardy.... which is what worries me about this rumour

Bolasie would be great for them as well

What Troy would need to take into account, is that he is a shoe in to play virtually every game here, but would he be at Leicester? He might not even get into their Champions League squad and might only be used to make up the numbers, he needs to consider that, which hopefully he will and stay with us!

Don't go Troy, WFC will get you into Europe soon! If Leicester can do it, so can we, but we need you to help!

"Melt" is the new forum word.....so I'm glad you've now find an opportunity to use it. You wouldn't want to be on the outside now would you.

What I do not like is the hypocrisy of it all. No one is really delighted for Leicester, apart from Leicester fans, yet everyone is celebrating like it's their own club that's won the league. It's truly galling that everyone has to jump on the bandwagon.

I like the story of a small club winning the Premier League, but it stops right there. Do we all marvel at Blackburn, after all they are a small club that won the very first Premier League?

It's this hysteria that I do not like, when people all act like sheep following the opinion of everyone else, because it's the "in thing" to do.

Have you consider the alternative explanation? That everyone is genuinely happy for them and you're a cynical, miserable old fart?

Is Deeney necessarily good enough for Leicester now? Would they not be aiming higher? If they had finished 7th-10th this season I could see why this rumour had resurfaced.

Once again I feel compelled to come to HB's defence. It is possible that nobody else here was at that game they relegated us..that's fair enough. It's great too that a smaller club has pissed over the PL parade. If you had a choice though of all the 2nd and 3rd rate clubs in the Prem who of you would actually want it to be Leicester to do the *******?

Put downs are cheap, but are frequently resorted to when your argument is weak. I accept that,, so it's ok.

I just don't like the hypocritical nature of it all. Even Gary Lineker was saying that the appointment of Ranieri was a terrible one. Now he can't stop singing his praises.

No one is genuinely happy for them, why would they be? What are Leicester, or any other club that I don't support, to me? It didn't seem like Sheffield Wednesday were genuinely happy for us to win the league last season, but they were genuinely happy that managed to stop us from winning it.

I will say in a few weeks from now, people will be genuinely sick to death of Leicester and their entire story. I just got to that point earlier than most.

This outlook is almost autistic in its solipsism

How can you sit there and say "no one is genuinely happy for them". Firstly you aren't a mind reader so you simply can't know that.... Secondly, do you realise that there are other people in the world who don't think the same way as you?

.....by the same token, how do you know everyone is genuinely happy? Are YOU a mind reader? The term "everyone" is a collective, so it doesn't mean the entire population. There are always exceptions.

I think there are some neutrals who are genuinely happy, but then there are many who jump on the bandwagon and go along with it all, with their fake gestures of joy, because it's the fashionable thing to do. Before long "everyone" will be sick to death of the Leicester story......I'm pretty sure of that.

    Deeney going in the summer?

Reports today saying Leicester looking to bid for Deeney..with the new TV money a bid of around 20M likely.

Rarely believe football gossip columns,it's usually just that, but I think the stars are now aligning & although I hate the thought of this, I think our talisman will be off this summer..& not because we need the money.

Let's face it, as an individual he has pretty much reached his full potential at Watford & given that he is as ambitious as they come, how could the lure of CL or at least a title chasing club not tempt him now?

    Let's see

The omens are not good in recent times for our regular forwards when they leave for "better" things. Sordell, Graham, Priskin, the French lad whose name escapes me. All considered irreplaceable at the time and sold because we needed the cash. Even Vydras loans have failed. On the other hand fringe forwards seem to have done ok - Forestieri, Assambalonga, did well.

Last few years I haven't at all been worried about Deeney leaving, regardless of money chucked at the club.

However this year, although the club is in its strongest ever position thanks in no small part to Deeney to a point where we won't need money from a massive sale, I'm nowhere near as confident as him staying. If Deeney wants international football with England (And he does) then realistically he'd need to move club to Leicester or a Top 4 (6 if pushing) to get into Roy's squad.
