Just opened the ticket app this morning to download my Brighton ticket to my Google pay wallet to find it gone - yet all of the home fixtures added as separate tickets (all listed with dates from 7th-9th July 2021?!) even though those of us with season tickets don't need them. The wonders of modern technology!

Have you received the email with the link to download your ticket then?

Does the email contain a QR code to use or is it NFC only?
I am not going to Brighton but have bought tickets for Spurs where it says paper tickets will be issued.
I can not see any information about the Brighton game on how you can get your ticket if you can't use NFC. Are clubs trying to exclude all those with NFC from games?

As I was let in without scanning my ST on my phone, can someone please tell me if I am supposed to put my phone in the reader or just hold it up to the scan. I have an android phone and the ST shows with a QR code.
    Thanks

No, it was in the 'Tickets' option in the menu on the tickets site when I bought it a couple of weeks ago. Last week the 'Download NFC mobile' facility was greyed out, I was checking it today.

I held it next to the scanner & it didn't work, neither did it when I put it in the reader. I tried holding it in front again and this time it worked.

The standard three attempt rule. That’s how NFC technology works.

Well, yes. I had a Brighton ticket in my account; now it is not there. It is not dowmloaded to my G-pay wallet as that option was not available when it was there. There is not even a record of the purchase in my ticket history. As it stands, no paper ticket, no electronic ticket, no evidence of purchase (apart from bank account), match on Saturday.

Yes but - and I mean this not to come across as a jab at you and accept it highlights the lack of confidence people have in the new system - they’ve said to wait for an email which will come this week. So anything to do with your ticket account is irrelevant. Things have been appearing and disappearing from there for the 3-4 weeks. It’s obviously broken so calling this early in the week to double check is just adding to the TO workload. Hence the ‘too busy, piss off’ message.

I think after an element of readjustment things will settle down. But we need to get used to tickets dropping into our account/inbox maybe a day or two before games rather than appearing on the doormat a fortnight before or whatever.

Fair enough, but communication is the issue. Where have they said wait for an email?

Fair enough, unfortunately I only got as far as 'group A tomorrow' - as would many; there was no mention of the e-mail link in the e-mail confirming purchase, which would be the obvious place to highlight arrangements. Indeed, if they don't want useless phone calls clogging up the switchboard, they should be highlighting arrangements in bold at the start of articles and mailers.

Has anyone used the ‘distribute’ function yet or know what you can do with it within your ‘relationships’?

All of my emails go to my desktop Apple Mac which is not linked to my mobile phone (I do not receive any emails by phone because I can't be ar5ed to look at them when I'm out). So how do I get the ticket from my Mac to my phone? .

Just log onto the ticket site from your phone Grandad and download it.

You can't do that, it's an away ticket and doesn't show up, or mine certainly didn't.

Lloyd, just open up a browser on your phone and log into your emails that way, can click on the download link then

I thought that was for when you buy tickets for other people in your group and you 'distribute' the link to them to download to their own wallets. I don't know if that is only for the 'strong' relationship or any.

Thanks for that Timbers. I'm not sure what Ive done but it involved forwarding the clubs email to someone and receiving the link to the ticket back in WhatsApp. It seems to have worked though. Now I've just got to figure out how to update the NHS app!
Why doesn't the club send the ticket download link via SMS? there must be plenty of people who choose not to receive emails on their phone?

Ok, but presumably not a way to distribute your own ticket to another member of your group when you can’t make it?

I would think most people who have a smart phone receive emails on it. But the club are not going to care about people who don't.

Remember they are forcing NFC ticketing upon us when less than 1/4 of people have ever used this technology. It is all about making it easier for the club, not about making it better or easier for the people that actually want to go to matches.

Nothing wrong with adding NFC as an option and encouraging people to use it, I just object to the narrative or use it or **** off.

I have a (very old and 'embarrassing' apparently!) 'smart' phone but have never received emails on it - nothing's so bl00dy important it can't wait a few hours for a response and when I'm away topping up the skin cancer the last thing I'd do is look at emails!
I'm with you on the club's 'can't do' attitude to fans over this switch to ticket apps. It seems there's a real bunch of w@n kers working there at the moment. Bring back Ron Rollitt!
