Given the statement that was issued post relegation and the events of the last 48 hours I would say today

Gino is far, far too slow to take strong remedial action.

Duxberry should have gone a year ago at the latest. He will probably last another year or so, despite his position being obviously untenable.

It's hard to know if Gino's head is in the sand or up his own ar$ehole.

I'm on the fence with this. Duxbury has done a hell of a lot of good things at the club.....and the fact he's been at the club for 8 years and this is the first time I've ever seen a post calling for him to go speaks volumes as to how good he's been.

However, he is part of the board, who have taken the club in the wrong direction over the past 20 months, so he does need scrutiny. There are lots of things wrong right now, and he does seem oblivious. It surprised me how unaware he was over the perception of communication between the fans and the club as being bad, in the recent forum. That was a bit alarming to be honest, as he prides himself on that.

Fundamentally Duxbury is a corporate guy, but he's a good guy. Maybe he's been at the club too long and needs a fresh challenge? It certainly feels it's all gone a bit stale over the last year and a half.

This latest head coach appointment will be the last straw for many if he turns out to be a hopeless dud, and even if he turns out to be the next Pep, I don't think a club like Watford should be handing a top job to a complete novice on principle. We're further up the evolutional tree than that.

We are now in a position that he and Gino are entirely responsible for, but he needs to be given the opportunity to put it right. IF we continue down this road of poor recruitment and bad head coaching appointments it will only lead to failure.

I'd say right now, we are at the crossroads with the board of Watford football club. If they screw this season up, as it appears they are on course to do, then by the end of the season his position could become untenable.

Ok, fans do not have the power to sack the CEO or remove the board, but if you do not have the fans with you, then you have absolutely nothing and you cannot achieve anything. Duxbury is right about one thing. We have to all be in it together......and there are some serious cracks immerging right now.

If he had any sense of dignity or honour, he'd resign immediately.

But he doesn't, so he won't.

Duxbury is just a yes man happy to pick up his wages. Probably on a 5 year contract.

I can speak from personal experience that Duxbury does care about the supporters at least.

I think fundamentally, Duxbury is probably a decent guy who means well and does a lot of good stuff behind the scenes. And it must be hard having to continually try and paint the owner in a good light, lets face it.

That said, when his head comes above the parapet, he's prone to a huge lack of self-awareness as his performances at fan events show. And that does nothing but make him look like a corporate suit who doesn't really care what fans think of him, even if that's not true.

I like Scott Duxbury and I think he has overall done a very good job at Watford. I've had a few chats with him as a fan and he was surprisingly open about WFC and football in general. That said, Watford is a stepping stone club for all except us fans and I do wonder whether Dux should have moved on to another position in football or professional sport. Staying in one job can make you stale and what else can he do at Watford that he hasn't done already? The Bushey Hall stadium is unlikely to happen now. Someone needs to introduce him to the Glazers - he's a Man Utd fan and could do a far better job there than that Woodward guy.

As CEO Duxbury surely doesn’t have control over managerial appointments and recruitment strategy, which is where the problems are.

With football being what it now is, if you expect to like everything that comes out of a club CEOs mouth you’ll regularly be disappointed.

Man U fan ex West Ham and accountant I think and Gino's right hand man/mouthpiece.

He sounds good talking about non football issues but seems poor at communicating issues regarding the first team etc.

He has definitely had input into those areas above in the not too distant past so his finger prints are over most of it. Not sure if he’s still involved though in that side of things.

    Depends on his responsibilities.

If he’s there to focus on operations and commercial activities then he’s done a decent job.

    Has he?

Club communications are contemptible and an extension of the way the fans are treated like utter morons (admittedly, deservedly in most cases).

I guess off the pitch they have done some good like with the NHS (then 3 of our own players make the club look like fools !) and the sensory room /general ground improvements but communication in recent times is poor .

And of course to most fans it’s what happens on that pitch that is the most important thing .

And the Deeney statement was sackable on it's own.

Sure. But it depends who runs the football side. Not saying I know, perhaps it’s also Duxbury, perhaps not...

Did you not know Deeney has been adopted by Scott. Deeney mouthing off again about how fabulous Mourinho is. Moaninho would boot him out of his club within a heartbeat. The delusions Troy suffers.

They might just be able to squeeze him in as ball boy. Wonder if he is still friends with Andre after and rightly so criticizing recently partying moronic footballers like Mendy, Lamela, Lo Celso and Lanzini.
