Absolutely dreadful again today. The lack of conviction in his play is so frustrating whether that's shooting, taking someone on or crossing. It just all looks so half-hearted. Perfectly happy for Dennis to start ahead of him against Arsenal, he can't expect to keep his place after two **** performances in a row.

Get rid. He got us up last season, but obviously misses the thrill of Preston away. Newcastle can take him and 20M, then we buy a better RB and a replacement 10M a piece from the Championship who are at least slightly better than Cathcart and Sarr right now.

Two, at least 4 in a row.

Definitely our most underperforming player at the moment.

It's a sad state of affairs when Foster is more creative than Sarr.

Indeed -midfield ( did we have one today?) created less - long ball second half at least changed the mood whereas in first half Foster did play some very good long/ direct balls to both Sarr and King. It’s gonna be a long season and sadly the home performances thus far do not lift the spirits ahead of the next game. Hopefully there is a surprise amongst the next few - at least they are only against Man U, Chelsea and Citeh

This is why Sarr will NEVER be a big time player.

Has 1 good game in 5 (at best!)

If his agent is in advanced talks and he does not that is Ismaila want to risk injury to jeopardize the move then bench him. Waste of time playing someone who is not committed. Get as much as we can out of the grubby Tyneside club. Sixty or seventy million. Play real hardball. Then reinvest in January and rebuild the squad to an extent with three to four additions preferably a couple of youngsters with real promise. Raid Sampdoria perhaps ? Damsgaard and Thorsby for instance.

More realistically get £50m for Sarr, funnel £15m to Udinese for a low grade winger and then the rest will be swallowed up paying down the mountain of debt Pozzo has run up. Meanwhile Cathcart will rack up 20 appearances, we will send Louza to Udinese on a freebie loan, and we spiral back to the championship minus our one genuine high value asset. Bleak times. Everything comes from the dreadful decisions by the owners over the period 2 to 5 years ago. Everything now is just reactive and constrained by that. No long term strategy is even possible due to our financial problems and we cannot compete.

Would absolutely love Damsgaard and Thorsby. Still not sure whi h is Damsgaard's best position tbf. Thorsby just never ever stops and would be ideal for us. Can be sloppy with his passing but makes up for it with his overall attitude. Their Polish RB has always impressed me too.

Take £40 million, plus an extra £30 million if Newcastle stay up. We are so hopeless we will probably chuck that money away by pipping them to 17th spot this season.

Take £50m from Newcastle. Play Dennis out wide with King through the middle and JP out wide (Cucho as back-up).

Invest the £50m on 3 new defenders, a keeper and a ball-playing midfielder.

Otherwise say hello to the Championship.

Sarr has to go either way.

I like your thinking but my worry with that is we get the Defenders etc what we need ,then king and Dennis get injured who imo are the only ones possible to score the goals to keep us up ,will be solid in defence with nothing up top ,defo imo need to have more attacking options as don't think cucho, pedro or fletcher are ready yet

Who would he willing to sell any half decent defender in January for a price that Gino would pay.

His max spend on a defender ever is £5m.

We could see £50-£80m for Sarr and they still wouldn’t spend any of it on the defence.

We could agree to sell Sarr with the fee comprised entirely of a swap deal for Van Dijk and Gino would still put him straight on the midnight train to Udine.

Some of these comments are incredible. Yes he may be inconsistent but he is still our most creative and dangerous player. Comments such as "Get rid" are just beyond belief. If Newcastle bid something ridiculous like £60-70m then absolutely we should sell but by no means should we just get rid

I think it’s more the nature of paying circa £40m for one winger who yeah on his day is unplayable but that’s not that often over having defenders who are past it at championship level. I think the “get rid” people would like to see say 4 £10m players come in in his place

I totally understand that he wasn't the player we needed at the time and the fact that the defence has been largely ignored. I didn't go on Saturday but I understand he wasn't very good but not sure who was. He was om at Saturday and should have had an assist. Get rid suggests to me the player is a complete waste of a shirt which he clearly isn't and actually has showed some loyalty which should not be ignored. What we don't do enough is play at speed to allow him space. Too often he gets the ball and the opposition are well set.
As I said, £60m+ then I absolutely think we should sell but I think we should be careful what we wish for as getting that money and spending £40m on four £10m players does not guarantee safety. Keeping him though probably gives us 10 goals plus assists which would go along way to seeing us stay up

His body language is what stunk most on Saturday. Very visible huffing, throwing his arms up in the arm, head dropping etc and almost always after something he'd not done right.

The boy clearly lacks the confidence in himself to shake off mistakes or a bad game - and it leads to frustration and more mistakes.

It’s not a question of lack of talent - it’s a mindset thing. The best players try things and if they don’t work, they retain the confidence to try again and do it better. Their heads don’t drop. All too often, when Sarr tries something and fails, he goes into his shell and either does nothing and fades from the game or takes the easy option through fear of failure.

Look at similar players to him in the league - they play with a freedom and a confidence that Sarr seems to lack. He just comes across either sulky or shy. He needs to work on having a killer instinct and in turn, to express himself further. He’s 23 now so can’t fall back fully on the excuse of being young.

He was extremely poor on Saturday - but I find a bit of the scapegoating of him very vitriolic. There are far more players (and people) at the club who are worth far more criticism before you arrive at Sarr.

I'd sell him for 15m in a heartbeat. He's gash. The longer we hold onto him at this level, the more apparent it is going to become. He's fast, but he rarely runs at full pace. He has no skill, no crossing ability, can't head, isn't a great finisher or shooter, doesn't track back, doesn't have a great work ethic.

All round, he's a luxury winger without any tricks.

When people say ‘get rid’ I don’t think in the main they’re talking about actively getting rid of him regardless, but more if someone wants to offer us a decent amount of money, then it makes absolute sense to take it.

I think we will make a profit on him because for me he still has a high ceiling and potential.

Even if we don't, we should sell in January. Our squad is freakishly lopsided (even though our forwards aren't particularly impressive at this level) and he won't be here next year whatever we do.

If we can offload now and re-invest sensibly in 2/3 players that would be ace.

I know it's technically a little bit early but I have this creeping worry about our squad for next season in either division.

I'm not one of the one's advocating selling him - because firstly, I don't think Gino would invest a lot of the fee back into the team...and even if he did, I doubt there's going to be sufficient quality willing to come to a relegation-threatened side in January. And secondly, it will look like we are waving the white flag of defeat already.

In saying that, right now, anyone would be mad to pay us more than we spent on him. And I doubt anyone will. And for as long as he is wildly inconsistent, then I think all the certainty about him definitely being sold in the summer can be parked as well quite frankly.
